  1. Oh but PMDG did model the flight crew in their 737ngx. The co-pilot actually moves and so does the pilot. The pilot actually repositions himself in his seat and reaches around in the cockpit to do things and so does the co-pilot. And they do call off heights and speeds and certain emergency announcements like terrain etc. But I'm sure it wouldn't add hardly any cost to model the pre-flight and in-flight announcements and possibly some other announcements to the passengers for realism. I know PMDG does not model PA systems but what I am asking for is already modeled to a degree. The airplane actually has a PA system and in real life the aircraft would not move from the tarmac without a functional PA. But the engine sounds are extremely complex to model but I bet you would be disappointed with an inferior, crappy sounding engine. Modeling talking is not rocket science and to me would be more realistic. What we have now is kind of like having a bride with a 10,000 dollar wedding dress on coming down the aisle with flip-flops on. Henryccrider
  2. have you heard of more money? That's what it takes for fscrew. What am saying is if I have to pay PMDG for the great aircraft and the fact that they model 49% of the real life in a 747, why not audio. Let's face it, pilots can actually talk. PMDG models everything down to the last bolt yet their pilots can't talk to their passengers and the stewardesses can't talk either. I actually had a crew annunciator in a freebie aircraft so I don't think it's that hard to do. Maybe we could address the reason airliners fly..the passengers. Or maybe it's the carrot dangling out there so we will spend more money for this feature. So what about the 777? Can't you at least have pilots and stewardesses that talk (make announcements). This is Joe Bob, your hunky adorable pilot who is now directing this aircraft across the Atlantic and we will arrive in Amsterdam at ----time. Enjoy our many facilities available on this flight. If you look out your left window you will see our engine on fire contrasted by a beautiful dawn sun rising. We are now at 45000 feet and falling uh descending to a lower altitude. See how your mind wanders up here with no one to talk to or listen to. henryccrider
  3. As a passenger I hear the crew, pilot included telling his passengers about the flight and airplane they are about to fly in and telling them the location of facilities etc and flight time they are departing and arriving. I have even heard the pilot point out particular scenery they fly over to the passengers. It is not a great step from imagining we are flying a real life plane to having real life passengers and crew. Why not model; some audio of real life aboard the 777 as it goes on in real airliners? Honolulu to Amsterdam is a real long and lonely flight in an empty airplane and the Atlantic Ocean scenery is not all that stimulating. But hearing the stewardess or pilots making an occasional announcement brings things into prospective. henryccrider p.s. I have the 747 Queen and the latest 737-800 and 900 ngx Really nice but it would have been great to have crew and pilot audio for them. henryccrider
  4. i guess i feel obliged to reply with my two cents worth. I have in my experience been associated with some sites who seemed to have an ongoing feud with everybody. Other sites could care less about their members, what was most paramount was the rules set forth. Some sites allow their members to attack and carry on vendettas against each other. fortunately i belong to two VA and both are very congenial, treat you with respect and if you break a rule they make you aware of it without belittling you or embarrasing you. As an executive of this site you have to put up with a certain amount of behavior but in the end you are answerable to your membership. My point is if no one asks the question there is no need for an answer. You do what you think is necessary and right and if people ask questions answer them, because the facts will bear out your decisions. I have not read the TOS for this site and I don't think I will do anything improper but if I do something against the rules then I expect to be informed by management. You should not be defensive if asked a question, just answer it. I can just see me on my forum attacking the staff. Everyone would want me out and if you are staff your job would be to throw me out and then if asked questions you could answer them. If what you said is true about the one you banned, then your reason: he didn't adhere to proper decorum for this site. delete his password and administratorship...all done That way it doesn't look like a civil war going on. your job is to do for the membership...you did it. this is just my two cents worth and i am not trying to be critical of what you did. it was your job so you don't need to defend it. henryccrider
  5. that's like asking a bear would you like some honey and if PMDG makes it, you know it's going to be great. so a great big YES. henryccrider DVA 3020 Senior Executive
  6. how can i tell if its set to read only, and if it is is there anything i can do about it ? I edited another cfg file and put the texture file in the airplane folder and I turned off my user access control and it saved the edited cfg but the repaint did not show up in fsx free flight page where you select your airplane from. The texture folder does go in the airplane folder doesn't it?i forgot to sign my post about the cfg file..henry murray
  7. can anyone tell me why i can't install a delta livery. I have fsx with acceleration, windows 7, and i follow the instructions when placing the delta into the ac cfg file but after p,lacing in the cfg file it says do you want to save changes and i click yes and a window comes up and says access denied. I turned off my user account control, same thing, i logged onto notepad as administrator same thing i checked to make sure the file was accurate and i even had a delta re[paint in the cfg that would not show up in fsx free flights aircraft page even though it is in the cfg file. I'm beginning to think conspiracy. I'm apparently not doing something right. I edit the cfg file and i put the texture file in the ac folder but it wont let me save the changes to the cfg file. Is PMDG responsible for this not saving the changes to the cfg file?..Henry Murray Laurel Delaware USA
  8. I tried to edit my cfg file in PMDG 747-400X program located at ms games/simobjects/airplanes/PMDG747-400X but when addin g to the file it asks me if I want to save the changes but then will not allow me to save the changes. I turned off UAC with no change in results. I logged on as administrator and extrracted terxture straight to PMDG folder but it showed up in 747-4008i. My question is does PMDG have some restriction in place to keep me from installing a delta texture in my 747-400X folder. If PMDG does not have a restriction on downloading textures that don't come from them can someone tell me how to install a delta texture to PMDG747-400X.....henry murray laurel delaware
  9. how can I get a delta livery for my PMDG747-400. I tried several but have been unable to install them. I keep getting access denied or you dont have administrators permission and i am logged on as administrator. I followed directions on install by adding the texture cfg to the cfg file but when it asks if i want to save it wont save it. Is there something that blocks the addition of liveries that PMDG does not offer? If so, how can i get a delta livery for my PMDG747-400X? henry murray..laurel del.
  10. when flying a long flight using the 747-400X PMDG I find myself in the water after about 5 to six hours flying time but my PDU shows I am at FL 300 and IAS 320. The cockpit is missing alot of the instrumentation and is not responding to climbs or speed changes. I have seen the cockpit instruments freeze up and stop responding on long flights. This seems to be isolated to the 747-400 X PMDG. All my cp mainteneance is up to date daily and my graphics are set at high globally. My cp has 6 gb RAM and 1 Terrabyte of hard drive an d dual core 3.0 speed processors and am running FSX gold edition ith acceleration. I fly on VASF and run FSUIPC while flying and try to use as little scenery as possible when flying across oceans(nothing to see). Oh the auto-pilot is off each time I find myself in the water, but ws on when I started. Do you have any thoughts of what I might be doing wrong or what is going on? I appreciate any help. I sign my name in my posts here because I don't know how to sign it outside of this box. henry murray Laurel, Delaware, USA
  11. i asked for help on an avsim forum and got slammed for not having a full signature. everthing except the signature beneath a post is very visible on my cp. i didn't even see them till told about it. i don't even know how to enter my name under the post as appears on the forums so i just post my full name and address and don't consider it anyone's business what my interests are except flying. and i was told that using all capital letters in a post was rude not a choice. as long as my keyboard has capital letters i'll use them as i damn well please. well if you type the letter 'j' you're an ax murderer and if you type the p you are a child molester etc. etc. etc. get my point. the content of the post is what can be considered rude not the upper or lower case letters. and of course the reprimand from this individual did not include any help, and lo and behold someone defended this jackass with another post without offering any help. i searched for an hour trying to find the rules and regulations for this forum and finally found this. could you just put up a link on each forum that simply says forum rules and regulations. makes things sooooo easy and i hope you don't think me rude for not using any capital letters in this post. your truly henry l . murray, laurel, delaware U.S.A.
  12. 1. I'll talk to my keyboard about being rude.2. I don't know what a thif is but i do know that if I get an answer from PMDG as to why i cannot install a Delta livery it's going to cost me money at the ticket desk.3. An installer came with my disc and I sat back and watched it install my FSX with Acceleration on my computer. It didn't say if this is alright with you I'll install it here. I sort of figured that the people at microsoft might know where it goes better than me.4. I noticed that there were three replies, but what I didn't notice were full names under the post until you brought that up, mainly because I sit across the room (about eight feet) from my 51 inch monitor and the printing is extremely light and small.5. Please don't tell people to put it in the correct place. Help is defining where the correct place is or what the correct thing is to do. If we all knew where the correct place was no one would be asking for help on this forum and I still don't know why I have forty liveries that I installed on my FSX but can not install a Delta livery in my PMDG 747-400X file even when following the directions.6. My full name is Henry Larry Murray and my address is Laurel, Delaware.
  13. what i mean dan is when i copied the 747-400 repaint texture into my pmdg aircraft cfg file by actually typing it in the existing file just as directed. i had zero through eight {fltsimXX} so my next number was nine. after typing everything i tried to close the file. a box came up asking me if i wanted to save the changes. i said yes but when i clicked on save a pop up said access is denied and would not save the changes i made. so i thought maybe i have two existing files, the edited file and the unedited file and if i delete the unedited file it will let me insert the edited file. i know... stupid. but when i did that i lost all my passenger planes (pmdg livery and PMDG downloaded liveries. i went to my trashbin and resurrected my unedited cfg and tried to trade out the cfg files but a pop up box said i didn't have administrator permission to do that. well i got mad and went to the pmdg site and started downloading liveries right and left. after about the tenth livery download i had the original unedited cfg back plus everything i had downloaded except the delta livery. don't know how but that is what happened. i guess you can't manually install a livery into the pmdg file for the 747-400X, and i don't know why.
  14. DOES PMDG NOT ALLOW INSTALLATION OF A DELTA LIVERY IN THEIR 747-400X? I CAN'T EDIT THE CFG FILE BECAUSE WHEN I ADD A DELTA TEXTURE TO THE FILE IT WILL ASK IF I WANT TO SAVE THE CHANGES. YES....ACCESS DENIED OR DON'T HAVE ADMINISTRATOR'S PERMISSION. SO WHAT IS THE ANSWER? AND WHY DOES PMDG NOT HAVE A LIVERY FOR THE SECOND LARGEST AIRLINE IN THE WORLD? DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND ONE THAT WORKS IN PMDG747-400X? PMDG HAS SO CALLED CUSTOMER SUPPORT BY TICKET BUT AFTER YOU ENTER YOUR ORDER I.D. THEY TELL YOU THAT THEY WONT HELP YOU IF YOU DON'T BUY THEIR EXTENDED SUPPORT. I AM SLOWLY GETTING A CRAPPY OPINION OF PMDG SERVICE AFTER THE SALE BUT I KNOW THIS WILL CHANGE ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. any help is appreciated...........henry
  15. does anyone know where i can get a delta texture for my pmdg 747-400X? Apparently it has to be installed with an installer compatible to their programming requirements. When I have found a delta texture it will not allow me to install it in my pmdg file. if you kn ow of one that can be installed in pmdgx let me know.......thanks henry
