  2. Remember, we are talking about FS9 on a separate drive, not the "C" drive. So C:Program Files in both 64 and x86 is not really relevant to this.
  3. I know this kind of stuff gets asked a million times over but, I'm a lost ball in the tall weeds. So much of the video card info I find is for the latest and greatest, which I don't have.I need a video card to add on to my computer so I don't have to use the onboard nVidia MCP6 for FS9.Running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate with an AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core Processor 5000+ 2.6GHz with 6gb RAM. Raptor hard drives. Some PMDG payware, Opensky. Eventually want to improve my scenery with some payware mesh, etc. I may want to do dual monitors in the future. The computer is multi-use and not dedicated to gaming.I don't have a problem with having to go with a new old stock, used card or eBay, if necessary. I would just like to get the best card for the current setup, however, the bottom line is that I obviously don't want more card than the processor can handle. But, I simply don't know what that is.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I know this may sound lame at first but, hear me out.I installed FS9 in Dec; Was a Christmas present. (Was runinng Windows7 x32 Ultimate OS with original fs9 install, now running Windows7 64 Ultimate OS) Put it on a separate hard drive. Never did any gaming before and I got after loading third party add ons without really knowing what was good and what wasn't. One thing I learned was that with some aftermarket add ons they were self extracting, to what "they" had programed as a default file path. Usually C:\Microsoft Games\fs9 or something similar. Often I would have to go back and clean up move files, folders, etc. PMDG apps comes to mind; some scenery/airport programs. It seems that many of these programs wanted to install folders outside of the fs9 directory. Is that normal?I think I want to reformat that drive and start over and be a little more selective with what I load up. I want to get this installed properly to minimize conflicts, maximize results . . . you know the drill. For those of you that have fs9 installed on a separate drive, do you have the file path/directory named in such a way that minimizes errors with self extracting programs once you point it to the proper drive letter? How do you make sure that the self extracting programs install properly on a separate drive when they are set up to seek the fs9 install on the "C" drive? Do you keep the drive:/Microsoft Games/fs9, etc or drive:/fs9 or something else? THANKS IN ADVANCE!
  5. I was recently looking at some videos on YouTube and I saw one (great scenery, btw) that had the following scenery installed: Ground Environment 2006 Real Environment Xtreme FS2004 Ultimate Terrain USA1. Are there potential issues with installing multiple sceneries?2. Does one overlap and overwrite some of the others files?3. If so, would there be a preferred order of installation in order to keep the best file images from each add on?THANKS IN ADVANCE!
  6. Well, I guess the question really is, "how big of a chance are you taking on activation buying used instead of new?"
  7. I'm new to all of this but I got hooked and now because of FS9 I now want to get FSX.So, If I went to Amazon and bought a used/previously owned copy of FSX, like I did with FS9, would I be able to download any updates that might be available? Are there subsequent registration issues?Which version to get? Standard, Deluxe, or Gold?THANKS IN ADVANCE!
  8. Let me see if I am following you correctly:I'm using FS9 so I need to change the lines in the panel config file to what you put up?EDITTRIED THAT! GOOD TO GOTHANK YOU VERY MUCH!
  9. Not sure if this is the right place but here goes anyway.I recently downloaded the following 777 panel file from the AVSIM file library: Filename: 777pan_rjy.zip License: Freeware Added: 5th February 2006 Downloads: 8259 Author: Rad James Yarjan Size: 3602kb Got it installed, just like the directions say but the backup altimeter and airspeed indicator do not show up on the panel.Any ideas as to how this can get fixed? I emailed the author but no response. THANKS IN ADVANCE.
  10. Whatever they are paying you is not enough! YOU DA MAN!Thank you very much!
  11. I can screw up an anvil with a rubber mallet!I lost my basic 747-400 aircraft file that came with FS9.1. Is there a place where I can download it or do I reinstall FS9?2. If I reinstall FS9, does that overwrite everything and I loose all of my addons?THANKS IN ADVANCE!
  12. I am currently running Windows 7 Ultimate x32 SP1, Athlon 64x2 5000+ Dual Core Processor @ 2.6mHz, 2GB of RAM, nVidia onboard GeForce 6150 nForce 450 video card.I have been considering a change to x64. I can put up to 8gb of RAM on the machine. As I understand it, x32 is limited to using 4GB of RAM but the x64 is not. I know I need a decent graphics card but I am just concerned at this point on the OS.Is moving from x32 to x64 going to be that big of a boost given the hardware involved?Any thoughts?THANKS IN ADVANCE!
