FSX-ASN 8-minutes freeze
Smithdm replied to Laban4's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI had this problem and here is what I did that seemed to fix it. 1. Uninstalled X Gauge - I'm not at all sure this had anything to do with the problem but it was the last change I had made before I had the problem so I just uninstalled it 2. Updated fsuipc to the most current version 4.9.2.8 Repeated the flight that I had the freeze problem with and there was no reoccurrence. SmithDM

Can't get a cold & dark cockpit, start locks don't work
When I load the tutorial flight the aircraft is sitting on the ramp, doors closed, no baggage cart, pylons, or ground power unit attached, props in the fine pitch position, cockpit on battery power, yellow alert light on, with that lovely altimeter clicking noise running. Since I like to start with the cockpit cold and dark I imagined I could simply shut off the avionics and battery power, secure the cockpit, save the flight with a new name, and use it as my default setup. What I have found however is that no matter what I do I cannot get the cocpit to load in a cold and dark state. The second and I presume related part of my quandry is the fact that any action I take after loading the flight, such as opening the Ramp Manager and attaching the external power unit, or switching the avionics and battery power to the off position, causes the props to move into the feathered position. After unfeathering the props, starting the engines, and slowly moving each of the power levers into reverse as instructed, I do not get the announcement indicating that the start locks are removed. Taxi and take-off proceed normally regardless. I've seen other posts that refer to FS Crew in relation the the start lock announcement but it isn't a factor since I don't have it on my machine. None of this keeps me from flying and enjoying the aircraft but I would still appreciate any advice I can get on ironing out these annoying little bugs.

JS41 FMS Question
Go to the FSX directory and open the PMDS folder. In it you will see a FLIGHTPLANS folder. Select and right click on the folder. In the pop-window that appears, click on Properties, Un-check the Write Only button, then click on Apply, and OK. Dave S. Correction - navigate to the PMDG folder in your FSX directory.

JS41 FMS Question
My problem was resolved quickly by the fine folks at PMDG support. The properties of my flight plan file needed to be changed from Read Only to allow the sim to save new files.

JS41 FMS Question
Yes, I have pressed enter to confirm. See attached screen shot. I am returned to the active FP page after pressing enter at this point. Still no file found in the PMDG flight plan folder when I look for it. Thanks for your advice. Dave

JS41 FMS Question
Love this aircraft! I am able to create a flight plan and fly it using the FMS but I cannot seem to save it so that it remains in the database. It appears to assign a file name and save when I press the enter button but when I go to the flight plan list page it is not there. The only flight plan that appears in the list is the demo that came with the aircraft. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Dave
