  1. Yep, should we combine our experiences and share somewhere else or in a new topic so that others can see, maybe LM is not aware?
  2. Dear all, after a lot of testing some conclusions! 1. Prepar3D v3 SLI works but not at all when undocked windows are used. This had been solved and was working quite well in v2.5. Too bad for the ones that use it. The GPU load on the second card drops nearly to 0%. Closing the undocked brings SLI back immediately. 2. SLI even without undocked does not represent too much benefit. From all my testing one single GPU without SLI gives much the same. 3. For people that use undocked views, ones with some type of home made cockpits: a. One single GPU and all 3 monitors give basically the same FPS then if you have 1 GPU 1 monitor and a second GPU with another monitor or two (my case), the load stays mainly in the first GPU. b. SLI as of this release of v3 is not an option, v2.5 is way better in FPS c. I moved from 2 SLI GTX770 to 1 GTX970 with all 3 monitors in one GPU and there is a excellent increase in FPS! This is off course comparing the SLI results I have in v2.5 to non SLI in v3.0. Off course we know GTX970 is a quite better perfromer but I would not imagine one alone would be so much better then 2 GTX770 in SLI. So here is my experience. I made a lot of benchmarking and as well some videos to go along but I think the conclusion is what matters. If you are today in SLI like me check out a new single GPU that might give you way more headroom. PS to conclude I would like to say that v3 experience is just great, no issue of worring with memory (VAS) even in very heavy scenery and airports, just smooth flight experience, best I had in a loooong time! BR//Luis.
  3. Yes off course, you are right...tired here.
  4. Quick question: on the 2 monitors without SLI where did you connect the monitors 1 or 2 GPUs? I am still on WIN7
  5. Hello Michael and Pincopanco, for me SLI is working in v3 with the manual settings of Rob, I will try to make a small review with pictures or video later tonight to show what I get. If I use nVidia normal driver profile then it goes in SLI but there is a large drop in FPS. Here is my configuration: 2 GPU's GTX770 in SLI, running OrbX + P3D v3 + PMDG 737NGX monitor1 in HDMI GPU1: projector 1920x1080 external view monitor 2 in DVI 1 GPU1: monitor with 3 undocked panels monitor 3 in DVI 2 GPU2: monitor with 2 undocked panels With this I get avarage 30-40 FPS unlocked and for a smooth flight I lock it at 25 FPS I also tested yesterday without SLI and monitor 1 in GPU1 and monitor 2 and 3 on GPU2 and results looked similar but I need to have time to test more to come with conclusions but looks like although SLI works and both GPUs show a high load it is not an advantage over no SLI.
  6. Thanks for feedback. I do have 3 monitors running all the time, one projectot for external view and 2 other for external windows all by using SLI and it works really well and smooth. Just need to give SLI focus to the external view but again with the tweaked nv inspaector settings but not good with the stock from nVidia...
  7. Dear all, great so far with v3 I got a big boost on FPS and usage of my 2 GPU's went to over 90% all great! BUT this is if I am using the profile I had got from Rob Ainscough for the v2.5 and adjusted manually with the helpm of: nVidia Inspector (NI) to remove the artifacts in SLI ... these settings here: http://www.robainsco...I_Settings.html . If I use normal nVidia profile from the last driver update the FPS drops a lot and very bad use of my GPU's. What are your experiences so far? BR// Luis. PS I use 2 GTX770
  8. Thank you so much to PMDG for the respect to us that have been supporting the company by buying your products, and keeping them compatible with the new Sim relaeses!
  9. Thank you very much, so just like before, great! I will try tonight as well and see how things go. I hjope the programming side has not changed or I will have problems with my cockpit and hardware....
  10. Can someone let me know if the popup windows are still the same? I have been using the PFD's and FMC, etc in my cockpit external monitors and flying with no VC and would need to keep it that way. Thank you in advance.
  11. Will be interesting to see your findings, I see that not always things work as they are said to be. For example if I read Nvidia Q/A for SLI it states that only 2 monitors are supported for multi-monitor in sli but I am using 3 monitors for my cockpit with no problem, the main view one with the focus selection to get most of the 3d acceleration, so we never know. I would like to try to add a 4th one and then have two for surround, main view and 2 for my nd/pfd/cdu views as I have.
  12. Hello Rob, here are my settings, hope the link works: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BxnM6kEWjktQaWdOQXJkUTl2ak0&usp=sharing
  13. Hey Rob, I will come back with more when I am back in the cockpit tonight. What I did basically was I tried the AFR friendly sliu way first and checked what I got, then keeping all same I tried with std prepar3d.exe plus settings in nVida conotrol planel and editing the parameters through NVinspector and got basically the same in FPS improvement, so I concluded that I could just stay with this. I moved as well to latest nVidia driver and no problems so far. My current focus is on keeping my VAS low as with prepar3d + 73xxx +orb x + some airports it can be a challange to avoid oom's. I use 3 monitors for my cockpit, one is view, and 1 for CDU+lower planel and other for PFD's+clock, so a total of 5 undocked panels.
  14. SLI works quite well across all my 3 monitors, just need to be sure how you configure them.
