  1. Hi TopGeo. I had the exact same problem. I installed REX, and the textures weren't applying to FSX. I posted over on the REX support forums, and luckily figured it out, not sure if this will help, but might as well try First of all, I'm assuming you're running 64 bit? If so, try reinstalling FSX onto your C: drive ( C:Flight Simulator X) not 'program files x86 > microsoft games > fsx'. You can do this by clicking 'more options' on the first install screen, it will give you an option to browse where you want to install. Supposedly having a large program like FSX in the x86 directory can mess some things up. Reinstall REX on the C: drive as well. Second of all, do you have the acceleration expansion pack? Because REX needs FSX Service pack 2 to operate. Acceleration contains SP2, and if you don't have it, you can get it from the link below. Try those 2 things and see what happens, because it worked for me Good luck, and report back if it works! 2. Hi all. First of all, I realize there are a lot of threads about this already, but I have read practically everyone, and A ) We don't have the same problem, or B ) What people have suggested doesn't work, so I figured I'd start a thread explaining my problem, hardware etc. I got FSX up and running, with REX essentials. I was flying, and on final it would just freeze. It's frustrating as !@#* because I just sat for like an hour, looking forward to landing. I close that flight, start a new one, and yet again, it freezes and crashes. I had this problem on my old computer, so I did the same steps I conducted before. I dowloaded the UIautomationcore.dll, put it in the root folder. I then went to http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html, tweaked my fsx.cfg, replaced with old one hoping this would fix it, it didn't. I also have it running as Admin & XP SP2 Now my problem is at the splash screen on startup, it will just sit there and become unresponsive, I have to close it down through task manager everytime. I read up on this, people suggested deleting the fsx.cfg, and letting the Sim recreate a new one. I did that; didn't work. Posts also suggested to just wait a bit for it to start. Well normally, my FSX starts up in like 5 seconds, I waited 15 minutes and nothing happend. It's getting out of hand, I just want to play fsx :( Here is my hardware: Windows 7 64-Bit OS Intel core i5 3570k @ 3.4ghz ( not overclocked ) Geforce GTX 660 2gb 8gb DDR3 Ram FSX w/ Acceleration (SP2) (Installed directly on the C: drive) REX Essentials w/ freeware addon aircraft Thanks for whatever support you can guys can give, I appreciate it. - HSch
