  1. But once the GE's are up and running you have to be really up close to hear them while you don't have to be up close to a PW to hear its beautiful sounds. On the ramp you don't need hearing protections around those engines unless you are practically next to them but on a RR powered 757 those things will split your skull without good headsets.

What do ya mean. When I marshal the T7 in( Cathay 77W) the air is vibrating. The startup for the GE90 can be heard from my house which is almost 10km away. But I have to say there is a nice smoothness to the RR especially on the A330. Cheers!

  2. Lads! Go away with yer GE90's and Trent 800's, they got nothing on this bad boy! The PW4000-112

Skip to 1:30 for orgasmic sound ;)

Sorry pal, its all about those honking GE90s. It has the best start ups sounds especially when you are up close. The PW startup and RR are flat.

  3. Sky Service

Any how we were taken to the FBO ( Fixed Base Operator ) Sky Service Head quarters, again introduced to us by the VP. We were told TOM CRUISE !!! was scheduled to arrive that afternoon, most of the girls (including some men) got excited to see him later that day. But i was like you know what i ain't waiting for no Tom when there are Triple 7's in the airport !!! I mean really why would i, i can watch MI2 again. we were instructed by the VP not to take any pictures of the damn learjets or challengers parked. Sky service is apparently the biggest FBO in Canada & Privacy matters for the rich. I did note down a few reg. codes just to look up later lol. Not to mention the 2 huge hangers. I did count and there were 3 gulf stream g600s and king air 300 in one hangar with another 4 learjets and a tiny Piaggio Avanti ( That ain't no Ferrari of the skies ). The VP ( a graduate from our college ) mentioned they were the only sellers for the new Honda jets in canada. Don't get me wrong they had probably another 20 aircrafts parked outside the FBO, mostly lears and challengers. To my odd sense i spotted 2 Delta CRJ's parked in the FBO space, the VP mentioned it was because of the last weeks storm and they parked it here !!! Also there were not Delta just the tail colors written on the aircrafts either guessing it their charter aircrafts.

Ya it's not uncommon to see Delta's Crjs at Skyservice-parking issue. Skyservice has all types as business jets: the common biz jets then you have the dash 8, Q400, Do328 jet, BBJs and CRJ biz jets. Right now they are short on parking so the keep some parked at the infield terminal.

My job allows me to get real personal with the all the 777 at pearson except for Ethiopean, Air Canada & KLM. I also work on the A380, A310, 737 and 767. But the 777-300er is my fav.

  4. I can't for the life of me get over just how frigging enormous those engines are! Those things must make the very ground quake when at full power. And yet they are controlled so easily by those comparatively minuscule little power levers in the cockpit LOL.

Ya those engines are huge and ground shaking. When I marshal them in a YYZ, you can feel the rumble in your chest.

I did notice something behind the recliner, didnt really know what it was. Thanks for the picture. it makes sense now.

Also , i heard an insider about the Ethiopian 787 coming in tomorrow, Saturday. LOT airlines was supposed to bring it first to CYYZ but Ethiopian beat them to it. Apparently folks at LOT aren't too happy about it RFMAO

My company handles LOT, I think they are the ones to come with the 787. ETH already brings their T7 in.

  5. 200LR/300ER... tomorrow... that's all I want :Waiting:

    B)

YES! The 200ER is the most common variant for US carriers, and to be honest, that's about all the flying I do.

Plain and simple, if there is no -200/ER, I will be very disappointed.

What!!! It's all about the raked wing tips, 200lr and 300er. Nuff said

  6. At what alt are you trying to turn the autopilot on if below 400 ft it wont engage

I think I cleared 500 when I first tried to engage it, but I was well over that altitude when I kept trying. It would light up and then turn off immediately. Only the lnav and vnav lit up but ocourse did nothing. I took off using the toga click spot btw.

  7. Do you have your aircraft properly trimmed?

Yes, the aircraft is properly set up. It's not my first time on the 737 either. As I take off and want the autopilot to work, it doesn't. You could see the light come on but it disappears as off. Reloading doesn't work either. sometimes it works on some flights. It has a mind of its own.
