  1. Yea...i got busy running my computer shop, then opening a secong one 8 hours away...Time was nill for any fun...who said owning your own business was fun? Ha ha ..... Again thanks
  2. Oh Crapola...yes...win 7 64 bit... Again..i am indetted..i had forgotten that completely...its amazing what I can forget in a matter of a couple years.. many thanks...back to retry...
  3. I understand that...But...I again will clarify..as a system builder, and an avid overclocker, the gains for any OC above , lets say 3.8 are next to none on any later Intel or AMD chip... Its mostly about bandwidths, and the "I" series no longer has multipliers, the rest is in the other system specs, not just clock speeds. recently i build for my daughter a CHEAP AMD duild...i used a three core @ 3.3 , coupled it with a good Asus mobo and unlocked the fourth core...The other components are just that, other components...its got 8 gigs RAM at 1333, and a GTX 260.. yuppers...it runs FSX locked at 30 flawless, with a few config tweaks and proper set up its amazing for the cost...No Overclocking needed... that went out with Intel 775 and AM series
  4. FSX being CPU bound by no means will use any clock speeds over 3-6 ---3.8...its just pointless IMO... Its also been this builders discovery that SSD drives to house an OS and FSX is totally pointless.... I like any 32Mb Cache drive personally...seen to many just crash the OS.. I also say any good I7 , not any I3 or 5 for FSx.. Also FSX HATES SLI, Crossfire, or any dual GPU cards....period. 6 gigs of Ram @1600 or above is plenty... Last but not least...GPU needs to have a BIT Interface of 256 or above..... Lastly...FSX is not just about Hardware, its more about proper set up.... Just my humble opinions on this all...Money thrown at FSX will never guarentee proformance... I have a simple $500.00 box built as an experiment and it runs FSX flawless locked at 30 frames...I don't however care for PMG, or whatever its called aircraft , but run REX, UTX, GEX, etc...
  5. Hmmm...its not working for me..made two folders, named one scenery, and one textures, placed the appropiate items in each, then put both folders into a new folder that i named...Opened FS9, went to scenery, add, and see my folder, yet when i select it their is nothing there and never adds...OK..back to try again....
  6. A I5 @ 2.2 is actually not very strong...FS9 , like FSX, is CPU bound mostly.... Memory is fair, depending on its speed... BUT..Is it a laptop with intergrated graphics ? I build FSX computers, and through all my trails and discovery never use anything but I7 or Intel older socket 775 Overclocked duals or Quads. The i5 was put out as a basic office type fairly good multi-tasking chip... Is yours a Quad ? or in a laptop ?
  7. Ahhhh....The missing step...funny...that is just what I forgot to do also..... Thanks much for that refresher coarse.... I hate old age winning...Ha Ha Thanks again...
  8. Just getting back into FS9 again... I have Abacus EZ-Scenery...I have forgotten how and where to add my new objects libraries...i used to do it in my sleep...but old age wins ... Can anyone give me a quick step by step of adding these libraries please... I tried to add a Hanger object file...Followed all directions , and opened FS9 and then scenery...it shows , and was added, yet the objects are not actually there...I have lost my touch... frick many thanks
  9. Netframeworks are up to 4.5 now...They don't typically cause network errors... I still say that a virus is your problem...BSOD is typically related to hardware, not sorfware...Yours can also be a Vid driver issue that has crashed, BUT, it can be decieving, as a virus can and will cause these problems...Save your money...dump security essentials, and buy a Good virus program, or get a free trail..Most however are ###### today, including Trend, McAfee, norton, and AVG paid...PcTools is still my recomendation..as a reseller of it, I have installed and protected well over 2,00 comps with it trouble free..I swear by it....TIP...free trails don't always give you the needed definations to see and remove all Viruses/trojans.
  10. hey... You are infected... The protection you have, FREE, is junk..... I build, and service computers for a living, well, just retired, but you more than likely have a Trojan...No..security essentials will NOT see it or report or remove it... Solution...get good anti-virus...I suggest PcTools Spyware doctor/Anti-virus. Good luck. PS..You may need to install in safe mode, as your connection is already wacked...Go fast as you can so it updates, or you will need to beat the Trojan by connecting with a wireless dongle, hoping that you can update before the trojan jumps that too...
