  1. I suppose this question has been asked and answered before. Can' seem to find anything on it. Is it possible to run PMDG B737 NGX in FSX Steam Edition. It seems as if it installed OK, it shows up in the Aircraft menu, but the cockpit is "dead". No input with the mouse is possible. Please help. Hermann Kuhne
  2. Windows 10 had a new, large update this week. This, however, did nothing to correct the problem with my FSX PMDG/A2A aircraft. Currently, they are all still affected by that one rogue update. Seems to me I shall have to uninstall all my FSX PMDG/A2A aircraft and store them for whenever in the future this problem is solved. Yes, I know there are so many ideas on how to overcome this problem, but surely it is not up to me as the end-user to come up with solutions.
  3. kevinh. The height is not a problem from outside, but while sitting in the cockpit. From inside the cockpit, the pilot is almost level with the runway.
  4. Sitting in the cockpit of my PMDG B737, I suddenly realised that I am no higher off the ground than in my Cessna Scraping on the tarmac... Going to the B777 and B747 height above the ground seems fine. I am above the rest.
  5. I updated Windows 10 this morning and with a tremor started FSX. Last time, after the Windows 10 update, no PMDG aircraft worked. Well, I started FSX, and managed to fly the 747, 777 and 737 NGX. Started at FALE (King Shaka) and flew to FAOR (OR Tambo). No problem whatsoever. What happened? Is the culprit update fixed, or am I just lucky? Too scared to try again...:) :)
  6. I do hope, and sincerely believe, PMDG will eventually give us a thumbs up when the Windows problem is solved. I agree that this is also a temporary solution. Eventually Windows updates will have to be switched on again.
  7. My PMDG shipment all went to the maintenance hangar since the last Windows 10 update (kb4041676) except for the JS4100 and the DC6. That includes the 747, the 777 and the NGX. I uninstalled the "culprit" update and switched on the option to prohibit updates for at least a month. So far it worked like a charm. I tested all three of the affected aircraft and they all loaded. Tested the NGX on a trip from FAPE to FALE with no problems at all. Hermann Kühne
  8. No. The GTN 650 is a F1 add-on Garmin. Very nice. A2A's aircraft make special use of it.
  9. I disabled the F1 GTN 650 in the J411 panel.cfg completely. Tried the flight again and the FMS took to the flight plan with no problem! Seems as if the GTN 650 interferes with the FMS even though it is not switched on.
  10. I get the idea that using the Garmin GTN 650 may have something to do with it. When actually activating the GTN 650 during the flight and entering the same flightplan, the aircraft follows the GTN 650 rather than the JS4100's own FMS. When the GTN 650 is not used at all, the problem remains with the JS4100 FMS not following the flightplan. I've got the idea that even though the GTN 650 is in the background and not even activated, the JS4100 FMS is influenced by that.
  11. I did enter the Direct To waypoint and still it follows completely the wrong route.
  12. I recently dusted off my PMDG JS4100 and started flying her again. Must say, a very nice aircraft. One problem though: I programmed the FMS as per the Tutorial, pressed LNAV and FULL MAP and set off into the skies. The MAP showing my programmed route. I connected AP, then VS and FL armed. Nice going so far. When clicking on NAV it shows CAP and then...start to turn in a completely different direction from my Waypoints. There is no way I can get it to follow the waypoints in the map. Except by HDG. But that is not supposed to work like that. Any suggestions?
  13. If indeed Windows 10 is causing the problem with the 747 QTS, PMDG will have to look into the problem as installing and uninstalling updates of Windows 10 is definitely not an option. The problem did not exist previously and therefore could be rectified eventually. PMDG surely has the know how available.
  14. I installed the new updates for the 747 a couple of days after it have been released. Since the installation it is impossible to load the 747 QOTS. It crashes to desktop. Previously no problems whatsoever. Apparently the updates have something to do with this. Any suggestions? Hermann Kuhne South Africa
  15. A question if I may. Maybe it is dealt with somewhere, but I can't find it. Do I have to completely uninstall all my PMDG installations before reinstalling with the new updates? Repair does not seem to work. Gives an error: "Feature Transfer Error Feature FSX Version: Original Microsoft Product Component: Ops Center File <FOLDER_SIM2>\ Error: The filename, directory name or volume label is incorrect"
