It would be helpful if someone who has the problem can let us know if they do NOT have GSX installed (at all.. not just at that airport... but at all...)You must be referring to AES because GSX works at all airports on one install.
-
I suppose that's because they require a lot of maintenance ?
Bruno
That's a part of the reason but they are also not really ground crew friendly especially for the lav techs.

I'll be happy when the last MD-80 leave the fleet where I work.
Southwest are confirming that they will retire their B717s and go back to an all B737 fleet.Makes sense from an operational standpoint, much cheaper and more efficient to operate a single type fleet.

And the HUD works just fine and looks good when you swing it down in place. But like a lot of pilots, I choose not to use it. Means nothing for me anyway.
The HUD is a big seller and the biggest empty spot for me on the 777 is the lack of one (one 737 pilots says that its the HUD that makes the 737 top dog over the 777 for him). Its nice when you can hand fly in CATIII conditions.

The PMDG is miles ahead of the ifly in terms of graphics and its biggest feature: the hud which has been faithfully recreated vs being an ordinary gauge on the windshield.

It depends on the airline, some airlines have the plane powered up with ground power/air while others have the APU running for the entire turn even if its several hours, maintenance needs to do their ETOPS checks and other work so pilots who shut everything down will do nothing but annoy mechanics who have to power everything back up again, also people like catering and cleaners can't work in a pitch black cabin. The only time I've seen cold and dark out on the line is when the APU was inop and the GPU at the gate was also broken so they kept engine 2 running until everyone was off to keep the cabin lit (the plane was going to the hangar afterwards so they didn't bother pulling a GPU cart from the bag room). If its extremely cold like -10*F then the APU stays on the whole night so that stuff in the cabin won't turn into ice blocks.
Another thing to note is that you can have a cold and dark cabin but if the GPU is plugged in the cabin still can be fully lit and operational since its lighting controls are separate from the cockpit.

Hi Joseph,
Quality Wings are working on a 787 but I doubt it will be anywhere as complex as a PMDG release.
PMDG still has a lot of things they're working on at the moment and the 787 is not one of them.
After watching the JP 787 blu ray I'd be ecstatic if QW models at least 85% of the stuff correctly and I can make do with the engine fire and other non normal stuff inop (I still haven't touched that stuff in the 777 or even the 737 aside the fire test).
-
Maybe have a quick tutorial on forum searching, its a wonderful tool for both new people and vets that is heavily underutilized. As for rudeness here I think this forum is rather tame, if you go to a certain car club forum you will need a whole fire department to resist getting flamed for noobish mistakes (perhaps that's where my lack of tolerance for repetitive questions comes from, I was pretty miffed at getting flamed real hard but now I totally understand why they did it and in a way I now appreciate it and still frequent that forum with no problems anymore).

Aside the master caution light glitch with the cold and dark (which I use for my VIP plane) I haven't experienced any issues as well, I got around the MC glitch by making my own cold and dark state.
-
Realistically, I don't think fuel delivered to an aircraft from an underground system would be that low, even in Fairbanks.Fuel could be that cold if it was delivered by a tanker truck.
-
Rather fitting considering that Air France was launch customer of the 300ER.
-
Never used time compression either but then again I don't do many long flights, but if I do fly a long trip and plan on doing other things or sleep then its flown offline to avoid the pesky VATSIM sup's or ATC (which is why my vataware logbook isn't an actual reflection of my real hours).
-
It really depends on what kind of flying you like, if you like an automated aircraft that can cover long distances then the 777 is your bird but if you find the automation a bit boring and love to fly many hops out of smaller airports then you'll love the 737.
-
I hope there would be some kind of deal for current owners, it would suck having to repurchase the same product especially at full price to use it in P3D.
-
PMDG has not done this on the 777.I don't know what is so difficult about having a separate axis for tiller,so we can do the rudder control checks while rolling.
Most airlines I see do control checks before leaving the ramp so they don't have to turn around and taxi back to the gate if there is a problem.

Look up cera sim, they make PMDG quality copters.

Apple Maps...duh!
I want a Twitter feed update. Stat. No fewer than 4 tweets per day about progress. Personal text or phone call will also work.
Disclaimer: This entire post is a joke and is made to add a humorous side to some of the vitriol. The points are clearly overstated and are not intended to represent the claims or standpoints of anyone participating in this thread.
Pffft its all about google maps.

Its an airline option so make sure that you have it enabled.

At last the flight deck is going to be Grey . I always hated the "light brown" color on the current generation 777's
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Yep the grey looks a 100 times better.
I'm surprised, I thought the 787 was meant to be the successor, in terms of fuel efficiency, range, and wing design.
But it lacks the capacity of the 777. The 777x is supposed bridge the gap between the 787 and 747.
-
Based on reading your post alone, my bet is user error.
You shouldn't be using the C/D Panel state, which is probably causing some issues. It's not realistic to find a 777 in a cold and dark state anyway. Just to illustrate the point, when I asked a 777 pilot to confirm something for me that required a cold boot, he actually had to have maintenance confirm is because he never sees a plane like that.
And if a inbound crew does set cold and dark it will annoy the mechanics who have to run their tests and checks after the pilots leave, I do see a nice use of CD if you are treating the 777 as your own VIP plane.

That post is almost a year old though who knows if its still valid.

Very nice Brian, Quick question before I do some research, what happens in the event of a total loss of hydraulic fluid? is pressure maintained through an accumulator?
Then the crew will have to pull a repeat of that DHL Airbus that got hit by a missle over Iraq but I'm sure there are check valves to prevent total fluid loss.

Its an amazing plane and now I have something to use as a freighter but the A320/737 is starting to call my name again I get bored of flying one type exclusively.
PMDG 777, startup engines procedure

On the RR and PW engines you can do that but not with the GE's as far as I know.
