  1. I've spent the last few days googling this problem but I can't find a solution. Some people say it's a bug in FS9, some say other things.

What happens is when I have my engines on idle with the parking brakes on, all my aircrafts slooooowly creeps forward. I would say it creeps about 1"-2" every 5-10 seconds or so. It's not easy to spot when you're doing the usual things in the VC, but when I zoom VERY close to the ground, it's quite clear that the aircraft is moving forward on its own.

I have found a few threads online from other forums talking about a fix you can download but none of the members can find it. I wonder if one even exists?

Does anybody know what's causing this? I'd really hate to do a complete re-install with all my add ons and only to find out it doesn't fix the problem.

I really can't say if I had this problem before. If I did, I never noticed it until a few days ago.

    Thanks

  2. Hi guys,

Is there an add on panel I can buy that will automatically calculate my V speeds and approach speeds?

I just got the A300/310/Beluga add on from CLS and it's an F-Lite model. I have other F-Lite models but this one is a little too "lite". There is no working FMC, so I can't get my speeds. Been doing my Vr between 140-150 knots and approach at around 160. Just treating it like a default plane at the moment.

  3. Ouch. So sorry for all the questions guys. Looks like I've ran into another little problem.

I have spent the last hour trying to figure this out but I can't. I've cleared all the pre-programmed key assignments but the problem still persists. I didn't notice this during my quick tests before because I wasn't zooming in and out much at all.

Here's what happens. When I'm on the ground, I can zoom in and out no problem. But as soon as I'm airborne, every time I zoom in or out in the VC, my view would also pan all over the place. So if I'm trying to zoom straight ahead, as I zoom, the view would move to the left, or right, sometimes up or down. Almost as if the pilot is looking around all over the place.

    Any ideas?

  4. Thanks so much, guys. I had to move the dll file somewhere else because renaming it didn't do anything lol.

Got it registered and I'm gonna do a flight soon. I can't wait. So far I'm only using it for the VC effects, and I have to say, I think the effects are much better than EZDOK for FSX. I will get DBS Walk and Follow in a few days so I can start making FS9 movies. Man oh man, I just LOVE FS9!

  5. Sometimes the palette created for FSX will not work properly in FS9. The FSX palette I have makes my FS9 colors much too dark.

In your enbseries cfg file, look for Usepalettetexture under the [colorCORRECTION] heading and insert 0. So it should be Usepalettetexture=0. ENB will now ignore your palette texture. You can also delete the palette texture if you want after setting it to 0.

Now you can do all your tweaking within the enbseries cfg file. Disable all effects except for bloom (under [EFFECT]) and play around with your [bLOOM] and [colorCORRECTION] settings.

I'm also interested in some good ENB settings for FS9. I seem to have a love/hate relationship with the ENB settings I have. I'm not using it at the moment. Waiting to find a setting I can enjoy all the time.

  6. Thanks Doorstep. I looked in the modules folder but there is no F1.dll. There is one called F1_view.dll. Is this the one? Just want to make sure I don't delete something important. Can I just rename it to something like F1_viewHHH.dllHHH?

    Thanks

  7. Hi again guys. I'm still waiting for them to send me my registration key so I've been using it only where it works at the moment, which is KSEA.

I love the VC effects but have a problem with my middle mouse wheel. I've disabled the middle mouse zoom, pan and move in Active Camera's option menu, but when I scroll it up or down, the pilot's head position moves forward and back. So it's impossible to turn the heading, alt, speed, etc knobs in the VC.

I know there's got to be a way to keep my middle mouse button/wheel the way it was by FS9 default. How did you guys stop this from occurring?

    Thanks

  8. I just purchased and installed ASE. I'm very happy with the weather depiction, but there is one thing really bothering me.

After the initial weather update when I start a flight, every minute or so a message would appear along the top saying something like "ASE weather updated for 145 stations". In about a minute, it would appear again only with a different number of stations. I'm getting this every minute or two.

Is this normal? It's very annoying. Is there a way to remove this constant message?

I have AS2012 and it doesn't do this.

  9. Gavin,

Thanks. Looks like out vid card is similar (I have the non oc 560) but I'm sure your pricessor is better. But great to hear it runs very well on your rig. I'm going to give it a shot. Hope it runs well on mine. I can fly the FS9 version of PMDG MD-11 with all graphics maxed out (no shadows) and Ultimate Traffic at 100% without a problem.

    Geeza,

Thanks for your input. I fly using the VC all the time. It's great to hear your getting better results in FS9. I'm going to purchase it next week when I take my vacation from work.

I'm so desperate for a good 737. I have the FeelThere/Wilco 737 PIC and it has the worst problem. When I engage autopilot and change my heading, the VC yoke and ailerons goes completely nuts. I can't find a fix for it :(. I think I will start a new thread on it. Maybe someone has a fix by now.

  10. Hello guys,

I've been going back and forth between FSX and FS9. I've decided to use FS9 for commercial jets because I'm very dissapointed with my FSX performance using complex aircrafts.

I want to get the ifly 737 for FS9 and I was wondering if anybody can tell me what kind of fps hit I can expect?

The reason I'm asking is because I already own the ifly 737 on FSX and it is by far the worst on fps. My PMDG MD-11X runs better than the ifly. It's so bad that I've only done one flight on it and gave up.

Now I want to try the FS9 version. I'm just hoping it's more fps friendly compared to the FSX version.

Can anybody who own the ifly share their experience.

    Thanks

  11. Hi Maurice, to be honest I've not had any hits to FPS with T360 running- it was very smooth. The only slight stutter I get is when REX injects weather. I don't have an uber PC either (nVidia 460, i7 w/ 6 G ram). Only other add-ons are GEX Tropical, Orbx PNW, JF DC3, JF Lockheed Model 10, and GAS Lockheed Model 12.

Thanks Dave. I think I'm going to give it a try after they issue a service pack for some of the issues Will posted (thanks).

  12. Are your frames on locked or unlimited? I'm using UsePools=0 and with complex aircrafts like PMDG, I have to set my frames to unlimited or else I get stutters.

Just a question for those using UsePools=0... Do you have to delete RejectThreshold? I remember reading somewhere that when you set UsePools=0, it will ignore RejectThreshold. Now I'm not sure.

  13. I'm perfectly happy with FSX and hope it still has many years of life left. I have a feeling XP10 will replace FSX in the far future when they get enough third party support and better looking scenery.

I'm running FSX with many add ons (PMDG, AS2012, ENB, FS Cabin Crew, EZCA, UT2, UTX, GEX etc) and I don't get CTD's or OOM's. I'm also using the BP=0 tweak. When I first got my PC, I had a lot of CTD's but later found out I had a bad stick of RAM. Since replacing it, it's been running perfectly.

Ooops, I just remembered. There is only one thing that can give me a CTD, and that's Airbus X, which is known for giving CTD's.

I just noticed a lot of people are experiencing ctd's. Makes me nervous about upgrading to my next PC. I hope it will run FSX flawlessly like my current one.

  14. Thanks for the help, guys. I purchased it last year and it includes tons of liveries. Also, according to no. 33 on the list Fixed inoperative Dome Lights in Virtual Cockpit. My dome light is working fine so I'm assuming my version is up to date.

I just finished a fresh installation of FSX and will install the MD-11 tonight. I will check the aircraft .cfg like PHX suggested.

    Thanks again for your help.

  15. I believe its half price for existing Airbus X customers. Something like 15-20€

Excellent! I think I'm gonna give this one a try. Thanks, Wims80.

I just downloaded the Simcheck A-300 so I haven't really gotten into it yet although the graphics I can tell are not the sharpest.

The exterior model is not that great, cockpit is so so (don't like the night lighting), but the aircraft flies beautifully. I really enjoy it. There is a way to import your flight plan directly into the INS for those who don't want to spend a lot of time programming it. I like the added features like the ability to remove the yoke and window tint. I just wish they made more liveries available because it's VERY limited. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

  16. Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the tip. Looks like you have a lot of aviation experience in both the virtual and real skies. That's awesome.

I will keep it in mind. Mine is set to 3 at the moment. I'm running an AMD 955BE oc'd to 4ghz but with AMD, I'm guessing it's pretty much the equivalent of 3ghz i5. So I'm going to leave it as is at the moment.

I do plan to upgrade to an overclocked Sandy or Ivy bridge in a year or two.

I spent a few hours last week fooling around with my FS9 frame rate lock settings and I found a sweet spot. It sounds weird and doesn't really make sense, but for some reason, it works best in my system.

I just switched over from FSX to FS9. So far I only have REX, Ultimate Traffic, and a few add on aircrafts installed. My traffic setting is at 100%.

What I did was lock my frames at 60fps.

I did my tests using the PMDG MD-11. I fly PMDG and CLS aircrafts. With CLS, I'm always at 60fps, but PMDG jumps around from the low 40's to 60.

Though the fps won't stay at 60 most of the time with the PMDG, I get smoother performance with my frames locked at 60fps. I tried 30fps. Even though it stayed at 29-30fps the whole time, I was getting quite a bit of stutters. Changed it to 60 and it was a huge improvement. I don't really know why but I did the test many times with the same result everytime.

    Just thought I'd share.

Also, I got a nice improvement using the compressed DXT clouds in REX. Using the REX weather engine, I used to get some bad stutters flying through very heavy clouds, but it went away after selecting the DXT clouds. The main difference I see is that the clouds look less sharp compared to using non DXT high res. But with DXT it has a smoother and softer look.

  17. Hello everyone,

I've recently switched over from FSX to FS9. I have the boxed version of the PMDG MD-11 for both fsx and fs9.

I just purchased the FS9 version last week.

I have a question about the sound in the FS9 version.... Is it normal for the sound to change as I look to the left and right of the VC? What I mean is, when I look to the left or right, I get more ambient sound (at least I think it's ambient sound), and as I look forward again, the sound is reduced.

I don't remember getting this in the FSX version.

I've already ticked the "allow sounds to play in external view" in the PMDG option section of fs9 as suggested in the MD-11 manual.

Is this normal for the FS9 version?

I'm not using any fancy sound system. Just sending the sound and picture directly to my lcd using the HDMI output from my GTX 560. I'm using the lcd's built in speakers.

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    Maurice
