What is happening to my FSX
I have recently re-installed my FSX deluxe edition from the 2 dvd discs. Now 2 things are happening that never happened the last time i had in installed: 1. Each time i put disc 1 in my dvd drive, it seems to want to 'repair' files or uninstall the program. This never happened when i first installed in several months ago 2. When i do get FSX up and running i can only play for a certain amount of time before i get a message saying the demo has finished ?? I have looked on google and it seems i have to activate FSX but how do i do this ?. There is a program on disc 1 titled activate.exe but this will not open. Please can someone help me ? Thanks

Problem re-installing FSX
Hi, I used to have FSX (with SP2) installed on my PC but uninstalled it a while ago as it was not being used and was taking up a lot of space. My son now wants me to install it again so he can use it. Last night I put disc 1 in my dvd drive to install and I got the following options: Repair – install all previous files added by previous install Remove – remove all files I firstly tried the repair option – it starts to install files but doesn’t get very far as I get a message saying it cannot find a particular file (Atlanta.bgl). It seems to be looking for the file in the folder where FSX was originally installed and not looking at the disc. I get the option to retry or cancel – retry ends up with the same message and cancel ends up cancelling the install and I end up back at my desktop. I have also tried the remove option but this doesn’t work either as I get a message about a windowsinstaller.dll file missing ? I went to the add/remove programs option in control panel and looked for anything related to FSX. There were a couple of programs relating to it (one third party add-on scenery (which was not Atlanta) and the FSX SP2) so I uninstalled both of those and I also done a search for any files with FSX in them and removed them (although these only appeared to be old flight plan files). I then tried installing FSX again but still came up with the issues described above. Can anyone advise what I should try ?. How do I get FSX to install from the disc and not look at where it was previously installed. Grateful for any advise please Many thanks Andrew

Saitek Throttle quadrant issue
Hi I have bought the yoke and quadrant as a kit and installed it on my pc over the weekend. I am having a couple of issues with the quadrant as follows which is spoiling my enjoyment and i would like to resolve them if possible: I am trying to use the left hand lever (with the black knob) as a throttle but whenever I push it up (slowly) nothing happens until I get to about the 75 mark and then the engines shoot upto 100% thrust – if I then move the lever down a fraction the engines go right back down again – I cannot seem to get a gentle increase on the throttle by moving the levers up slowly. I have tried adjusting the sensitivity and null zones within FSX but it makes no difference. I am sure this is not how the quadrant is supposed to work - can you advise what I am doing wrong or what I need to do to configure it correctly please ? I have assigned the flaps to the middle lever but the flaps do not extend or retract in stages – if I push the lever up to 25 nothing happens, to 50 and then 75 nothing happens – the flaps will only extend fully if I push the lever all the way up – can the quadrant not be configured so the flaps extend/retract in stages depending on how far you push the lever ? I am using FSX on a Vista 64 bit PC Thank you for any advice
