Do you have the same settings as in the screenshot posted before? Except number of objects? If yes, you could try to decrease world detail distance, it influences strongly the area, which is calculated. Do you use 32 or 64 bit version? I assume you have the osm+autogen version as this looks better in good old England. You could also try osm+only and only for this tile. And you could lower water reflection detail and anisotropic filter level.

If it is a standard airport, it's better to make a copy and rename it and to disable the original airpport in scenery_packs.ini. Then make the changes in the copy. Otherwise your work could be lost if you run an update of XPX. Another (maybe better) possibility is to make a special exclusion scenery between osm and standard airports and to add exclusions for all standard airports there, it works then as a filter for osm buildings and other objects, you don't like to see.

Seems more that it is a little problem in the Gatwick scenery above, there is an exclusion for facades missing. You can add this by WED or OE. Airport buildings are generated, if they are not tagged with hangar or airport in OSM. Many scenery designer are not aware of adding facades exclusions, especially if they don't have osm sceneries installed.

I'm glad that you have such results as I see in the screenshots. In most cases, ZL16 is sufficient, needs less memory, less time to load and less space on disk. If you can't see no difference, you have to wait longer that XPX can load the photo scenery in high resolution, 8GB per tile need some time. If there is no disk activity, all is done. I have some screenshots at simheaven.com showing the view of Placa Catalunya in Barcelona Spain with different zoom levels (ZL) from 500 ft and 2000 ft AGL. For my taste, ZL17 is for higher than 500 ft, ZL16 for higher than 2000 ft. There are also examples up to ZL 19, crazy.... sometimes I use ZL18 or ZL19 for helicopter sceneries.

sorry, I've forgot to add this: Maybe for the Orcas it's better to disable Japanese ships instead of enabling trees! (<- now it is!)

That is the disadvantage if I allow autogen forests, you may have trees where no trees are, but you get trees back, where osm data is very poor, e.g. in Portugal or on Orcas Islands. For my personal version, I've excluded autogen forests in Central Europe. You can do also by adding "PROPERTY sim/exclude_for ..." to the dsf file using dsfTool.exe and editor. I have made a macro in Notepad++, getting the values for the tile like "PROPERTY sim/west ..." and adding the exclusion automatically. There is nothing 'default' when I generate OSM files, I'm preparing and processing osm data in many steps to get out the most of osm2xp, adding multipolys (that's important to get bigger forests) and so on. I've written complex batch files to do this automatically (maybe I forget all in 3 or 6 months time *g*) and just hit the button to process all osm data of a continent. As I can see and user told me - at least for Central Europe - it's the most exact osm version you can get and even better than any payware on the market.

You could also try the Europe osm+autogen version in regions with less osm data together with "Europe Library" (and R2_Library). see this example for Barcelona where OSM data is only in some areas good:

Wow, thanks! I've tested GMaps long time ago to create photo sceneries, don't know that it now can extract objects from 3D-Warehouse. it's slow, taken already 6h for 18 of 662 objects, but doesn't matter as it can run background. I'm curious to the result!

Thanks for your post! That's not easy, doing bridges with facades... It's better to create a landmarks scenery with all those special buildings in Europe: Cathedrals, monuments, castles, bridges and so on. I don't know the legal situation, perhaps it is possible to use Google 3D objects. Has anyone experience with this? Or understands the TOS of Google Sketchup? http://www.google.com/intl/en/sketchup/3dwh/tos.html

And how does it look like? One test flight was from Lisbon to Kiev, it should be looking good with osm+autogen, large forests are missing in osm.

Thank you!!! I wish I would have more regional buildings I could implement... If you have some and want to share, please contact me!!

I'm adding to the Europe Library also uwespeed's "German Traffic Library" with his permission, which adds European cars and trains to your scenery and also we change the American style signs to blue European signs on highways. If you install this package, you'll only see it in Europe, outside will remain the same. If somebody could help us with typical and maybe regional objects for Europe, we'd appreciate that. This could be taxi cars, houses...

It was a short break, I'm working on the next topic. LyAvain modified houses and replaced them by objects from R2-Library (http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/68287-europaeische-autogen-gebaeude/ in German only), I added this to a European Library today and tried out with osm+autogen in small Swiss villages and Barcelona, where osm data is not perfect:
