That's nice .. doesn't change my approach on the matter as i don't know who they are and what their relationship is to the developer...

Maybe too clarify, BlackBox do not have to be "in the pocket" of Fenix developer - he is the captain of A320 for 20 years (now changing typerating to 747). For me and I think for many BlackBox as a real pilot with 30+ years experience is one of the biggest authority in the FlightSim industry (via Twitch and now mainly on YT). If you do not know him just watch few videos to have own view.

  2. I always wonder what is fun of using Vatsim when you are gonna use text instead of voice. The only one reason comes to my mind is when for example you have kids, who are sleeping and you do not want to disturb them - that is fine. Other than that...?

What at worst can happen when you are new to VATSIM and do sth wrong?

Will ATC kill you for that? - NO!

Will ATC yell at you? - NO!

Will ATC say to log off? - NO!

If you have common sense and know your aircraft (well, so you are able to enter hold, directs, etc.) and know BASIC phraseology - you are absolutely fine!

The only thing to avoid flying on VATSIM (as new member) is flying during busy events - thats the only way that ATC can (but do not have to) advice you to disconnect if you are unable execute ATC commands smoothly

  3. For me it's seems at least 2-3 months of waiting.

Please see the post from RSR from 01.10.2021: https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/main-forum/general-discussion-news-and-announcements/149672-01oct21-let-s-start-4q21-with-some-juicy-737-previews-shall-we

In this post he assumed the release date by the end of 2021, so 3 months after writing this post: "As September has progressed, we have seen an expected increase in development speed and as of this moment our schedule guidance is that the 737 will release to you in the current quarter"

But what is important he also stated that plane didn't enter the beta: " I will show you a few examples when we get around to late beta testing if they haven't been addressed already by Asobo"

So assuming from the latest post that they haven't entered the beta yet, we won't see the 737 until the end of 1Q for my taste (Assuming they enter beta week from now, I doubt that 1 month for beta will be sufficient, but maybe I am wrong?)

Just speculating, PMDG 737 is my day one purchase.

  4. I am very tempting buying it. Have 2 questions:

    • What can I see the Tobii Eye Tracker should be mounted on the monitor stand/arm. Is there any way to mount it when my monitor is mounted on the wall?
    • Zoom in/out feature. If they somehow implement this in the future - will it be rather software thingy to implement or it will be rather introduce it in the Eye Tracker 6?

    Arek

  5. Hello Guys,

I have dedicated SSD NVMe 1Tb for the X-Plane and addons. However the space available is shrinking.

I am thinking about buying few HDD to put mainly the scenery on it. My aim is to keep X-Plane on SSD NVMe, but scenery like Airports/ORBX/Ortho, etc. on new HDD drives and link it using the addon like xToolbox.

My question is, will I notice a significant decrease in loading times in X-Plane booting using these method? Or the booting times does not matter as long as the X-Plane is installed on the SSD?

    Thank you for your help.

  6. Hello Guys,

I have dedicated SSD NVMe 1Tb for the P3D and addons. However the space available is shrinking.

I am thinking about buying few HDD to put mainly the scenery on it. My aim is to keep P3D SSD NVMe, but scenery like Airports/ORBX, etc. on new HDD drives and link it using the Addon XML method.

My question is, will I notice a significant decrease in loading times in P3D booting using these method? Or the booting times does not matter as long as the P3D is installed on the SSD?

    Thank you for your help.

  7. Hello Guys,

I have dedicated SSD NVMe 1Tb for the MSFS and addons. However the space available is shrinking.

I am thinking about buying few HDD to put mainly the scenery on it. My aim is to keep MSFS SSD NVMe, but scenery like Airports/ORBX, etc. on new HDD drives and link it using Addon Linker for MSFS

My question is, will I notice a significant decrease in loading times in MSFS booting using these method? Or the booting times does not matter as long as the MSFS is installed on the SSD?

    Thank you for your help.

Both the Fenix A320 and the PMDG NG3 are in alpha.

Aamir from Fenix at one point said beta was "weeks away", but this during the summer, and since then we've had no further insight into a release window or roadmap to BETA. As for the NG3, the roadmap has been nudged 4 times since its first announcement. The first roadmap was a 4Q20 or 1Q21 release, the 2nd roadmap was a 3Q21 or 4Q21 release. The 3rd roadmap was a 4Q21 release, and the most recent roadmap has been "no release date estimate," which puts the NG3 in the same spot as the Fenix A320.

This leaves us with no release date for any of the "study level" aircraft in development for MSFS, (Leonardo MD80, PMDG NG3 / 777 / 747 / 757, Fenix Sim A320, FBW A320 / A380) but if I were a betting man, and I grew up in Las Vegas NV, I'd say we'll see at least the Fenix A320, Leonardo MD80, and PMDG NG3 by this time next year.

    We'll see...

Good point. I will add to you list at least Milviz ATR 72-600, JustFlight BAE 146, iniBuilds A310, TFDI MD11 - These are aircrafts for which some "previews" were released

Let's not forget about aircraft that can be "suddenly" released, because the dev decided not to release any development progress info:

We have FS Labs (they haven't disclosed anything but there is MSFS option within their FS Labs Control Center)

    Aerosoft is working on A330

QualityWings announced in 1Q 2021 that 787 will be released in 3Q 2021, but then due to some difficulties (I assume similar to PMDG/Fenix) they decided to not provide any release timeline

  9. The problem with PMDG is that they still do good products, yes, but they are no longer a precursor in Flight Sim Industry (in comparison to FS Labs, Leonardo, iniBuilds in X-Plane)

These companies have made huge progress since last few years. To name a few things PMDG haven't implemented in their aircrafts like competition:

    • CPDLC feature - nowadays in the high fidelity/top rated addon in my opinion it is a must, PMDG do not have that (FS Labs, Leonardo, iniBuilds have it)
    • Automated GSX integration
    • Unfinished EFB (let compare it to the FS Labs). They have implemented EFB to the all prodcuts (737/747/777), yes. But for example for Performance Calculator you can only calculate speeds for full lenght runway, like really? There is inop button for the "shortening" option, but yet still no implemented. Compare it with FS Labs and you can see the difference

The thing is the PMDG is no longer developing "polished" prodcucts like it used to.

The 777 is the great example. You have to pay 70 bucks for the new variant (777-200ER) but you receive unfinished EFB, old VC cockpit, no LNAV update, etc. Once again compare it to the FS Labs A320/A321 sharklet and how they approached that.

    ^ this.

Gotta love pmdg’s products but their habit of long-winded waffly announcements that carefully under-promise, which actually turn out to be long-winded waffly announcements that over-promise, is beyond parody.

    This

PMDG is no longer the precursor in the Flight Sim Industry unfortunately (in comparison to FS Labs and iniBuilds for example)

  11. Yeah, very strange info and I am really surprised regarding the 737 release. I didnt expect 2021 release but till today I thought that Q1 2022 will be 100% possible, not anymore it seems.

Its strange becasue PMDG seems to cooperate with Asobo since last few months (at least). What is more about 1.5 months ago RR was very confident with the before Christmas release. What happened since this 1.5 months that PMDG is not confident giving specific date.

  12. They did it again! Exterior is 767-400ER, but interior is B777!

They also disabled to comment post about release on Facebook

    One word: pathetic

    https://captainsim.net/products/m764/m764/

The 764 Captain package delivers a digital replica of the Boeing 767-400ER wearing Captain Sim House livery.

The 767-400ER features a 21.1-foot (6.43 m) stretch over the 767-300, for a total length of 201.25 feet (61.3 m). The wingspan is also increased by 14.3 feet (4.36 m) through the addition of raked wingtips. The exit configuration uses six main cabin doors and two smaller exit doors behind the wings, similar to certain 767-300ERs. Other differences include an updated cockpit, redesigned landing gear, and the 777-style interior.
