  1. Hello, I´ve been trying to get to grips with DSR in P3D but, apparently, still haven´t been able to make it work properly. I´ve followed lots of advices found here on the forums, but, whenever I select a higher resolution on P3D settings, all I get is a huge mouse cursor and no apparent visual improvements. From what I´ve read, it should be the opposite (tiny letters on the upper menus and a regular mouse cursor). Also, i´m still seeing a significant amount of shimmering when panning around, although the anti-aliasing seems to be ok (this is with 8xMSAA and 16xAF selected straight in P3D´s settings). Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Marcelo Torres
  2. Ian, I´ve settled at 8x and I´m getting good results regarding quality and performance. Also, apparently, transferring the anisotropic filtering from Inspector to FSX itself seemed to have a substantial impact on my system. Marcelo Torres
  3. Thank you very much for your answers, It is, indeed, a matter of trial and error. I´m yet to do some more conclusive testing, but following Ian´s suggestion, apparently I was able to eliminate the issue by lowering the level of anti-aliasing on Inspector and applying anisotropic filtering straight from the FSX settings. I´ll also test if some ASN settings have any interference, especially in heavy weather situations. Marcelo Torres
  4. Hi, I have a reasonably powerful computer with an i7 4770K running at 4.5GHz and a GTX 780 graphics card. My settings in FSX are generally conservative with moderate autogen and no AI traffic of any kind, as well as a clean FSX.cfg except for the mandatory fixes. I´m also running 1024 textures exclusively, all of this trying to minimize chances of having OOMs. However, when flying complex paywares I´m observing a sudden fps drop immediately after take-off, from 30 fps on the take-off roll to about 10 in the climb-out. Performance then normalizes after a certain altitude and stays solid for the rest of the flight, until on approach to land, when it once again falls to the 10 fps region. This happens even in default airports. I´m running ASN for weather and have FTX Global and Vector installed, but nothing more than that. I´ve noticed that on approach, if I move the autogen slider to "none" the fps will recover to 30. Then, if I move the slider back to "dense", fps will stay at 30 even with all the autogen back. So I presume something is holding the fps but I´m yet to find out what is happening. Any help will be much appreciated, Marcelo Torres
  5. Hi, Currently in the transition between DX9 and DX10, I´ve been able to get very good Anti-Aliasing with the DX10 fixer and NVidia Inspector. The next step is trying to improve bloom, colors and contrast like I used to have in DX9 with ENB. I started using SweetFX and, while working nicely for colors, it´s totally ruining the AA I´ve set before. The scenery is jagged , shimmering and without definition. I´ve already tried a fix for turning off SMAA, but still to no avail. It seems like SweetFX is overriding the AA and I can´t disable this feature. Any ideas will be appreciated Thanks! Marcelo Torres
  6. Hi everyone, I´ve posted a first impression on this issue for the first time in the FS9 forum, but as it evolved I decided to ask here as well, cause it also relates to FSX. I was running FS9 for years with no issues whatsoever, in an i7 2.67Ghz with 8GB and a GTS250. Changed the GTS250 for a GTX760 about a month ago and it kept running fine. Then I had a conflict with an add-on and FSUIPC that ruined my fps and had to reinstall FS9. After reinstalling, I started to have lots of problems on 2D panels, especially when changing views, opening/closing sub-panels or clicking on the panel itself: noticeable hangs, flickering, tearing, blurriness (when using Inspector´s FXAA) and quite strong flashes (when using ENB or SweetFX). It all happens in a fraction of a second and always when changing views or opening panels, but it happens everytime and became quite annoying. Then, I decided to install FSX to see what happens and, indeed, I got the same results as in FS9. Installed other drivers and got the same results. Reinstalled Windows 7 64, together with DirectX 9 and 11 latest versions, and the same thing. Installed my old GTS250 in place of the GTX760 together with older drivers, and still the same thing. After lots of testing, my last effort was to install FSX on another computer, a brand new i7 3770K, using the same GTX760, and, to my surprise, all the flashing and flickering stuff was still there. I really don´t know what to do anymore after having the same issue on two almost completely different systems, especially considering that the simulators ran so well for so many years, and I ran out of ideas for the cause, so I come here to ask for a possible solution or something that I´m missing. Best regards, Marcelo
  7. Hi Jim, Thanks for your input. I´ve elaborated on the issue and concluded it´s not directly related to ENB, although it exacerbates the problem. With a clean FS9 install, I´m experiencing lags when changing 2D views or opening 2D panels. With FXAA selected through NVidia Inspector, I also get some blurries on the whole screen, altogether with the lagging, when changing views. It happens with any aircraft but is much more evident with complex payware stuff (like the Mad Dog above) than with the defaults. I´ve tried pretty much everything: ended up doing a complete reinstall of Windows 7, reinstalled FS9 from two different sources, replaced my GTX 760 for an old GTS 250, installed some older drivers, and the problem still persists. The curious thing is that FS9 used to work perfecly with the same config, but since I had to reinstall it I can´t find a clue to solve this issue, which is present in every reinstall I did after. Something else that I´ve observed: when selecting "End Flight" through the menu, the upper part of the screen (with the front view and the upper part of the 2D panel) stays on screen for a second, while the lower part goes dark. I think this is also related to the issue I´m experiencing. Best regards, Marcelo Torres
  8. Hi everyone, Lately I´ve been running into some weird problems when using ENB or SweetFX. I had ENB running perfectly til some days ago when I had to reinstall FS9. Now, with no changes whatsoever to any configuration or hardware, I´ve been experiecing this kind of flashing behavior whenever I change views or open windows in 2D panels: Note that it doesn´t show this kind of purpish color every time. Depending on the ENB settings, it may get completely dark or bright, or anything in between. But it always does that whenever changing views, which is getting pretty anoying. My system specs: Intel Core i7 2.67 8GB RAM GTX 760 Any light on that will be much appreciated! Best regards Marcelo Torres
