  1. Hi - good to hear from you; I was going to send you a message but have been too busy the last days. Let’s speak next week. I am far from civilisation right now. Great with the cranes and containers; another thing which could need an upgrade is oil storage tanks. The MSFS version mostly comes with windows….
  2. They are already added as well as yachts and other stuff😀
  3. Obviously, Dunball Wharf will be included. I was just waiting for you to ask. I have several plimsollers which could fit… screenshot in a couple of days as I am on holiday with my better half, and she is less fan of ships than I😉
  4. It will work both with MSFS 2020 and 2024 😀
  5. Last post for today - GAIST Harbors Miami.
  6. Esbjerg with Esvagt Leah, Esvagt Heidi, Svitzer Titan, Ark Dania and Detector - all frequent there in real life.
  7. @Virtual-Chris here you go... English Bay, Vancouver
  8. I will add it for sure; the addition of a medium sized harbour doesn't take more than 20-30 minutes if one knows the library well... The most time consuming is to remember ship names to get the right models there.
  9. If you have a drawing, you can always ship it to me in PM and it can come on the list 😄
  10. Together with the next release of GAIST there will be a separate new package GAIST Harbors. It will place static ships in a great number of harbors worldwide using the close to 3000 ships included in the GAIST library. The project supplements GAIST traffic and focuses on commercial and naval vessels, but only places a limited number of leisure boats, as there is already excellent addons placing static leisure boats. In fact I have tried to make sure the placement of vessels matches with Mamudesigns Marina addon. The project has progressed fast in the last weeks and below some screenshots. The tine Basque Getaria harbor near San Sebastian, Spain. Mamudesign to the left and typical Basque fishing boats from GAIST to the right and in the background. The Port of Rotterdam, Netherlands with the combination of GAIST Harbors and GAIST offline traffic. Bremerhaven, Germany, again with GAIST offline traffic in the foreground and GAIST Harbors static ships in the background St. Jean de Luz near the border between France and Spain including GAIST Harbors leisure boasts as well Honolulu, Haweii including some of the new typical Hawaiian longline tuna boats which will come in GAIST version 7.2 Barcelona, Spain. The larger yachts are all from GAIST Harbors while the smaller boats are from Mamudesigns. There is also a photogrammetry yacht to the left that I could't hide without going radical with exclusions files. Another photogrammetry yacht is hidden inside one of the larger yachts.
  11. Thanks for the observation on the wakes. I will look at the wakes sometime soon. Not for the next release which will be in about 3 weeks as I need to work on wakes when I am home and have some continuous days available for programming and testing. While I am travelling I mostly do modelling which I can jump to and from. Programming requires more concentration.
  12. I had a slight idea that he actually did convert them long ago and there they are... Some of the oldies are already in the project because they are still going strong in real life and can actually be taken directly from GAIST... Also I did aditional old timers since the P3D project so there is a nice base, but it would at last time be for limited areas only. It would be nice to know if anybody has back ported airports to 1960'ies in MSFS like it was the case with CalClassic in FSX.
  13. And a small update... Look what Knud found on his harddrive....Already converted to Blender and MSFS...
  14. You mean these old ones... 😄 I just spoke with Knud from the GAIST team who helped with conversion of the GAIST models from FSX/P3D to MSFS and maybe there is hope, but don't expect anything very soon. We still both have models without LODs and ships without helipads and wakes and ...
  15. It’s a rainy day outside, bicycle is parked, house is cleaned so no pressure for doing other stuff… 😄 The first ships in GAIST where all big… those you can see from a big distance after all it is a flight simulator… With more than a thousand unique models now it is about filling gaps in the fleet as this is again something which can improve match rate. So today my Blender had to give birth to a catamaran yacht - the first in the fleet. Still just work in progress, but it should be done before the rain stops… Also thanks to those who have chosen to donate - another gap to fill was medium sized tanker around 150 m and that was filled by purchasing a model. Now it needs to be completed with LODs, lights and wakes, but that is faster than starting from scratch. The donations were also used to purchase new people for the boats. I used to do people myself, though even with a lot of time spent on modeling results were so so - today the 3D scanned people makes life a lot easier.
  16. As there is not in the data provided by MSFS any data saying inland boat, the only way we can currently trick the matching is by having long a narrow models as most inland vessels are long and narrow... Now sailing ships are usually also longer and narrower than most ocean going ships, so this is why you get three masters on the river... In principle we can create inland ships, but they will then also risk to appear on oceans unless we put them in a separate package, where you would then have to select package Inland-GAIST or Ocean-GAIST before your flights. The simple thing would be to have more specific ship type data flowing and be able to define in the sim.cfg, because the data does exist.
  17. Together with Manfred Siedler - alias Fischkopp - we just released a small extra route package for European waters. These are routes that Manfred did to expand the coverage of GAIST and which was previously hosted on his old domain simdocks. As that is now closed we decided to put them first as a separate add-on and from next major update as an integrated part of GAIST. The routes focus in particular on the Baltic Sea, the Elb, and the Eastern Mediterranean, but adds traffic broadly across European waters with around 4000 additional ship movements. You can find the package here: GAIST Extra Routes for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS MSC Virtuosa inbound for Hamburg
  18. Yes, they are in the scenery folder. Try to exit the sim and start again in the same area - or depending on where you are dive down... if you look at fishing boats they will not be visible from much altitude. I use it to spot ships with not too many problems in 2024 except that it can't follow when I jump from area to area to test traffic without exiting the sim.
  19. In version 7.1 the route folder is inside the main folder - you should have everything you need 😄
  20. I did a small test on the West Coast of France today with GAIST in offline mode in MSFS 2024 and with the scene of Ouessant by YvesP6 installed LFEC Ouessant FS2024 for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS I got to the Jument lighthouse just as La Recouvrance passed
  21. It is one of the small changes in V7.1 - she now appears as a MILITARY_OPS and not as a sailing ship. But based on that combined with flag and size the match module can identify her correctly.
  22. No, Great Lakes is not included in 7.1 if you talk about routes. The altitude bug which prevented ship models from appearing correctly on water surfaces above ocean level still persists in MSFS 2020, but it is corrected by Asobo in MSFS 2024. This means that the same models can not be used for the two simulators. However, in live mode in MSFS 2024 you will have ships on the Great Lakes just like you actually will have ships on all water surfaces including rivers. Unfortunately the simulator match module does not include IMO or MMSI information so you might see "wrong" ship types on the Lakes or on rivers, however, I did already also observe some of the right ships including the Equinox class from Canadian company Algoma and also the Paul R.Tregurtha.
  23. Real time traffic at anchorage off île Sainte Marguerite, France
  24. One of the new boats in V7.1 - here at anchor near île Sainte Marguerite between Cannes and Antibes in the South of France. The model was purchased for donation money and adjusted slightly with navigation lights and passengers.
  25. No need to be sorry... I am sure that question will come 250 times in the next couple of days.
