  1. I was reading the manual. It doesn't say very much, but it does have a good history of the bird. It does mention, "Partly simulated pneumatic system." What is a pneumatic system, and does partly simulated mean this isn't very realistic?
  2. Nope Dead link Account suspended.
  3. How do you buy scenery from around 10k?
  4. Older commercial aircraft, and a little bush flying in Alaska. I have been to Alaska, and I don't think any software could remotely represent it's beauty.
  5. You really cleared that up. What a great response. I love how you gave pro/cons for both. I am thinking of a product called REX textures. What additional packages would work well with it?
  6. Sadly, you can't download it anymore. Why wouldn't this be more popular? Why doesn't anyone want photorealistic scenery? Why would anyone put so much money in FSX? For that price, I would expect a much more realistic simulator.
  7. Just got it, but there are some problems -- I think. First, the panel labels are in English. Only a few are in Russian. I doubt this exists on the real plane. Second, There is a GPS button on the panel, but there is no GPS in the cockpit. You just get a pop-window GPS. What is up with that? Third, there is this darn annoying beeping from the minute you get into the cockpit.
  8. Maybe Orbx global by itself is the way to go.
  9. I thought the scenery was fake (auto-generated) in X-Plane, not photo scenery? I must say before I make another purchase, that I am thinking about X-Plane, but it lacks so much. That seems awfully expensive and inconvenient.
  10. There must be other options?
  11. Thanks for you help mad dog, Um, $3k is a lot too. There are so many options. You have meshes like FSGenesis, texture replacements, individual cities, airports, etc., etc. I don't know where to begin. As for what I am looking for? The World, as accurate as possible. Thanks, but I don't wan't something downloading from a service. It would be OK if TileProxy simply downloaded everything, but I don't think it does that.
  12. Come on guys, I want realistic global scenery. It is the one things that separates FSX from X-Plane and others. I am starting to look at scenery packages, and they cover very little for a lot of money. What are the best options for someone who is using FSX mainly for geography, and doesn't want to spend $10k+ for all these scenery packages?
  13. Flight simulator is looking more disappointing every day ;-(
  14. Really? I didn't know that. In what way?
  15. I was wondering how many FSX users play DCS-World, or another combat simulator like IL-2? The flight models are realistic (as realistic as FSX I think), and you get to blow-up things :-)
