  1. Thank you Anthony. Guess imma have to read more reviews to be able to make up my mind 😛
  2. Thank you for your opinion 🙂 I fly mostly airliners but within airliners I really switch from Boeing to Airbus to CRJ pretty often. So I guess the detent thing could get annoying.
  3. Hey all. At the moment I am really debating on which throttle I should get next. As a backstory: I've been simming since like 2010 and since then I've been using the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke with the throttle and rudder pedals. Last year I switched my yoke to the Honeycomb Alpha (and was like wow, I didnt know a yoke could be that much better!) Well, all the time the Saitek Throttle was getting on my nerves with that stupid axis flutter/stutter, I then cleaned it and it worked flawlessly, not a single stutter at all. Then I got the Alpha, sold the Saitek Yoke/Throttle and got a standalone Saitek/Logitech Throttle. And this stupid thing just has this axis stutter since new. I even took it apart to clean it on the day I received it because it was so bad and it didn't do a single thing. (On my old Saitek throttle cleaning the Potentiometers worked absolute wonders!!). Well ok, rant over. Anyways, since I got into the Honeycomb Alpha I kinda also knew about the Honeycomb Bravo. And as I've been honestly very impressed with the Alpha I was actually certain I'd get the Bravo as well (If its ever gonna be available again). But in the meantime I have informed myself and am kinda divided. Like I've said, because of the Alpha my expectations were/are high and I think the Bravo really is great. But I've also heard stuff that would be negative for me. Firstly, it seemingly still has potentiometers, which makes me really get flashbacks of the Saitek Throttle Axis jumping around and being absolute ****. On the other hand I trust Honeycomb to deliver, so I'd guess the potentiometers would be of higher quality and stuff like this shouldn't be the problem? Secondly, I was under the impression that the commercial levers with their "functioning reverse thrust levers" were axis. They're not. They're buttons which means it's the same as in the Logitech Throttle. And assignin the "reverse" of the Logitech Throttle to the "decrease Throttle" command in P3D does, for whatever reason not work as well as the F2 keyboard button does. At least not with every addon aircraft (PMDG 737/747/777, Aerosoft CRJ&Airbus, Fslabs Airbus). So this is quite the bummer for me. I'd love to actually have functioning reverse levers as it just gives so much more immersion than tapping the F2 key on your keyboard. Ok, so there's that. I also got to know about the Thrustmaster Airbus stuff. I'm still highly interested in the sidestick, but the throttle also came to my mind. It has hall-sensors, so no potentiometers (big plus) and actually has a functioning reverse axis. (Although from my understanding, the whole range of the thrust levers is one axis, where the reverse would be a fraction of that axis' range, which would in turn result in quite much configuring for several addon airplanes to have it working like it should?). But besides that, the throttle also has the detents for CLB/FLX and TOGA, which are removable but require to be screwed out. That's kind of a turnoff for me, as it'd mean I'd need to remove the detents every time I fly something else than an Airbus. So now I don't really know which one I should get? Thing is, the Bravo would be cool because its so versatile (what would I do if I had the Airbus Throttle and wanted to fly a 4 engined aircraft?) On the other hand the Airbus one would be cool because it has actually functioning reversers and better sensors, rather than potentiometers. But I'd imagine it's so annoying to set up everytime I fly a different aircraft. Like I really just wanna have a nice throttle without any fluctuating/stuttering axis. A nicely working reverser function would be cool as well. Also having an axis for every single engine would be appreciated as well. I don't really know about the Bravo's many buttons. I imagine I don't really require the Autopilot panel of the Bravo (as it probably wouldn't work with the addon aircrafts anyways) on the other hand the gear lever is super nice and the flap button/lever in the cessna style as well. And it'd really complete my setup. Before I forget it, I am using Prepar3Dv4 as of now and have the PMDG 737/747/777 and also the Airbus by FSLabs and the Aerosoft A330 and CRJ as well (whereas I'd really like to enjoy the latter with a good thrust quadrant as it doesn't have autothrust). I really hope y'all stuck this far with me and actually get what I wanna say. I just don't know what I should get, as the pro's and con's of both seemingly outweigh each other. Maybe there's an alternative to them I don't know about? I'm still tending to go for the Honeycomb Bravo as I think it's better suited for me. Thank you all.
  4. Hello Keven, I still have this problem. This time it occured when I was starting to taxi to the take off runway. About 25mins into the sim session I'd say. I've only noticed this happening since I applied the affinity mask entry/tweak. It's not caused by bad fps, as it is not just generally stuttering, but as I'd pause the sim a 100 times per second. Looking around is working fluently then stops and immediately goes fluid again, but this happens quite fast which makes chaseplane unuseable while it is happening. I then proceed to shutdown ChasePlane and after restarting it works flawlessly till the end of the flight. I can just assume that it has to do something with the AffinityMask tweak. I'm also using the latest version (Experimental). Cheers
  5. Hello, I was just approaching FlyTampa's Toronto as I had to pause the sim shortly and while unpausing it froze and didn't respond, after 20secs not responding it just shut down. No crash log or anything. Same happened while I was enroute to Frankfurt (Aerosoft) coming from San Francisco (FlightBeam). But that time I did not pause the sim or anything. This happened while flying the PMDG 747v3, both times there was no crash log or anything, just no response and then closing... Any ideas? Didn't have any Flightsim crashes since ages, quite frustrating.
  6. Ok, not really problems.. v 0.3.70 Beta, my thoughts that it'd be because of the beta. But the problems only occured since yesterday since I changed/edited the affinity mask setting, and after restarting chaseplane they were gone..
  7. Hey, since yesterday I set Affinity Mask to 84 in the Prepar3D.cfg.. And now I am experiencing some issues with Chaseplane, for example after like 10min. it starts to stutter and I need to restart it.I have read that there are some problems with ChasePlane and Affinity Mask, when autostart is enabled, is that problem still current? Or can I resolve this issue without manually starting ChasePlane? Thanks :)
  8. No, if I do regional routes then in Europe, I do like to fly to KSFO though, but I figure I'll rather buy airport sceneries and openLC or stuff like that at some point later..
  9. I have it and it slightly betters the Frames, at least for me, while keeping the same density. Plus they look better than the default ones.
  10. Ok, so if I‘d buy openLC I‘d still not get accurate mountains? But on the product page there is a picture of a damn nicely looking volcano and some nice mountains. Anyway, I figured I wouldn‘t need vector that much, but would LC europe make sense without vector? Also, if I‘d buy the region Germany South I‘d kind of have vector and lc with that (for Germany south only ofc) plus even more accurate buildings etc etc. ? I hope I‘m not confusing people too much :D Also, I have FTX Global, if I‘d buy Germany South would I see kind of a „hard“ border between Germany North or other countries where I have no ORBX scenery, or is there a fluent border. (Speaking from VFR like addons where you could cleary see between borders where you have a scenery and where you have not..) And last but not least, I heard from vector or LC (can‘t recall it correctly) there would be some elevation problems with add on airports. Is that true?
  11. Ok so I should rather get OpenLc and Vector. Thing is I don‘t wanna loose much more frames and when you say vector is frame dropping I‘m not so sure. One of the things I‘d really like to have are some better more accurate mountains in europe, especially the alps. I guess as I‘m not a VFR flyer a region like Southern Germany wouldn‘t make so much sense? thanks for the answers
  12. Hello fellow simmers, as ORBX Products are reduced drastically and I really wanna up my sim I‘m kind of not decided on what I should buy. About me; I fly big jets only, no GA aircraft. As I‘m from Germany I fly mainly in Europe but at the moment I prefer long hauls to destinations all over the world. Now I already have FTX Global. And there is vector and Europe LC. From my understandings vector displays coastlines and stuff like streets more accurately? Then LC Europe ensures that I get more accurate mesh (Alps for example?). Do I get that right? Now there are also the regions like ORBX Germany South. In case I would have Vector and OpenLC Europe, what would be the role of Germany South? Does it completely redo Southern Germany with custom buildings etc? So in that case southern Germany would be even more accurate than the rest of Europe with vector and openLC? Lastly, what would you recommend me to buy? Are there sales more often on ORBX products? Cheers
  13. Oh well, I think it is since starting the flight, but if it's gonna get fixed then everything's good :D
  14. Hey there, I just started noticing this yesterday while doing a night flight, but main panel brightness switch does not turn on everything it should turn on anymore. For example my flaps indicator or the autobrake switch is left completely dark. Is there a setting in the sim which could cause this? Regards
  15. I was just wondering, as in the videos I watched where I wanted to see what they press on the clock I actually never saw a pilot reaching out to the actual clock and starting the ET Timer... Anyway thanks for the answers :)
  16. Oh yeah I did forget about the signature. What I mean is, you have the rotary knob on the clock itself which reads ET, I always thought it would be running from gate to gate. Then you have the clock button on the glareshield, as in the NGX, which goes up to 100 and then resets in the 747. (I'm flying in the NGX right now and I see here it resets at 60, in the 747 at 100). So the clock button on the glareshield is used for holdings or something similiar, and the rotary elapsed time switch gets activated seconds before take off, do I get that right? Kind of makes sense, doesnt it...
  17. So, I wanna ask a kind of silly question. When I fly the 747, and I am starting the pushback I start the ET timer. So far so good, when I start the takeoff roll I then press the clock button on the glareshield which is a stopwatch essentially. Now, I know it from the NGX or Airbus that once you reach one hour it goes 01:00 but the 747 just goes 60 and then up to 100. How am I supposed to read it? Do I actually need to calculate how many hours I've flown based on GMT time and then add the minutes of the stopwatch? I hope somebody can help me with this, It has been really messing with my mind lately :D
  18. I‘d also like to see them adding actual dynamic lighting into the scenery. Du is full of floodlights, I‘d really love to see them „working“..
  19. I'm also asking myself if we have a steering tiller in every airplane now that you can select an axis to it in V4?
  20. Hello, I'm using P3D v3 at the moment, having quite a few add ons and everything is working flawlessly, no CTDs or anything. Airplane Add Ons are: Aerosoft Airbus (wanna switch to FSL anyway) Aerosoft CRJ PMDG NGX PMDG 747 Majestic Dash 8 Now, besides the Airbusses and the Dash8 which is actually coming to V4 this month, there are no incompatibilities. But to the scenerys. I'm using quite many of Taxi2Gate, FlyTampa, Aerosoft etc. (I even made my own map on google so that I can choose destinations lol https://www.google.de/maps/@8.0677372,-0.3039923,3z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!6m1!1s1td8j8QAzfd8s4CfG5eAv22WLYYU ). But here we come to my little personal problem with the possible switch to V4: Aerosoft charges tremendous prices for their V4 versions. Is that the same with other Add On developers? I'm also using ASN with some freeware cloud/sky textures combined with REX Essentials Overdrive. I'm also flying on VATSIM with vPilot and using EzDok (the old one) with TrackIR. Are there any problems I should expect when switching to V4 in the not-that-far-away-future? I kinda don't really see the point in it now, as the performance at least framewise is still not really better, dynamic lighting kind of scares me as I think it is kind of just another factor to make the sim unstable. But now that Qualitywings has released their 787 and from what I've heard they're only doing a Prepar3D V4 version (can anyone confirm that and besides that, why? FSX and Prepar3D 32Bit seem to have more in common than 64Bit(?) ) I hope someone is willing to give some advice in general to me. Thanks very much :)
  21. Hello, I just stood up early today to do a few morning flights with the PMDG NGX. I selected everything in the menu (PMDG 737-800NGX, Aerosoft Frankfurt V2) and then loaded up into the flight. As soon as the loading bar reached 100% a "fatal error" occured and the sim shut down. Strangely I saw the fatal error window 2 times and had to click it away two times. Like always I then went into the event viewer to see if I can maybe resolve the issue. Faulty module? unknown. Great. Now I have googled some solutions what it could be. I tried out following: Reinstall Simconnect 10.0.61259.0, as that is as far as I know the NGX related Simconnect module as I first thought there would be a problem with the NGX. But it didn't help. Then I read that maybe FSDreamteams GSX might be causing trouble, so I ran the Couatl Updater. Nothing. I reinstalled FSUIPC4 - nothing. I also downloaded the latest Version of the V3.4 client (which was already installed before anyway but I wanted to reinstall it). Reinstalled it and - nothing. I restarted my computer and then started up the sim again. Default Jet, Default Airbase. It loaded fine, then I moved to plane to Frankfurt - it loaded fine. Changed to NGX - still no crash. Then reset the time to the local time and simultaneously started FS2Crew and it crashed again. And since that it continues to crash. I've also observed that it happens everytime. Doesnt matter if its the default jet or the NGX, doesnt matter which airport. I mean it wouldn't be that big of a problem if I knew which module it was, but as its "unknown" I really have no clue and am quite frustrated :( The thing is, I started up the sim yesterday, just to check something and it loaded fine. My last flight was on last weekend and it worked fine (until the part that the PMDG 747 caused a CTD, but I guess thats another issue). I really didn't change anything on the system, which is why I completely cannot understand what is causing the problem since today. Thanks. UPDATE 1: So I just tested out a bit more and came to the conclusion: Prepar3D shuts down as soon as I load a flight without the default F22. E.g. default F22 and Eglin AFB - working fine. As soon as I select another airplane (tested with Aerosoft Airbus and PMDG NGX now) even at the default AFB the sim crashes as soon as the loading is complete. I also updated the NGX but that obviously didn't help. Now I'd say it is safe to assume that the problems are the Add On aircraft. Now, loading up the F22 first and then selecting an Add On aircraft lets it load for about 5 secs, but then it also crashes. So what could be the cause? From one day into another? Any solutions? UPDATE 2: I am able to load into the PMDG NGX fine, when using the Default Airport Eglin AFB from the default flight. I can also load the NGX directly from the menu into Aerosoft's EDDS Stuttgart. But into Frankfurt v2? Nope. Also, the Aerosoft Airbus doesn't work at all, doesn't matter which airport, it always crashes at 100% loading. The thing which confuses me so much is that it just occured out of nowhere. Yesterday I loaded a flight into Default Innsbruck LOWI with the NGX and everything was fine. I've had several CTD's before, when I was flying more frequently until last week, but they always occured on the PMDG 747 after a longer flight time, so I guess there is no relation in that. Lik described above, there is no faulty module, it just crashes at 100%. I've also read that the migration tool could've been causing trouble, so I started it up to see if everything is alright. To my surprise it asked for the activation key and path of Prepar3D, so I did that and also re-enabled the redirection. After doing that, I was able to load the PMDG NGX into the Default Eglins AFB. (chronologically this should've been at the start of Update 2.). I will try to disable the redirection, but I don't think that this has got anything to do with that. If someone needs my dll.xml or cfg or anything I can post it. Thanks in advance, I'm really lost right now
  22. "Hey guys, I know you are not even close to finishing the Citation s550 II but how to navigate with it? It doesnt has a FMS or does it? And how's the Hawker doing along? Have a nice week vor 20 Stunden It will have an FMS. Carenado vor 19 Stunden My two favourite Bizjets, the Citation and the Hawker 850, with the Visual Quality of Carenado and a full functional FMS . Thanks guys, you seriously made my day!
