Contrails & condensation effects on plane
RuhrFlyer replied to RuhrFlyer's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
All those beatiful videos showing the sim..counting down the days already. But still, where are these effects? 😃 how should i recognize ai traffic in the future on those many flights around the globe?😅 -
July 2nd, 2020 - Development/Insider Update
RuhrFlyer replied to ChaoticBeauty's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
BigDee, what are you trying to tell us here? Im trying to spend as less time as possible on your statement, as the topic is the new update. - the 787 is fully fly by wire. There is no mechanical back up - the highest order regarding the 737max - i don't have to go in detail here - you can find exactly the same stickers on any boeing, embraer, etc. Jet. Developed for monkeys by monkeys. Yes sure, monkeys go several years to university for that. But I'm sure you could do better. Nevertheless, nice update again. I like the pictures 😊 -
June 18th, 2020 - Development Update
RuhrFlyer replied to ChaoticBeauty's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
As always a great update 🙂 maybe the alpha testers can give a hint on that- is there a smoke system in development? Especially on the high altitude shots I am missing some contrails behind the 747 and A320 😀 -
Regarding the clouds I totally agree, they are just beautiful. From my point of view the visibilty/atmosphere is spot on from what I see. Especially in higher altitudes the visbilty is far better modeled compared to the current sims. Flying in high altitudes the visibilty should be much better, as the air is normally clearer.

As we have already seen many beautiful shots of the weather and effects on the plane like icing, i would be really intersted to see some high altitude scenes with the a320/747 drawing some nice contrails in the sky. Would be awsome to see a crowded sky with airliner air to air's in the next ifr episode. Really cant wait for the new sim anymore 😃

Ask Dovetail Games about DTG Flight School & Flight Simulator
RuhrFlyer replied to DTG Martin's topic in Hangar Chat
Hi Martin, thank you very much for answering our questions! I am really looking forward to the new flight sim! As you already mentioned some new effects on the new flight sim, such as such as dynamic range rendering (HDR), atmospheric light scattering and physically based rendering (PBR), I would like to get some more information about the improvements on the "visuals" (if possible at this point) Especially the visualisation of the atmosphere could be improved compared to FSX in my opinon. Will there be some kind of particle system wich makes it possible to have very high view diestances/clear air at high altitudes and lower view distances in lower altitudes? In my optinion engines like DCS or Outerra a pretty close to real life in doing that- can we expect something similar in the new sim?
