  1. Hi, Just had a question regarding this subject. I also use REX4 & Soft Clouds, ENVTEX and ASCA. Like the OP, I would like my skies to be dynamically handled by ASCA using ENVTEX textures. However, I want to keep REX Soft Clouds Textures. How do I need to proceed? Do I need to disable Cumulus and Cirrus in ENVDIR to be sure that ENVTEX does not generate clouds?
  2. Hello, I have Active sky Next and I am using it since May, without any problems. However, I tried to start it this morning, I got the splash screen (with the thunderstorm noise in the background) but the menu did not appear. 2 minutes later, the start menu finally came up. I reinstalled ASN 3 times, I still have this problem. Any ideas of what's happening? Before, I used to get the Welcome page (start menu) as soon as the splash screen would dissapear... Thanks!
  3. Hi everyone, I wanted to buy a new PC for Christmas. I would like to have a powerful PC, which can run some ' key ' add-ons (like the Aerosoft A320 or the Paris CDG scenery). I found this: http://m.rueducommerce.fr/Product/?id=P4S07EA Is this a good PC? Of course, it is a branded PC so it's components are maybe cheap and not very powerful but it still has an Intel Core i7 processor with a Nvidia GTX960 2Go graphic Card. Please let me know if it is good, Thanks a lot! Ps: Sorry, the website is in french. A big thanks to Chris341 and N405GJ! Cheers, AF

    Beacon?

Thanks Chris! Could anyone also confirm that at 1:00, the lights flashing on the floor (ie. runway) are the strobes? Thanks!

    Beacon?

Hi everyone, Just had a small question: Check this video please: What is that red flashing light on the winglet at 0:33? It can't be the Nav lights as they don't flash. Is it the beacon? Aren't the beacon below the fuselage? Are they so powerful?! Thanks, Cheers

    help with BRG

Great explanations by ComandanteBigote. He/She is absouletely right. And; if you have a sharp turn, don't hesitate to turn before the " NEXT WPT IN 1 MIN". If you turn 1 minute before your next WPT in a sharp turn, you will have to add some degrees to return to your course. Good luck!
  8. Hi! No, the plane will not automatically follow the F-PLN. You will have to manually enter the HDG. Cheers
  9. Good morning, I don't get this too: How do you know if you are TO or FROM the VOR if you DON'T have an indication (e.g that small white triangle has failed)?
  10. Hi, Made lot's of tests... Ok, so some doubts: So I am trying to fly outbound. " If FROM is activated, look at the CDI and move left or right until the CDI is starts to center. Usually you would intercept the radial at an angle of 45 degrees. " Ok, that was not difficult: I had entered in the OBS R-254 and I was in the right side (FROM). I then centered the CDI. I then matched my HDG with the radial (to fly in the right direction). I was finally flying out of the station. " If TO is activated that means you are on the wrong side of the VOR (not the half of which the desired radial is the middle one), first fly the heading of the radial regardless of what the CDI shows you." Hmm...that was a little bit more confusing. So I did the same thing, I entered OBS R-254 and I place the plane on the wrong side with an inbound R-090 (TO indication). But If I follow the heading of the radial, I will basically follow 90°! So I will be going on the wrong side... Did you mean that I have to follow the number always is the reciprocal of the radial, so the opposite radial? So basically 270°? That would make more sense... Could anyone confirm? Thanks and good night!
  11. Hey! Found a VOR simulator here: http://www.pyrochta.ch/english/PageNavigationTrainer/PageVOR/vor.html Will come back to you If I still have doubts!
  12. So when I re-read Jeroen's post: Question 1 is wrong. The FROM side runs from +90 and -90 degrees from the selected radial: the TO side consists of the remaining 180 radials. So basically FROM = right side of the VOR Question 2...I don"t have any idea.... If I enter a CRS which is on the wrong side... Ok, so let's say that I am north east of the VOR, outbound radial 40°. So I am flying FROM the VOR. But my HDG is 220 (so I am flying towards the VOR...) If I enter CRS 310, it will show that I am on the left of the radial. When I will cross the VOR (I will be on the 220 radial (but I will be flying away of the VOR)... What do I have to do know to be on the 310 radial??? As I have been flying in the wrong direction? Can anyone show me on a photo how the CDI will be? Still a bit confusing for me... Thanks Exactly like here. When I will cross the line of ambiguity, what will happen? My HDG will be of 345 and my radial. But I will be going away from the station. So let's say that at the line of ambiguity I enter CRS 210, what will it show?? It will then show a TO indication? And I will then have to match my HDG and the CDI? Thanks
  13. Thanks a lot, Just to confirm: You can fly FROM a VOR with radials : 270-280-290-300-310-320-330-340-350-360-10-20-30-40-50-60-70-80-90 You can fly TO a VOR with radials: 100-110-120-130-140-150-160-170-180 190-200-210-220-230-240-250-260 1) Right?? 2) But If I am north of the VOR and I want to fly TO the VOR and I enter my CRS: 130, what does my CDI show? Please stop the video when It stops: https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...6C-50sgQ#t=243 He wants to be CRS 95 (so he basically wants to fly TO the VOR). We know that his TO radial is around 95 and his FROM radial is 275. But how do we know if he is on radial 95 or 275??? Quote: "A. Where am I in relation to the VOR-station? In other words: ON which radial am I?." 3) How do we know on which radial we are? Does the white arrow help us? If we are FROM the VOR, will the FROM white arrow will be on the top? Confusing... Thanks!
  14. Yes, indeed. Still thanks! Will try to search in F-COM! ^_^ Have a nice W.E!
