I recently upgraded from i7-7700 to i7-10700 (replaced the motherboard of course) and difference is huge! Terrain is loading without problems and performance in complex airliners is perfect (35-70 FPS) with no stutters. CPU ugrade was the thing that made the biggest performance improvement (I upgraded from 1060 3GB to RTX 2070 Super a year ago and there was almost no performance difference (at 1080p) but it allowed more eye candy stuff). I upgraded to 4k few days ago (I was worried about 4k performance with 2070 Super) and everything is running perfectly fine with high settings.

My RTX 2070 Super handles EA without problems at HIGH. My P3D runs even smoother with EA enabled compared to classic clouds.

Same here, it is so smooth after upgrading to i7-10700, I get nearly 60FPS with complex airliners and quite high settings. I have never had a CTD in v5 (only few GPU crashes due to unoptimized sceneries). It is the best version in my opinion.

I upgraded to I7-10700 (from 7700) and I am enjoying my P3D v5 like never before (60FPS in the FSLabs A320!). Everytime I see the scenery of MSFS I start thinking about buying it. Everytime I see the FMC and systems of the default MSFS planes I tell myself: "I am not missing anything right now". Like PilotPete99 said, nothing beats P3D (and I am sure XPlane 11, but I don't have it) when flying IFR and airliners.

Apps that are from microsoft store have their files and folders hidden. They are located in WindowsApps. You have to change folder permissions to access the files and folders. Changing this folder permissions might break other Windows apps.

I had 70C with i7-7700 running at 4.2GHz. I have just bought an i7-10700 and I am waiting for the new motherboard to arrive. I am curious about temperatures with i7-10700. I saw videos that stock cooler can't keep up with this CPU under load. That's why I also ordered Arctic Freezer 34 CO. I have never had a custom cooler in my PCs before. My GPU (RTX 2070 Super) runs at 60C Ambient temperature is 24C.

CRJ X has been around for few years. It had some bugs and problems. CRJ Pro was released a year ago. It is like a NGXu update of the original PMDG NGX. Pro version has a completely new cockpit model (with PBR), improved realism, systems ... Pro version is compatible with P3D v4 and v5.

Hello! I am thinking about upgrading my I7-7700 to I7-10700 (I have RTX 2070 Super). I usually fly CPU intensive airliners and I need a CPU that will do a better job. Does anyone have a experience with i7-10700? What is your opinion - how will P3D v5 run with i7-10700? Is it a good choice? I was searching for videos on youtube about i7-10700 and P3D without luck. Thank you!

I have just updated to 2004 and updated my GTN. Is it placebo or is it really even smoother than it was before?

Hello! I would like to let you all know that a freeware sloped runway airport was released (updated by me) a few days ago. It is from developer called ILUMIUM Simulations who made a payware addon for the whole Slovenia. Divača airport has already existed as a freeware addon. The real airport has two slightly sloped runways which was not possible in the v4 version. I fly at LJDI in RL as a flight student and I always wanted a sloped runway in P3D. When P3D v5 came out I decided to edit this airport with the new V5 SDK. Now it has two sloped runways and sloped grass taxiways. Once I finished it I contacted ILUMIUM and told them that they can publish my V5 update. Divača is a small GA airport located in Slovenia. It is one of the oldest Slovenian airport. Slovenian avitaion pioneers Rusjan brother were testing his planes at this airport. It was then used as a WWI air base. It was rarely used after the WWII. LJDI had two grass runways in the past. It became more active 20 years ago. An asphalt runway was built 10 years ago. Both runways have a slope. Now it is used by a flight school and GA planes. Cessna Citation 1 is also able to land here. Addon also includes custom 3D objects and photoreal terrain. I just wanted to tell you that there is a sloped runway addon for V5 because this is a new feature of the new sim. I didn't create the addon. I only made an update for V5 that includes sloped runways and taxiways. You have to make an exlusion zone in Airport Design Editor that excludes all default buildings.

I made my first flight with v5 and Active Sky and made a video: V5 is working without problems on my system.

Thank you for answer! But I do not understand why is V5 loading all of the SimObjects at startup? This wasn't the case in V4 because it loaded in less than a minute.

Did you try to delete shaders in ProgramData\Prepar3D v4\Shaders? Did you reinstall GPU drivers?

Hello! I bought Prepar3D v5 a couple of days ago and it runs perfectly fine. I installed IVAO Pilot client and IVAO MTL into SimObjects\IVAO_MTL and added a few lines into simobjects.cfg. My problem is that Prepar3D v5 now takes about 6 and a half minutes to start! I have been flying in Prepar3D v4 for years on IVAO and I never had this issue. My Prepar3D v5 is installed on a SAMSUNG 860EVO 500GB. It looks like P3D is loading all of the SimObjects everytime I start it. P3D v4 wasn't doing that. P3D v5 loads almost instantly without IVAO MTL. I think that there must be something wrong with P3D v5. I also found out that P3D v5 creates a lot of empty folders at Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\SimObjects. There are folders for every single SimObject and all of them are empty. There is no need for Prepar3D v5 to load all of the Sim Objects at startup. I also tried changing Required=True to Required=false but it didn't fix the problem. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thank you! Same here but connector reinstall doesn't work for me. I always get CTD at splash screen.

I have already asked on their forum. I bought P3D v5 yesterday and installed it and I am sure it has a hotfix (5.0.24.34874).

Thank you! I have the same add-on.xml content. I have found out that as_connect_v5.dll is causing this problem. P3D starts up if I remove: <AddOn.Component> <Category>DLL</Category> <Path>as_connect_v5.dll</Path> </AddOn.Component> But AS is not working without this .dll.

Can someone who has AS3D and is working fine please send me a content of add-on.xml file (default path is Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\ActiveSkyP5)? I can't get it to work. Thank you!

I entered the old license key for V4 and AS accepted it. But my I get CTD while starting up P3D when AS is installed.
