  1. Bryan York says above that: "PMDG has the latest version of RAAS for the P3D 777 installer. So it shouldn't be asking you for an update. Robert and I discussed the update personally." I too have followed instructions to the letter, uninstalled 737 and 777 from P3Dv2.5. I then re-downloaded the installers from my account and ran them. 737 went fine but I got the RAAS out-of-date error when installing the 777. Does anyone know a better solution to this issue other than disabling RAAS in the XML.dll as described in Bryan's post. If not, where is this xml.dll anyway, so that I can disable it? Many thanks in advance Vincent Codlrick Ooops! Please ignore my post above about RAAS - I just noticed that there is a page 2, 3, 4, and 5 to this thread which cover the issue pretty well. Sorry, Vincent
  2. On the contrary, I would have thought that a prior knowledge of the pricing strategies of add-on vendors would be a substantial contribution to someone's decision to move from FSX to P3D, which is the topic we are dealing with here. I certainly would NOT have purchased the P3D license if I had taken the time to find out beforehand that this would mean giving up all my PDMG and A2A products or face having to buy them all again. Regards Vincent
  3. Yes sir, thank you sir! I was only asking for clarification on that point and I have received an official statement from PDMG in response to a support ticket "The Prepar3D platform and FSX Platforms are completely separate product lines despite there similarities and if you desire to run any of the PMDG products in P3D, it will require the purchase of a new product/license. We have no plans to abandon the FSX or FSX-SE platforms so nothing requires you to purchase the P3D product unless you wish to have it. There was a temporary Price Reduction from the planned retail price for the first 30 days after the P3D version was released, but that price reduction is no longer available. Sorry to disappoint." Abundantly clear. Regards Vincent Coldrick
  4. Absolutely agree! I too have the PMDG planes and they have advised me that I DO need to purchase separate P3D licenses. <QUOTE>The Prepar3D platform and FSX Platforms are completely separate product lines despite there similarities and if you desire to run any of the PMDG products in P3D, it will require the purchase of a new product/license. I did buy the P3D version of the C172 trainer and it IS exactly the same product. What I do not understand is how Orbx/FTX are able to issue triple installers that allow you to install their products into either FSX, P3Dv1 or P3Dv2. I am not talking about having the same product installed simultaneously on two separate simulators (which would arguably justify a 2nd license), rather I am considering the situation where a consumer waves goodbye forever to one simulator and wants to migrate his paid-up products to a new one. This can be painlessly achieved using the Orbx and FS Global products, and perhaps many other vendors as well, whose products I do not have. Well done Orbx, caveat emptor PMDG, A2A VPMC
  5. Hi, I'm new here and have not been able to easily find an answer to this question by browsing around. I have purchased licenses for the MD-11, 737NGX, 747 and 777 for FSX. I am now migrating over to Prepar3D v2.5 My question is: "Do I have to purchase these products again or can I download and use the P3D installers?". I am a bit wary of "suck it and see" in case I screw something up. Thanks for any advice, VPMC
