  1. X-Plane is more like a workshop. I fly in X-Plane since its version 8.30 came out, and that is about 8 years ago. Since then, i am never fully happy with my setup, my rendering options and mostly, I spend more time configuration the rendering options than actually flying. However, once you have figured out a sweet spot between frame Rates, complexity of plane and scenery and settings, X-Plane is a ton of fun. X-Plane 10 has a few bugs on my system, so I'm busy enough trying to get those sorted out. All in all, it is a great simulator and i cannot wait for more addons to come out. FSX has the advantage in terms of what's available (AES, Ground Services, etc) but X-Plane will catch up on that one too. (One day)
  2. i have to admit that the ATC in XP10 is a major step up from XP9 and previous versions, and I use it on all my flights. However, in approach, i'm going missing. Last week, i flew an approach into Vienna (LOWW) and the ATC told me to fly heading 130, until intercepting with RWY34's approach. Then however, it forgot about me and i kept flying until i was over the Balaton Lake (roughly 150nm south east of Vienna). Any attempts to fly back to Vienna (FUEL!) were met with the constant 'you are off course' status from the ATC. I really like the ATC feature, and i will continue using it, but for most approaches, it is better to fly with no ATC coverage, at least in the approach.
