Magneto / Starter Switches Stuck
Stuck again! I loaded up several add-ons and got the starter switches stuck again. I switched airplanes to the Corsair F4U and that magneto switch was also frozen. Conclusion for now is that it is not a problem with the aircraft, but with my overloading RAM (16 gigabytes).

Magneto / Starter Switches Stuck
I since recalled that upon loading the saved flight and trying to start the engines, on my first attempt to start I had forgotten to adjust the mixture controls -- they were in the fully leaned position. When the first engine didn't start I realized my "pilot error" and adjusted the mixture. On the next attempt to start the engines, the starter/mag switches froze. I duplicated the problem this morning, but in trying to isolate the problem this afternoon everything seems to be working! I've tried loading other aircraft that had been in use around the time of the problem and then reloading the saved problem flight, and I've tried other various "scenarios." But I can't get the starter switches to stick again. I have no idea of what's going on, but I promise that those switches were non-functional! Thanks, bob, for the test.

Magneto / Starter Switches Stuck
I'm having problems with the starter switches. I can shut down the engines and restart them. However, if I shut down the engines and the airplane and save the flight, when I load the saved flight with the cold/dark airplane, the starter/magneto switches are non-functional. The cursor will change when hovering above the switches, but the switches will not respond to left or right clicks, click and drag, etc. The battery and other switches work, as well as the mixture controls, parking brake, etc., but the starter switches remain stuck. If I use Control - E, the switches move and the engines will start. Otherwise the engines can't be started using the starter switches. Anyone else having this problem, or can duplicate it? Thanks FSX Accel, Windows 7 64 bit

PrimoCache?
Based on the glowing "Holy Grail" reviews/promotionals by PC Aviator and others, I purchased two licenses for two different systems. Normally, I would not purchase anything without having done more research, but I tusted the sources, and I regret that I did not test the free trial prior to purchase. If you are considering this product, please do yourself a great favor by testing the software on your system prior to buying, which is what I wish I had done in retrospect. What I gained by my purchase was a reality check, a learning experience, but no perceivable improvements in either of the systems. Otherwise, for me it was a waste of time and money, and I have unistalled the software.

PrimoCache?
I have 8GB of RAM on my machine. After running FSX and shutting it down, FSX reloads faster as long as the computer is not shut down and other programs have not been loaded. I think that is due to what remains in RAM. The faster reloads happened prior to installing PrimoCache. My thinking was that PrimoCache would speed up the initial loading of FSX after the computer was shut down and rebooted since the cache on the SSD is "persistant." This does not seem to be the case, or if the loading of FSX is in fact faster, it is barely noticable. In addition to buying PrimoCache, I purchased a second SSD for around $90. It could be that if one were to consider purchasing an SSD for use with FSX, it might be better to forego PrimoCache and install FSX on the new Solid State Drive. Running scenery from a separate drive seems to help a great deal. I rebuilt the computer on which I ran FSX and exchanged the hard drive with an SSD, and the improved performance is impressive. I also installed PrimoCache on another machine on which I run some very resource hungry programs. I've had it running for only a couple days, and the jury is still out on that -- I haven't really put it to any tests yet, but I hope it's closer to the promotional claims that were made regarding FSX.

PrimoCache?
I have my operating system and FSX installed on a SSD, and MegaScenery Earth installed on an external usb 3 hard drive. The system was from very good to excellent as it was. I installed a second SSD and PrimoCache, thinking that MegaScenery might load faster if some of the external hard drive with the scenery was cached. This hopeful thinking may have been a misconception on my part regarding the functions of PrimoCache. When I have several states active in MegaScenery, I have the impression that the scenery does, in fact, load a bit faster, but there is so little difference that it could be just my imagination and wishful thinking at work. I have seen essentially no improvement in FSX performance.
