  1. Hi Rob and Others, My situation is such, that I can complete a flight w/o a CTD. The only time I have seen the CTD now is when I first start the Sim. The weird thing is, I am running P3Dv4 on the same machine and do not experience any CDT. Since I am in the process of building a new PC with better performance (just waiting for the GPU prices to drop) I will utilize the new PC for flight sim and remove it from the machine where I have the problem(s). I will however read the post for this particular error and see if I can solve something So until I have my new PC finished, I can live with status quo. Again thank you for all your help
  2. Hi, I just completed the KTPA - KMIA run again. The same scenario, when I load the sim the first time, I get a CTD. I restart the sim and it performs w/o crashing. Here is what I found in the Event Viewer, Application - ERROR: https://www.flickr.com/photos/141330124@N05/shares/0k5039 "Faulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5f6cce4b Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.19041.488, time stamp: 0x70e69bad Exception code: 0xc0000006 Fault offset: 0x0000000000023ed2 Faulting process id: 0x2358 Faulting application start time: 0x01d6995e052e41c0 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.9.3.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\FlightSimulator.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: 80f4bf4c-91c9-4fc9-b1ed-f78c4f9073e7 Faulting package full name: Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.9.3.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe Faulting package-relative application ID: App" Maybe someone could make heads and tails out of that description. Thanks for help
  3. Hi, I just completed the standard run from KTPA to KMIA w/o any incident. What I did: I checked my VAS settings and found the following - INITIAL SIZE: 8192MB & MAXIMUM SIZE: 32768MB. I set VAS back to WINDOWS MANAGED, rebooted, loaded the sim and performed the flight. So was VAS the culprit. I am not sure and will continue to test. In the meantime thank you very much for help
  4. Hi, I do have 16GB memory (2 x 8GB) installed. At this time I will leave it at "Windows Managed" and will try the simulator again, to see if anything changed. Thanks
  5. Hi, Virtual Memory? I have 32GB of physical memory installed (2 x 8GB sticks). So what would be the setting I should use for VAS in the "INITIAL SIZE" box (in MB) and in the "MAXIMUM SIZE" box (in MB)? According to "turbomax's" post it should be 1.5 x 16GB = 24GB = 24000MB and 3 x 16GB = 48GB = 48000MB. Is this correct?
  6. Hi All, As I stated in my previous post, after I made all the corrections/adjustments, I still had a CTD when I first started the SIM and pretty much after the "press any key" command. When I started the sim again (no reboot) that's when I could complete a full flight from KTPA to KMIA. So I really don't know if I solved anything! Question to Ricardo41: How do I use the Windows Event Viewer for a CTD?
  7. Hi, Just completed the flight - NO problems, apart from aircraft inherent issues. I have not read anything about the rebuilding the .cfg file. Paul, if you get a chance and are willing, could you check if your simulator starts in WINDOWS SAFE MODE with NETWORK Connection? Thanks for help
  8. Hi, On Wednesday I did the 2nd uninstall / re-install. So I am flying a short route right now from KTPA to KMIA in the A320NEO. I have the following data: GPU: 65 deg C - between 90 and 54% - Fans 90 to 100% CPU: 45 to 50 deg C - 50 to 60% I believe this is pretty normal data. But the first load attempt ended in a CTD. I restarted again and am able now to fly Thanks for help
  9. Hi, Thanks for all the replies; here is what I did: The crash appears as total shut down of MSFS2020 and I can restart it shortly after the crash. No other issues or displays. I am NOT using the VFR map. 1) I ran the chkdsk command as admin 2) I set Aircraft Traffic to: Real time ONLINE 3) I set Text to Speech to: Windows OFFLINE 4) I used the Windows 10 Memory Diagnostic Tool - tested the computer and detected No Errors 5) I downgraded the video driver to: version 456.38 However, I still have the problem that when I boot in Safe Mode, I can NOT start MSFS2020, it will NOT run [ as per troubleshoot guide: if the sim doesn't start in safe mode, it is likely a problem with the hardware (for instance: corrupted drivers or overclocking)]. Thanks for help
  10. hi cdtlg, I will try the downgrading of the video driver. The PSU is EVGA 750W Gold and I don't believe it's a PSU issue. I will check the cooling side of the CPU and see at what temp it's running. ( it's a cooler master aircooler). I have MSI Afterburner, but somewhere it stated that it can cause problems. However, I will use it to check the CPU temp. Can I run ckdsk command on SSD drives? Thanks for reply
  11. Hi, I am struggling now since almost 2 weeks to get MSFS2020 to run properly and NOT CTD. I am getting the crashes totally random, sometimes on start up, sometimes during flight setup and also during a flight. I now saw the posting "Zendesk MSFS guidelines for solving CTD etc" and followed it step by step. Here is what I encountered: When I try to run the SIM in Safe Mode, it will NOT run. So as per post: "This step will help identify if the issues lie with the hardware or software: if the sim doesn't start in safe mode, it is likely a problem with the hardware (for instance: corrupted drivers or overclocking) but if the sim runs normally in safe mode, it's likely a problem with a program (antivirus/firewalls, conflicts). 1) I have the latest Nvidia GameReady video driver installed; 2) I have no overclocking GPU or CPU; 3) I run Windows defender and have a exception set for MSFS2020 My system is: CPU Intel Core i5-6600K; Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 5 MoBo; 16GB DDR4 3500; Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 GPU; WIN10 v 10.0.19041 build 19041; So I am on my wits end and would appreciate any help
  12. So you just enter the ILS frequency as shown ( 110.80) w/o the backslash (/)? And yes the looking at an angle happened to me as well. Thanks for help, I will give it a try
  13. Hi, actually I forgot to mention that I can't enter the frequency MANUALLY. I get an error "Not Allowed". I tried to enter the following syntax (like the Aerosoft Bus): / XXX.X. Is that how you get the frequency to show up - and also after several attempts? Or do you re-enter the complete line e.g. "ILS 09 / 110.8" Thanks for reply
  14. Hi, I have made several short flights from KTPA to KMIA. The flightplan calls for the runway 9R ILS approach into Miami. On all flights I never get a ILS frequency displayed in the NAV RAD page. I get the LOC course and can NOT manually input the ILS frequency. I have the following display on the NAV RAD page: ILS09 / [ ], but now frequency. This page should auto populate when I select the approach?? I have the LS switch ON, I have the approach confirmed in the PERF page. Thanks for suggestions
  15. Hi Bobcat, Yes it is confusing and that's why I wanted to clarify. I do have the B747 as well as the B787 showing up on the aircraft selection screen, so the correct version must be installed. Thanks for help
  16. Hi, I have downloaded MSFS2020 Premium Deluxe Version from the MS store. When I open the game and check the “Official Content” menu in the “Marketplace”, I see the following logo’s: Premium Upgrade (Owned and Installed); Deluxe Upgrade (Owned) and Premium Deluxe Upgrade (Owned). If I click on either the Deluxe Upgrade or Premium Deluxe Upgrade icon, I get OWNED, DOWNLOAD and GO TO CONTENT MANAGER selections. Q: DO I NEED TO INSTALL THESE UPGRADES SEPARATE AND AGAIN? Thanks for help Juergen Mader
  17. As I said there is a input "Steering Axis" but it doesn't do anything. I mapped a dedicated tiller to it but it does not show the behavior of an axis. So since there is also no option in the A320NEO to use the tiller, I believe I have to wait for an update from MS. I am sure you could map an axis in FSUIPC 7 to send a steering command, but which command is assigned to NW in the simulator?
  18. Hi, I downloaded MSFS2020 and am struggling thru the setup and getting it to run. When I fly in P3Dv4 I have a tiller for steering the nose wheel. In MSFS2020 there is a command "SET STEERING" under Miscellaneous and I mapped my tiller to that input. However, it does not steer/work e.g. in the A320 NEO. Does anyone use anything other than rudder pedals and twisting the joystick for nose wheel steering (separate device). Also I am not sure if the default aircraft support nose wheel steering without rudder. Thanks for reply
  19. Hi, does anyone have my problem: if I go to control > slect my controller and profile > click on Sensitivitybutton > I only get DONE, but no curves to be adjusted. Any suggestions are appreciated
  20. Hi, Do it, it's great. I did the A320 and the 737. Worth the money, say hello to Capt'n Chris Rigby from me. All the best Juergen Mader, Tampa Florida
  21. Hi Bobcat999, That seems to work. BTW were in your neighborhood last year (Coventry) to use a 3D flight simulator at Flight Simulator of Midlands. Beautiful country Appreciate the help
  22. Hi, I would like to know if there is a proper sequence to EXIT (shut down the simulator) when you are in flight (e.g. P3D: pause the sim with P and press Ctrl + C to shut it down)? Thanks for response
