  1. My question to this is why do we need a cargo cabin. We are pretending to fly virtual passenger if I wanted virtual passengers I would install FSX/P3D and buy the A2A B377. I feel that a drop in frames that the cabin would provide, would do me with little comfort to know that there are 3d polygons of my fake passengers behind me. I know that they are their because when the fake passengers move to the back of the plane I feel a nose up attitude. To say that we need a 3d cabin would also be to say that we need a dynamically shift CG as our virtual passenger get up and walk about the cabin. But then when we are flying a cargo plane we would need to see the boxes behind us. Personally i would like to know if one of the boxes I am carrying has a can of worms in the cabin. I mean a sleeper would be nice but you think about the level of simulation the X-Plane users would require. I bet you they would want the sheets to get dynamically dirty and have to replace them. And having cabin attendants, is something that A2A does in Captain of the Sim line of planes. I feel that PMDG would not to step on toes and make such a plane for x-plane. On regard to PMDG never doing the cabin in the highly regarded 737 line of planes they do provide the FSX/ P3D users with an infinity more fun and dynamic cabin by actually doodling in seats. As I said I personally think having a cabin is fun for about 10 minutes like avatar mode the new hit feature in P3D. You look around go "cool" and never touch it again. Have a nice day, Nick Paine
  2. Baking in static reflections is not very dynamic or realistic. It is like back in the old monitor days, when you used to be able to bake an image into it, by keeping something open for to long. people complained about that because you would see the same thing over top of what you wanted to see. Then when dynamic screen savers came out you can see the pixel turn on and off and so that stopped the image from backing into the screen. Right so looking at the same pilot wearing the same Flannel shirt and it is the same angle for every flight and as you move the camera then that is not like real life right? it is like baking an image into the screen. When you move your head around the cabin of a real plane you will see the reflections "moving" relative to the angle that you are looking at the panel with. Like if we look at the panel perpendicular we will see our face. If we look at the panel with a different phi then you see the reflection "look down" or "look up" . And as your theta changes you will see the reflections of things more the the left and right respectively. Best of luck and hope to see you in a dynamic mirror, Nick Paine
  3. Mr.RSrandazzo I do not really feel the need to mix my professional work life, and my hobby together. But since some users are unable to understand how thermodynamics works, I think it would be potentially valuable for the community if I offer my skills. I am a Mechanical Engineering who mostly looks at strengths of materials, but I have had to do a fair amount work on the life cycles of parts under thermodynamic loads. What I would like to do is a Computational Fluid Dynamic study of for the R-2800’s. In order to see what the equation the values should be based on the values that are used in the sim, vs the real numbers vs the CFD study. I know that we see very little if any difference between three. There is no one can argue with the numbers, so I think this will put a stop to the engine debate that people are having. I thought I once read claims of someone comparing your DC3 engines [i assume R-1830’s] to the engines in your simulated DC6. If this is the case, then I would like to try and get a CFD done on those to map the relative thermal similarity of the engine (at their hottest running conditions). I would not feel comfortable commenting on what I believe is happening or the misconception these people are “seeing” without being able to run the numbers through a couple different scenarios (prop-wash cowls closed, tail wind cowls closed with max/min prop wash). I only really fly x-plane so being part of Avsim community was not really a needed thing until I took a look at the forum to see what people were saying, and I could not believe it.
