I just did a new build and am finishing up the painstaking process reinstalling the dozens of add ons for P3D 4.5. It's been so long since I did my last install on my previous system, I forgot what I had all of the graphic settings set to. I have most ORBX products and generally fly PMDG and QW. Flytampa airports, FSDT, etc etc. Active sky, ASCA. and on and on. Asus Z390 ROG Formula, i9-9900k, RTX2080ti, 32gb DDR3200. Also got a new monitor - BenQ PD3200U 4k. I would like to run everything as close to max settings as possible, but I am not sure about some of the settings. Can someone give some recommendations? Also, what about CFG edits?

Just built a new system and am beginning the long and arduous task of piecing together a fresh P3D install. I bet I have 100 addons to get through. I've got tons of ORBX and all the airport and aircraft addons I need. What are the best addons today for weather, environment, etc? Think REX, GSX, Activesky, tomato shade, etc etc etc.

I just purchased a new Ben Q PD3200U. I am considering getting a 2nd one. Real reason being that I do work from home quite a bit and having dual setup is always better. My thought is to use on screen for cockpit, one screen for external views. Running in 4k, how well will this work performance wise? System: i9-9900K RTX 2080 ti Asus Maximus XI Formula 32GB 3200

This is for a new build. GPU will be RTX 2080ti. My current i7-6700k build has 2x16 DDR 3200. Prettiness is part of it.... I'd rather have 4 sticks of 8GB as long as it won't impact performance in a major way.

building a new system - primarily for P3D. Asus rog maximus xi formula is my MB choice. case and fans are all corsair so I'd like to go with corsair ram for the rgb compatibility. I think I am going with the Dominator Platinum RGB. Problem is, I cannot decide what configuration, speed etc. I know I want at least 32GB total. Now, the decisions.... 3000, 3200, 3600..... 2x16, 4x8, 4x16. 4x8 will look the best but I know won't perform as well as 2 x16. 4 x 16 would be best but $$$$$.I currently have 2 x16 3200 in my current system so don't think I would want to go lower than that. Any input?

just for the cpu. putting in a H100i RGB PLATINUM SE 240mm. OP here - thanks for all the input. I do not want to run a TV - I also use the monitor for work when I am working from home so it needs to fit on my desk. Lots of spreadsheets! I think I am leaning towards the BenQ PD3200U --- I just hope I don't miss the ultrawide 34 that I currently have. I'll actually gain some screen area though. 34" 21:9 vs. 32" 16:9

I asked this question a while back. I want to see if anything new/different has come into the market. I currently have an Acer Xr34. I've had it for 3.5 years now so I'd like to go 4k --- I think. I had considered the BenQ PD3200U in the past. Building a brand new 9900k / RTx 2080 Ti system so should be able to handle most anything. Suggestions? FYI, my gaming is 75% P3D, 25% call of duty type games.

Honestly I just want one. really enjoy the build process always nice to have a new look on my desk.

I've got a 6700k @ 4.5 with a GTX1080. I've had it for 3+ years now. Overall, it is a good build. Been really reliable. If I am going to spend anything, I am going to do a complete build and sell my existing to a friend so there would be an offset expense wise.

New build would be 9900K.

I was going to do a new build in January but with Ice lake rumors, I decided to hold off. Now Intel is indicating that ice lake desktop chips won't be out until 2020. Some reports saying it could even be mid-2020 before they are out. Opinions on proceeding with new build now? The cycle is continuous but I figure I build now, then do an ice lake in about 2 years from now.

What's strange is that this issue just randomly popped up. I haven't changed anything - no new add-ons

I am on P3D 4.5 (haven't installed hot fix yet) sometimes it actually gets to the load % screen, other times not. Just clocks and then freezez (Not Responding at the top of the window) Any ideas?

FYI - just did a test run and CPU temp was pegged at 53c.

yep. but this hasnt been an issue until recently.

The degradation seems to be happening in the last month. I'll check cpu temps. I just installed Division 2 and it runs really smoothly at max settings so I think it is something P3D related. Clear shaders, perhaps?

Lately, I feel like my system performance is degrading. Fairly consistently, scenery does not load completely upon arrival in a new area. For example, flew from the UK to EHAM yesterday and the scenery never fully loaded, even with a slow 200kt approach below 10000 and a long 15 mile final at final approach speed -- what should have been plenty of time for things to get loaded up. As well, the aircraft remained black on the exterior until short final. My add ons in these areas and this flight are all ORBX products (including True Earth NL), QW787, FlyTampa EHAM. I have active sky, etc - however weather was clear yesterday. My system has not changed in couple of years: i7-6700k GTX1080 32 GB ram Z170 Deluxe M.2 2 TB Any thoughts on what could be going on here? I am on the verge of a new build and these issues just make me want to do it sooner rather than later!

With UK2000 EGLL and QW787 I'm getting around 8 FPS at the airport with max FPS around 12. On departure towards the east, I got 6 FPS over London at about 12000 feet. YIKES!!!! Compared to True Earth NL and Fly Tampa EHAM where I see 15 - 18 FPS. System: i7-7700k @ 4.5Ghz GTX 1080 32 GB DDR4 3200

Just getting back to this --- I don't have any AI traffic. I do have all ORBX products. I also have GSX. I uninstalled ORBX KSAN and it is apparent that I was seeing the P3D defauly scenery popping through. Uninstalled, reinstalled ORBX KSAN and still the same issue. default scenery still showing in some areas through ORBX KSAN.

yes. It's always looked like this even before the update. just never got around to fixing it.

No jetways and a mix of scenery objects?

Seems like the long delayed 10nm chips will be here by the end of the year. Right when I am considering a new build! What will the 10nm chips bring for P3D performance?
