  1. That sounds great! I really appreciate you getting back to me. I've bought it now and I find it difficult to get used to the new user interface and joystick sensitivity! I'm going to spend the day training and watching some YouTube videos! Thanks! Gaz
  2. I agree. I'm wondering if another product would be better, like x-plane? Gaz
  3. That sounds great! I really appreciate you getting back to me. I think I'll give it a go. Gaz
  4. I posted this on another site, but there aren't as many people there as there are here. Basically I'm slightly annoyed with some features of FSX:SE, I think because it's not kept up to date. I was wondering if I should be using xplane instead? Nearly all my life I've used the MS version and loved it, but now I feel it's well out of date. I have never used xplane. Does it have things like atc? I can see some great addons for sale, but weather and atc are important for me. Also, is there something like Ultimate Traffic for xplane, so that it looks more real, and there's real AI feature? My basic query is, what's in one product that isn't in the other? Thanks, Gaz
  5. I'm getting the impression from the forums that the builtin atc is not very good, but the other atc don't handle the AI traffic. It's a shame. The idea of doing it early, and ignoring the calls to go back may be good, but I was also thinking of doing a 360 near the short final, while continuing the 'normal' decent.
  6. It's a shame that you have to do that! I'll give it a go, however. Thanks! Gaz
  7. Hi I'm using the default ATC, plus sometimes I'm flying the PMDG 737, and sometimes the Aerosoft a320. The problem I'm getting is that quite often I'm not given enough time to descend for the short final. It means that the cockpit ILS eventually doesn't work. I reduce the speed, and I use the speed brakes on order to descend more, but the ATC doesn't give me enough time! It's there a config setting in fsx.cfg where I want to say I need more time to descend? Thanks Gaz
  8. Well, I'll be keeping my eye out on it. Hope things go well. The latest images look great. Gaz
  9. Sorry, forgot to add. It would be good if it's a tool that I can simply type in an airport code to in order for me to get information from, before I use Simbrief to do the flightplan. I understand if this sort of app is going to cost. Gaz
  10. Hi I am looking for some advice on what weather app to buy. I suppose its similar to the one that was initially built in to FSX but then stopped getting updated every 15 minutes. Any advice? Something that will give me some real world weather that gets refreshed would be great. Thanks! Gaz
  11. Thanks for your replies - I didn't tell this site to t notify me of responses to my initial post! I forgot.. 😦 Anyway, the thing in UT sounds interesting. I use the Live version, so I'll have to see if it's there. Reducing the overall traffic is also possibly a good idea, but it's a shame to do it. Thanks for getting back to me! Gary
  12. This looks fantastic. Will it be available for FSX:SE when complete? Thanks, Gaz
  13. The EditVoice Pack appears to be the answer. Gaz
  14. Hi It's new to me now, but a long time ago I was using FS9 (and before that, even), I seem to remember there was either a setting or product that speeds the movement of aircraft from the runway. (I'm using FSX:SE now.) If you have Ultimate Traffic, and you try EGKK (Gatwick, very busy with only one active runway), then you can see that you end up sitting there for ages to get a space on the runway for takeoff, and often that is only because the queue in front of you seems to time out and the aircraft disappear, then many of the landing aircraft have to go-around because they are so close to the one in front. That actually helps in giving you space, but it's not exactly realistic. Is there a way to speed up the aircraft that have landed off the runway? Thanks, Gaz
  15. Hi I've just bought UTL and it seems to be working perfect. I followed the YouTube file I linked to below, which seems great - everything in FSX seems to be as expected. However, there is a problem with the call signs of the other aircraft - it only includes their numbers. For example, for a British Airways "Speed Bird 123", it only calls out "123". It is like that for all aircraft except mine. Any help would be great as it's an otherwise great product! Thanks, Gaz
  16. .. Interesting stuff. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks for getting back to me. Gaz
  17. That's good to hear about the APPR INIT page. Just in answer in your question; I feel like I'm having to surround myself with laptops for the PMDG 737. I keep my checklist and notes on my tablet, for example. On my laptop I have to run Simbrief to get the plans before I run FSX and import those plans. I don't then like to switch Windows on my laptop because, for some reason, fsx stops working at times. The last time it happened, you could tell fsx was working, but the screen was plain blank (white). Anyway, thanks for telling me that, it will really help. Gaz
  18. Hi When i used FS years ago, I didn't have to tune my ILS frequency in when ATC told me the runway to use. However, now I seem to have to be looking it up to do it. Anyone know if this can be fixed? BTW, I'm considering buying FS2Crew - perhaps that will solve it!? Thanks Gary
  19. BTW, I didn't know that about the bank angle, thanks.
  20. I haven't loaded a 3rd party weather program yet, so it's fsx fair weather to be honest - just while I'm training. When I fly out of 08R or L from Gatwick, I simbrief puts me on the LAM5P airway. In the fsx flight plan, I can remove waypoint D260J from the route - that is the waypoint causing the most problem. However, in PMDG fmc, it is not listed on the legs page - simply LAM is there, it's like D260J is a sub element of that, and because it's causing the severe turn, it would be good to get rid of it on the fmc, but only lam is there. I appreciate you both getting back to me.
  21. I appreciate you getting back to me on this... Your reply is complicated - you're clearly experienced! Given what you've said, though, I'll try and work out how you do what you've said. Thanks! Gaz
  22. Hi I've created a flight plan using SimBrief, and loaded it into FSX and PMDG. Other plans that I have done work very well with SimBrief and PMDG. The problem is that sometimes SimBrief generates a severe turn in the plan (see my plan: https://photos.app.goo.gl/hR37w7sLs2rDaycs8 ), and this causes the 737 to go from left to right, over doing it, causing it to constantly to go-over the route so that it has to do another turn back (it essentially oscillates) . It takes some time before the aircraft is doing smaller turns, and eventually on course. I've even tried reducing the bank angle, but it was just a try and didn't seem to help. Anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks Gary
  23. Brilliant - I got it! Thanks for your help. Gaz
  24. How do I get that? I've got the OC up and running but I can't find where I get the livery from there. https://photos.app.goo.gl/C7gKPSOFQb6wiXwD3 Thanks Gaz
