  1. Thanks Ernie that makes sense. I think I can just plug the headset directly into the PC and power the rear speakers via the external X7. I was trying to do both through the x7.
  2. Hi all I am just returning to flight sim and having finalised monitor and controller type issues I am now onto sound. I have some rear mounted wall speakers that I power via a Soundlaster X7 external card which works great. I also have my headset plugged in. At the moment I can get sound via either the headset or the rear speakers. What I would really like to do is have the aircraft noise through the rear speakers and the ATC comms/vpilot through the headset. I'm a bit of a tech noob so haven't worked out how to do this. Would greatly appreciate any advice! Thanks
  3. That's it! It was the bridge file. Thanks Keven so relieved!
  4. Ahhh ok I am using Trend Micro. Anything specific I need to look for?
  5. Hi Keven I switched to the Acer 38 inch monitor and so far havent had a recurrence!
  6. Done this twice. No change 😞
  7. It's awesome ... I can see so much more and the peripheral view is superb. BUT: its almost unsuable. I can't get panning to work at all on ChasePlane ....
  8. Hi all I've done some searches but have not been able to find a solution. I've just upgraded to an Acer 38 Ultrawide. Everything is great except panning. Neither HAT nor mouse panning works other than a super delayed super slow juddery pan. HAT is worse than mouse but both unusable. I've checked for conflicts, cleared the cache, not sure what else to try. Normal preset changes work fine. FPS is steady around 60. Help please!
  9. So I went in tonight and the retailer didn’t have many but they did have the Acer in both 34 and 38 inch models. I’m sold on the 38 - the extra height was noticeable and looked great. So it’s really a decision between that or the LG. Assuming my 1070 with run both of them. Unfortunately they are FreeSync not Gsync monitors.
  10. Thanks Ray. I think I will go into a retailer to actually judge the size and see which would be optimal. I'm still concerned about the 1070 card so figured the 1440p might be as high as I could go.
  11. Looks like my local retailer stocks the 38 Acer for about 1700 AUD. I'm NVIDIA 1070 though so dont I need to go for gsync rather than free sync?
  12. There is also this article https://www.nerdspick.com/the-best-monitors-for-flight-simulators/. Recommends the LG 34UC80-B but i don’t think that is available here in Australia
  13. I like the look of the Samsung CF791 but do I need to find a Monitor with Gsync for the NVIDIA card?
  14. I have a pretty flexible budget but would probably draw the line at $1.5k. Desk space not really a problem either although I am reasonably close to a potential monitor. 38 inch would probably be the maximum. Lighting is good I have a dedicated room which is well shaded but also has strong overhead lighting. I’m open to UltraWide as above but I think fidelity of the cockpit is my primary concern. So I have the means and capacity to get a quality monitor within those parameters but it’s trying to find the balance of what my system will run effectively.
  15. I think resolution is more important than performance for me. I currently have three very clapped out old Dell monitors, one 23 inch and 2 22's. I use the 23 for P3D and the others for charts etc. I would prefer to go to a single larger monitor with good resolution and use charts on iPad. So basically looking for the best new monitor my PC will support, willing to consider ultra wide but cognisant of the issues raised earlier in the thread.
  16. Ray I am looking for a single good monitor for the same aircraft... however I only have a 1070 card. Not powerful enough? I’m a neophyte when it comes to hardware requirements!
  17. Fair enough. I did a search a few days back but this seems new. Point taken though.
  18. Hi Everyone I currently am running a triple monitor setup but all three of the monitors are very old. I’m thinking of switching to a single ultra wide monitor. I’m running a 1070 card for graphics ... any recommends out there? I read some articles that recommended : Best Ultrawide 1440p – LG 34UC80-B, but as far as I can tell it isn’t available in Australia. Budget is around the 1k mark. Appreciate any advice!
  19. I am having an issue with Chase Plane(using P3Dv4) periodically has view changes slowing to an absolute crawl - sometimes taking well over 30 secs. I'm still learning the 737NGX. I'm running three monitors, I have P3D in the centre. I'm watching the Angle of Attack training videos on the left and have dropbox on the right with flight plans and charts etc. Everything works fine but after a while especially the view change on chase plane slows to the point it is unusable. Seems to occur when I click back to P3D having been on one of the other windows. I thought it might be memory or CPU overload but with task manager open watching the numbers neither CPU nor memory seems maxed out. System is i5 6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1070 Graphics Card. Any advice greatly welcomed!
