    Oh! I think I had this too, maybe a couple of times, though I haven't systematically verified. The way it feels to me is that the APP mode arms, but the disembodied FO voice doesn't annunciate that the LOC or GS are armed/captured unless I press the button a second time. I wonder if there's a range beyond which the APP can't actually be armed, but falsely says that it is?
