  1. Hi Scott, Thank you so so much for reaching out to me. Means a lot. Yes, so it seems this may be the only other option, and as i said previously, I am now willing to try anything. Its the only game one enjoys really, and XPlane isnt quite there for me yet. I will obviously have to check and research online now how to accomplish this next step, but I am slightly nervous about doing it, as my computer skills are moderate at best. I did see an option the other day to "restore windows to its original state". Would that suffice? Is it a really complex procedure or ? How did you find it? Many thanks. Andrew.
  2. Thank you so much for reaching out to me Odourboy! All scenery cache taken out via the un-install, In-sim rolling cache off, plus manual cleared, plus disk cleanup tool took out the shader (DX), plus the Nvidia caches all removed, and shader set back to Unlimited in nvidia CP. Was running Virtual desktop previously via dedicated router, and so my duplex was set to full duplex. I had this issue first begin with BT fibre, and in the last 2 weeks I have changed to an independent 5g hub (connected via Ethernet). All tests show its around 255 Mbts and running fine. Also tried "NORDVPN" to see if that helps, and although a bit quicker on downloads, it makes no difference to this issue. Thank you once again. I'm willing to try anything at this point 😉
  3. PC - 78003XD - 4090 - QUEST 3 + 2d on occasion. / Ethernet connected with cat 7. On steam/Steam VR. Hello to everyone, I am now at my wits end, and hope someone tech savvy can help. I raised a ticket with zendesk, and they have exhausted all avenues. So one now feels a little lost and out of sorts, with nowhere to turn. Up until about 7 weeks ago, MSFS was a stunning joy to behold. Scenery was rich and vibrant, clear and crisp. Distant scenery and detail was great, and one could see for miles and miles in all directions. This is with TLOD 255 AND LOD 200. The following issues then began, and it was gradual, and progressive. It began in London, taking off from Heathrow, i turned 180 degrees and headed for the shard and parliament buildings. When all was well, the whole city appeared in front of me, and it was rich with autogen, and generic buildings. All was well. Slowly this began to change, and roughly every 1 in 5 flights, exhibited a lack of autogen houses. They all apeeared flat, just lying on the tiles ahead. They gently popped up at the last moment, when right on top of them. It was just baron, with only the parliament and a few other larger buildings present. I restarted the session, and it came back to normal. Slowly....slowly it became as it is now, a baron wasteland. TLOD of buildings and trees became terrible (with the odd generic building present in the distance). But around the airport of take off, it was looking kind of ok, with what mimicked a 155 TLOD. As i progress further out, things get baron, and nothing really appears, except a small ring of scenery. However, interesting to note, other Aircraft are appearing just fine, and from a very long distance away, which made me ponder whether this is an actual TLOD issue. This all began around early March, and has gotten worse ever since. These issues have now manifested worldwide, and appear everywhere. Currently I am now also experiencing the reported map issues, where old data bing tiles are meeting new bing tiles. And mismatched resolution of tiles everywhere. Also, i have had issues with runways having slight undulating humps in them. Remedies that haven't worked are: 3 Reinstalls, using a paid version of Revo-unistall software. + Removal of the steam cloud. (strangely, eben after a full registry file removal, when back in sim settings after a fresh install, one of 2 old settings are still present (On PC side it is a vsync setting at 50%) This baffles me, as all files were scrubbed clean, including user config etc. Makes me wonder how MSFS is still re-installing this one setting? Files integrity checks via steam, Removal of all external mods, addons etc. Resetting all settings (on/off). Checking internet connectivity and speed (getting 254mbts) and no internet issues. Signing in/out of xbox + resetting TIN services. Data cache cleared + rolling cleared. + All nvidia drivers up to date + windows and motherboard updates complete + shader cache all cleared. Network adapter reset. Every usual culprit above has been checked, updated or cleared. Now, it become unplayable, its just ugly and very stunted. The only changes i have noticed or physically altered are the following: 1. AMD recommended and sanctioned OC via Ryzen master. It was the default standard OC, which is classed as very mild and gentle. I didnt see any performance gain with it installed, so i simply reverted back. 2. Market place purchase of an airport runway enhancement pack. Uninstalled this to make sure it wasnt the issue, and have it in game as "uninstalled". 3. Market place purchase of the Harrier jump jet, and same as above, i have left it uninstalled. 4. Auto fps app used, but removed to make sure this wasnt the culprit. To sumerise: Autgen houses and buildings are either non existent, or flat until i get on top of them. Around takeoff point, things appear kind of ok, but things get baron once away from them. Generic buildings appear ok, but much reduced in TLOD, in comparison to what i was getting when things were well. A.I aircraft are fine, and are seen from many, many miles away. A few humps on certain runways. Can anyone help, or point me in a direction of remedy, or further diagnostics. I am wheelchair bound, and MSFS is really my only salvation in times of stress and inactivity. With great thanks and appreciation. I am at the end of the line so to speak, and nowhere else to turn. I so hope someone may be able to help. Warmest regards, Andrew.
  4. I have this as well. Ever since around the 18th March I have had the following issues: * Slow loading PG around all cities and all areas of the world. * Buildings of all descriptions, missing, until right on top of them. * Although using "AUTO-FPS" and max at 250 TLOD, the distance is flat, and misty. * beta SU15 is the same. * Huge tiles popping in around the plane, everywhere. Goes from a light green map, to a dark map. I don't know whether this is a game issue (servers etc) or something my end. I installed Nord VPN, got super fast fibre, wifi6 router, and my rig is a 78003xd + 4090 + 32gb. I did try a "modest" CPU overclock, with official AMD software. Nothing extreme or in-depth, it was a checkbox "auto overclock" but it didn't provide anything special, so i reverted back. So i don't really know what's what now.
  5. Well, its odd. I gave it a flyover (london centre) and as stuff popped in to view, i noticed a hell of a lot more details. For example, the buildings now spawned in names (HSBC) and other details ive never seen before. Once id gave it a good flying over, it struck me. It was like the TLOD was set at a crazy high figure. And yet in sim it was a t 155, and same on the Auto-fps app. I think maybe something has got muddled up in the game itself. Looks like i will try a full unistall, and hope that sorts it. Tried the screenshot, but ive never done one before, and it became as faff. It would only show a lack of scenery and buildings at a distance. Imagine a 70tlod and looking into the distance. This is so very weird.
  6. Hello there, thank you for responding. I really am in a pickle here. Yes, in sim, all normal as before, no change. TLOD in sim at 155. Tried altering them to min, midway and high, makes no difference. Internet I have monitored via "Task manager" and its sucking up - up to 72mgbs at times, all looks normal. Updated the TP-archer wifi-6 router, all running well here. PC graphics all on minimum and off. Photo-G is on. Tried off, no problem noted here. Tried active pause, just to see what happened. and no change, Don't know what that means really, but it was suggested elsewhere. I am at a loss to be honest. Andy (uk)
  7. Can anyone assist me please. As ive stated numerous times on this wonderful forum, my simming has come out "night and day" with the AWESOME Auto-fps app. However, since 2 days ago, I seem to have run into an issue. And I cant for the life of me, figure whats gone wrong. My issue is: Scenery and Building wont generate and spawn into the scene. Its as if i'm running a 60TLOD in the air, and although scenery and buildings appear crisp and clear below my plane, it wont show anything in the distance (except certain buildings of prominence). For example, at Heathrow (my favourite haunt) the city doesnt show up. Its just plain tiles. But.... parliament does show, and the shard building, all on there own. I cant fault the app, and i'm 99.9% certain it isn't the fault of the app, but what could it possibly be? I have installed the brand new Nvidia driver today (just released) and cleaned out all my cache folders, as well as rolling cache in sim, tried unistalling Auto-fps, tried all windows updates. Still no luck. Ive also checked the MSFS tickets and com plaints forums, and no one seems to have mentioned "down servers" or any other issues that match mine. I am at a complete loss, and it happened just when i was really nailing my settings on Auto-fps. Please help if you can, I am really missing the amazing action. Thank you. Andy (UK).
  8. Well, my enjoyment and testing has been halted again. This time, slow loading scenery and giant tiles popping in constantly Infront of me. It looks as if my tlod is at 75 at 4000ft, but its certainly not, its at 250. Again.... not the app, its probably the darn servers again. MSFS is so god darn switchy!! And building have been nuked again! Anyone else having this issue?
  9. SAME, SAME ON 78003XD + 4090 + QUEST 3. Used to really scratch my head with all this, thinking something was "off" with some settings somewhere (mostly in DCS/MSFS). But its not, its just a very demanding sim, and very demanding running VR, especially with ASW on. My trouble is, with the graphics i am used to, and super-sampling and such, I look out the cockpit, and it literally looks real. As in super real, Its hard to tell the difference from real life, its that word not allowed good. So with that said, I cant now bring myself to simming at native 72hz with the lower settings that brings. So i have to use ASW, and i have to say, its been fantastic. It would be great not to have to rely on ASW, but to achieve 72hz/72fps I would need to run way under my conditioned and cosy super-duper graphics. Besides, I actually dont see much, if any, artifacts or funny business running ASW adaptive or auto. But here is the major caveat - It has to run with clouds, and NOT a cloudless day, otherwise the blue coudless sky becomes a little "wavey". To be fair, I'm probably preaching to the vicar here, because i am sure you know this already. I'm kinda excited to have a chance to talk with someone else who runs the same-same setup. Its been lonely in VR at times -) Also YT videos and there sell-ware influenced opinions and showcases (with honourable exceptions of course) portray their VR gameplay as 99% smooth, meanwhile, rarely ever panning to the side during take-off, or most times, never at all. IMO it gives a false sense of superiority, and totally unreal expectations. By the way I am on link cable. For me it pummelled wireless into the ground graphically, and that with me using an archer wifi6 router, fibre internet, and gigabit cable. Just didnt work well, although fps was better on VDXR, Airlink, et al. So anyway, for whatever reason, my performance last night with the test version wasn't nearly as good as previous nights. I put this down to the sim itself, and their servers, or the latest update i had to install last night from MSFS. Not 100% sure. The preceding week was really very good though. I'm guessing it was not the app to blame. Have you experimented with Riva-tuner on fps lock (on/off), and with turbo mode on/off via xrtoolkit - and do you notice your half refresh rate headset lock (36/40/45) fluctuates by +1. I get a 36-37. Turbo seems to work better in some planes, and not others. And rivatuner the same. Ive taken to writing down my experiences now, because of the huge number of variables. With latest test version (auto-fps), I am still currently experimenting. Its obvious to us both, that we need a fairly chucky "headroom fps zone" ahead of 36 (or half refresh) in order not to get sucked under our caps. If we do....well, it aint pretty is it. EDIT: Just installed the new "full version" (16/03/24) and once again, we have major progress. The TLOD increases are smaller, and more gradual, which is giving a really smoooth flight. And it seems to respond from around 2 thousand feet now, and comes down to my minimum of 100 + at just the right time. So now, i am getting an experience similar to someone who has no cap. and it is decreasing tlod more readily based on altitude. My auto box is ticked, and my fps tolerance set at 2. That seems to work best with the latest non test version app. This app, really is MEGA impressive. And I want to thank the dev wholeheartedly. You have made this app, beautifully accessible, responded magnificently to feedback, and it now seems to me, to be an amazingly good app for all people, all pc hardware levels, all circumstances (caps, VR etc etc) and still manages to work its magic for all those differences. That's a rare challenge, and once you have most definatly achieved.
  10. Hi Guys and gals, I'm on a 78003xd + 4090 + quest 3 +32gb. SUCCESS!! Had a perfect flight in VR at 36fps (capped via HMD) with Motion repro (oculus ASW). The "gradual" TLOD increase of test version is STUNNING!! Very slow increase to my maximum 225, and NO STUTTERS!! Granted the TLOD doesnt come down again till around 2000ft, but its a SLOOOOW burn down. The TLOD + is working flawlesslsy to, which is detecting my extra capacity. Stutter free, and so so very happy. You sir are a modern day saviour, and I personally want to chuck buckets of gold and tasty chciken wings at your blessed feet. 10 out of 10, 5 stars, bravo. much love, from A very chirpy Andy. 😉
  11. Ok, so ive now got some more information, regarding what went down in my own auto-fps use. It still puzzles me somewhat, because at one stage i seen it working flawlessly. Strange. You were right, 5% doesn't cut mustard. At 5% it remains at my base TLOD of 100. With my system, this causes stutters above 2000ft. At 10% of my lock of 36fps (32) it does function. But because the FPS never drops, I only get increases of TLOD once past 1000ft. The increase is fairly rapid, and takes around 10 seconds to reach my maximum. However, because my system is robust, it can take it, and causes only a few "blips" of instability. Way less than i was getting before. As others have mentioned, MSFS is rather an unstable platform, and getting consistent results, and thus providing consistent feedback is always iffy at best. If only i could get a slow decrease in FPS descending, as what seems to occur, is a whopping wack down from 225 to TLOD min - of 100 under 1000ft, which again causes a "blip" or two. 97% there, but no champagne. It would be magic, truly magic, if somehow it would wiggle itself down slowly, it would be perfect, but i cant see a way to do this. Perhaps "Dynamic TLOD would be more suited in my case, although i much prefer the auto-fps app, because its so much more user friendly. As it stands, im getting benefits from the app, even though its not fully being utilised. As mentioned before, I am using VR with 36fps (half 72hz) with ASW enabled. So i have made sure i have plenty of headroom above that number, which keeps me in safe territory, even with a rapidly increasing TLOD. May i enquire about the new version you mentioned. Would this new version be somehow fully functional with my situation do you think? Btw, I still feel strongly you should be compensated for your efforts, youve taken a hell of a lot of time here, gave so much joy to others, and have really been great all-round. Anyways, THANK YOU.
  12. Hi Guys and gals, I'm on a 78003xd + 4090 + quest 3 +32gb. I have been following this thread with deep interest. As a user of a quest 3 VR HMD, I have been wondering how i can get the auto fps app to work. Well, with a locked 36fps, with ASW on adaptive, and ultra and high settings in sim, and 1.4 oculus super-sampling, I seem to have had some real decent success so far. I dont know how it was working exactly, because my fps never budges from an alternating 36 or 37 fps. The 37fps may be an inaccurate number been shown from "rivatuner", but not fully sure. My logic is that if that fps number is true, and 36 and 37 are being cycled intermittently, then perhaps the auto fps logic is using this "tiny" variation and providing some benefit. Bit baffled at this point, but i havnt been able to get enough time dedicated to it thus far. Two days ago, is when I began simming with auto-fps, and at first it seemed to work a charm. Rising from base 75 TLOD from 1000ft, and gently rising up to a max of 350 in the DC. Amazing. Upon landing it was as smooth as peanut butter. - That was with 34 fps target and at 5% deviency. Looking back, i still dont fully understand how it was working. Then I seen someone mention a 10% target. This didn't seem to work as well, so i reverted back to 5%. Got to try again tonight, but I hope this continues to provide good results, because my first few flights with auto-fps were mind blowing. At one stage i was taxi'ing around Heathrow with full live traffic, and it was stunning, truly stunning. To do this before, I would really have to lower settings and also lower resolution, which never made it worth it. Like other posters, I cant seem to understand how the TLOD lowers itself. After all, the fps never breaks lock of 36. If it ever does, its goodnight Vienna. Also, if it doesn't work well again like the first few flights, my thinking is, i can at least make use of the "on ground/below 1000ft" TLOD minimums. Then, just keep my max TLOD at my usual in-sim values. That way, i get great airport experiences and a normal flying experience in the air. My thinking is that, because of the 36 fps lock (half of 72hz) , and the auto-fps logic not been able to take advantage of a decreasing fps, at least it will detect my high fps overall, and increase from the tarmac upwards, essentially taking me to my max TLOD in the air. Then, upon landing, it reduces automatically when i hit the tarmac again. So for me, even if it doesn't fully work with fps locks (VR headsets), i can at least have a much better experience then with no auto-fps app at all. Does this make sense to anyone else?
