Stuttering every ~40 seconds, struggling with finding cause
Hello folks after extensive research and troubleshooting, disabling the "SSDP Discovery" has completely solved the stutter. I have no idea why that was not happening before, it's something to do with bluetooth, smart tvs etc, the only thing I can think of is my new bluetooth keyboard (though I don't have bluetooth on my pc, just plugged it in via usb-c, and I use another keyboard for flightsim) perhaps activated this. ChatGPT led me in the right direction after many hours. Thank you so much for all your help here folks such a joy to see a community like this, many blessings! If it's possible for an admin to edit the original post with this, it may help some poor fella who encounters the same thing in the future, as I don't see the option to edit myself. Thank you and god bless all!

Stuttering every ~40 seconds, struggling with finding cause
Another update that may provide the key folks, I previously perhaps was being too erratic with my troubleshooting due to my workload, stress and generally chaotic nature at times, I have sat down and used a timer, so far, and I hope I'm not being too hasty with this assessment as it could provide the key, the stutter is appearing every 55 seconds. I have tried 6 times now and it's happened bang on time each time. I also noticed through MSI afterburner that my GPU is clocking down as low as 55mhz upon each stutter - perhaps relevant or perhaps this is normal as if the cpu hitches then the gpu has no workload I'm not too sure. Continuing to test folks, blessings to all!

Stuttering every ~40 seconds, struggling with finding cause
It appears to even be happening in the MSFS menus folks, I have previously been quickly loading into a flight, the odd stutter but whatever, now I play around with the globe , fine for 30-60 seconds then bang 3-4 big stutters, exact pattern as when in flight. Bizarre guys

Stuttering every ~40 seconds, struggling with finding cause
Tried with Defender off and made exclusion for MSFS - no luck unfortunately No I've been playing Squad, Ready or Not, Arma and Assetto Corsa very smooth with zero issues. I have checked the windows update thing off with no success. I will attempt the 3D mark and report back thank you sir. I have checked the auto indexing and things with another gentleman seemed still happening. Many thanks I do the 3D mark and hope can provide some insight, many blessings! Yep made exclusion and it happens if I turn Defender off then immediately launch sim, plus not happening at all even on other cpu intensive games such as squad, thanks for the comment though sir I appreciate it blessings Windows 10 22H2, tried with prev update no change unfortunately 😞 Running LatnecyMon gives me a "Conclusion: Your system appears to be suitable for handling real-time audio and other tasks without dropouts. Looking at the "Highest measured interrupt to process latency" bar along with the others shown, I don't see any spikes or major fluctuations 😞 While I do appreciate the sims can always stutter, I have previously flown with fantastic results, smooth and just the odd stutter coming to land at major city etc. This is a very consistent *cluster* of stutters that continually repeat in the same pattern regardless of situation. Min settings and sitting still in the default 152? Big cluster of stutters every 30-60 seconds. Mine are off, thank you for the comment anyway sir! This is a very tough nut to crack it seems, blessings to you! Tried with no luck unfortunately 😞 Will look into and report back, many blessings! So folks, I am much thinking maybe to reinstall Windows at this point is the solution but that would be a very big effort and I am working a lot. We know it happens only in MSFS, on a completely fresh install, yet I am getting such a consistent stutter surely there's a culprit? I'm trying to think what telemetry could be easily set up to monitor while I use the sim, in dev mode it shows a big thin blue line spike upon each one, I believe this represents the mainthread. I have hwinfo64, hwmonitor etc but they are very confusing to for me to really see what's going on as much as I try, my eyes aren't the best. I have made a significant troubleshooting solo effort before coming here and I'm so grateful to all the help so far! If anybody could perhaps point in the direction like if we say hypothetically a windows reinstall would fix, what's it actually changing to get rid of the stutter if that makes sense, like can we via telemetry apps isolate and find the problem I wonder. Any recommendations I'm all ears and very very appreciative. God bless all!

Important to stress guys that I really have gone through every basic and typical fix possible, I'm completely at my wits end here, the more far out and esoteric solution I think will be the cause, many blessings!

Stuttering every ~40 seconds, struggling with finding cause
Thank you for the response, I'll look into the windows edb and see. V Sync on / off makes no difference to the stutter. What's weird is it hasn't happened in other games. And it happens even if I'm on min settings with TLOD at 10 for example. I can have 100 fps but the stutter remains and it's big like the sim fully pauses for 1-2.5 seconds a few times then continues. I'm just confused why this wouldn't happen on other games. I'm tempted to just reinstall windows at this point

Stuttering every ~40 seconds, struggling with finding cause
Thank you very much for the response, I did try and remove every usb device bar my mouse and it still happened. It happens while sitting on the ground just panning the mouse - buttery smooth for ~40 seconds then BAM big cluster of 2-5 stutters, repeat infinitely even if I'm just sitting there. I will grab procmon now and test it, however so far with resource monitor, HWInfo etc I see no spikes in RAM, CPU or Network. When I look at the dev mode graph, upon each stutter a thin big blue spike appears. I believe that indicates CPU related? Also, if I min the settings so I'm GPU limited, upon each stutter it changes from saying GPU limited to something else but only for less then a second, I assume it's saying mainthread. I try procmon now and have a blessed day!

Stuttering every ~40 seconds, struggling with finding cause
Hello folks, I've come to you in the hopes I could receive some aid regarding my MSFS 2020 as I've encountered a stutter that will not go away no matter what I try. I will outline the issue and what I've tried already, please note this is a consistent stutter that never happened before, it happens regardless of settings or location or aircraft and is remarkably consistent. So when I fly, the sim will be buttery smooth and then after 30-40 seconds I will get a group of 2-5 stutters, these are large stutters where the whole sim freezes for a second at least, then a second or so of smoothness then stutter again, repeat. I am certain this is not caused by anything common or my specs as the sim ran perfect in July 24 when I last used. I have a 5800x, 6700xt and 16gb 3600mhz RAM, this was allowing me to play on ultra settings with smooth frames before. I fully reinstalled msfs and deleted any trace folder I could find, on a completely fresh install now I'm still getting the stutter cluster. This has no relation to what's happening in the sim ie I could be in the default 152, in saudi arabia looking at the sky and after a rough 40 second period I'll get a consistent group of stutters and then go back to buttery smooth. The nature of the problem indicates something external however this is not happening in other games. It happens regardless of sim settings. I have tried all the basic msfs troubleshooting steps that I can find. I'm hoping I can find a kind computer whizz here who could be of assistance. I want to stress I've tried for days to go through all the typical things which I'll outline below. I'm so grateful for any help I receive and may god bless you all indeed folks. What have I tried? -Full MSFS reinstall, testing with pure default -Tweaked settings every way possible, tried on min settings 720p with a million fps, still stutters at the same interval and rate, it occurs regardless of settings or fps ie with ultra settings and 40 fps it happens, with low and 100 it happens, no change. -DDU full clean reinstall of chipset and gpu drivers -Closed every external program possible that I can find aside from MSFS -Disable full screen opt, run as admin, windows defender off -Reset BIOS to default -Checked drive health -Tried offline (I have 1gb down and this wasn't happening before with slower internet) -Tested numerous locations and aircraft - the exact same result every time -AI traffic, photogrammetry etc off -Checked rescource monitor to see if there's any cpu, RAM or network spikes during stutter - no result here seemed normal -Many, many more basic fixes, the obvious kind we find on our first google search -DX11 or 12, no change I'm really out of ideas now, the sim runs perfect for a long time and now upon my return it's like this, if anyone would be so kind as to suggest a fix I would be greatly appreciative however please try to read the nature of the stutter as I've attempted to seek advice elsewhere and am hit with people who seem to think it's slow internet, lack of ram, rolling cache etc. I've tried to outline in the post what I've tried and the nature, remember this happens regardless of settings on a complete default sim and is perfectly consistent, it doesn't increase if I'm in New York vs the salt flats of Bolivia for example. I think that's key. If someone has some ideas about potential external causes I think that may lead us to fruit. Many blessings folks!
