Hey, I actually picked up the Mechdiy B737 EFIS Panel a couple weeks back, so maybe I can chime in.
First off, compatibility-wise, it works fine with PMDG 777 from what I’ve tested—no major hiccups there. And yeah, it plays nice with any sim that Mobiflight supports, which covers most of the big ones, so that’s a plus.
About the knobs: The real B737 EFIS has those two-stage twist knobs (slower for small turns, faster for bigger ones), but this panel uses a single-stage setup. That said, if you hold the knob turned for a sec, it speeds up the number changes—you just have to set that up in Mobiflight’s hold settings. Not exactly the same as the real thing, but it gets the job done. Oh, and all four knobs are pushable, which works as intended with the sims I’ve tried.
One small thing: The mode select knob on the real plane can’t be pressed when it’s on the far right position, but this one can. It’s not a dealbreaker for me, but worth noting if you’re stickler for 1:1 realism.
As for the scale knob—real planes use a clicky, stepped switch, but here they went with a rotary encoder. I asked around, and I think it’s because Mobiflight’s button registers (4x8) can’t handle that many stepped positions. It’s a bit different, but honestly, I don’t mind it much in practice.
At $149, I think it’s solid for the price, especially since other options are way pricier. No regrets so far, but your mileage might vary depending on how strict you are with realism. Hope that helps!
