About Me

  1. Although I have worked through all the steps of the checklist and the ECAM Memo shows green throughout, I cannot get the planein the air. If I set the throttle to FLX/MCP or TO GO, release brakes, the message T.O. inhibit comes after a few seconds and the aircraft does not move from the spot. Does anyone of you know how to remedy the situation? Thanks for your help.
  2. Hi there, Our A32NX now has a custom-built performance calculator tailored specifically to the A320neo. Available now on the Development version! Our calculator lets the pilots: Determine if the airplane can take off at the intended takeoff weight from a designated runway at a specified temperature, wind, and QNH setting using a specified airplane configuration and bleed settings (A/I and A/C); Determine the Flex temperature if a reduced thrust setting (Flex) can be used; Determine the appropriate takeoff speeds, V1, VR, and V2, for the conditions specified. Please note: We will be disabling the VSpeeds auto input LSK on the MCDU shortly on the Development version. We also intend to add takeoff performance uplink capability to the FMS in the future. See our documentation: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/flypad-performance/ Happy Flying!
  3. Hi there, We’re thrilled to finally release the open alpha of the A380X! Start flying the world’s largest passenger airliner in our developer preview. We’ve ensured the aircraft is capable of A to B flights on VATSIM, giving you the ability to explore this majestic aircraft inside and outside the cockpit. The A380X comes with a 8K and a 4K texture option. See the description in our installer for which version fits you best. The A32NX Stable release 0.12.0 is packed with enhancements as well. We've improved the flight deck model with a new glareshield and FCU, as well as an air starter unit for more realistic ground operations. Notable updates include a new flight planning system support missed approaches, NAV in go-arounds, and alternate route planning. The EFB now has higher simulation rate capabilities and we have finally introduced our own takeoff performance calculator for your pre-flight planning. All of our changes and more information is available on our release notes in our documentation website. Release Notes: http:// https://docs.flybywiresim.com/latest-release/ Please note also: Due to our development and operations workflows, version numbers for the A32NX and A380X are the same. Expect near-simultaneous releases of both aircraft moving forward. Note: Throttle calibration is now required. 7. Hi there, A lot of work was recently done to make that beast of a plane as much alive as it can be visually, so you can really feel you have the real plane in front of you. While we developed a completely new wing flex system, we also added some more details that we hope you’ll like!

In this first clip, you can see we added a surface vibration model that will shake plane elements when you cross a tarmac patch or….. overrun the runway. The massive stabiliser (almost the wing span of an A320…) will react to those vibrations, but furthermore it will bend from aerodynamic forces of the elevator surfaces. The whole aft cone structure of the plane will also have a torsional stress from the rudder aerodynamic forces.
And of course, the new wing flex system is reacting to fuel mass. If you look really close, you could probably guess where is the fuel only by looking at the wing shape. This will eventually be noticeable as on the real airplane, where the fuel management system transfers fuel on the inner part, or to the exterior part of the wing depending on the flight phase.
  8. Hi there, just a short notice: the Experimental Version of the A32NX will be retired shortly as we have completed the majority of the major feature testing and development associated with the branch. We will continue to introduce new features into the Development Version. Users currently on Experimental will be able to transition seemlessly to Development using our installer. We will be updating our documentation, website, and installer in the near future. Happy Flying!
  9. Hi there, Flight Sim Expo in Houston was the place to be to see our latest A380 progress in action. In case you missed it, here's a clip showing off our new flex physics. Keep in mind this is done in extremely rough conditions (plus some harsh pilot maneuvers), where you would probably see passengers flying in the cabin, between coke bottles and lunch boxes.... We hope this will bring further life to the A380, and helps you get a feel of how massive this awesome airplane actually is. Seat belts please!
  10. Hi, I recently flew the flybywire a320 and it was really good except for one thing. When I started my descend, I selected my desired altitude and started a managed mode descend. Usually other aircraft descended at about 1800-2300 feet per minute but this aircraft straight up started to go 4500-5000 ft per minute. Obviously I reach my altitude too early and I had to hold my flight level for a few minutes, before starting the descent again. I was wondering, am I doing anything wrong, is there any solution to this? ps: in the fenix a320 I did the same thing and it worked perfectly.
  11. Hi there, just a quick heads up. We've recently made some improvements to the loading and stringing of departure procedures for the Development Version. SIDs that were missing an altitude terminated leg, or failed to load at all, particularly when using the default MSFS navigation database, are now loading correctly. Happy flying!

  13. Hi there, We have recently merged a new version of the Terrain on ND. It is mandatory you update SimBridge AND our development/experimental versions. The new version solves some performance issues and we've added general visualization improvements. The latest version of SimBridge is 0.4.0. Happy Flying
  14. Hi there, We're excited to bring a slew of new features and various improvements in the A32NX Stable Version. Terrain on ND is now available through our SimBridge, we've got some improved visuals by way of interior and exterior lighting, as well as new UI elements in the flyPadOS. In the spirit of our dedication to realistic simulation, we have updated and further tuned plenty of onboard systems to even better match realistic operation and functionality. This release is the culmination of months of work by our team and contributors, and we're proud to release v0.10.0. Happy flying! Please read before flying: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/latest-release/ Note: Throttle calibration is now required. Guide: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/throttle/ --- Download using our installer: https://api.flybywiresim.com/installer Our installation guide: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/installation/ SimBridge Guides: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/simbridge/ Support Guide: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/support/ Known Issues and Workarounds: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/reported-issues/ Note: Not Available on MSFS Marketplace.
  15. Hi there, Our custom-built implementation of VNAV Version 1 is now on our Development version! Pilots now have vertical guidance in managed modes in all phases of flight alongside appropriate visual indicators on the ND and various available predictions in MCDU. We also added a quality of life pause at T/D feature. While we do still have features for VNAV yet to come, a huge thanks is in order for a team-wide effort to finally bring this out of testing. Vertical navigation for RNP approaches are still works in progress. See full feature set and documentation here: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/vnav/ Happy Flying!
  16. Hi there, The A380 is an uncommon, huge kind of a plane… One wing is around 50 tons alone, and full of fuel it can reach around 150 tons. Yes, that’s more than the weight of two A320s… for each wing… For such an unusual mass of fuel and metal, we are experimenting with a new wing flex system from scratch, that can simulate the bending of the wing all along its length, with possible different resonance modes from the root to the tip. Each fuel tank has its own mass and position in the wing, and will drastically affect the wing physics, along with the position of each control surface. There’s still a lot of work to do, and the wing model is being reworked for full immersion, but we believe it’s the only way to bring you something as close as we possibly can to the real mighty A380!
  17. Hi there, today I want to announce two major improvements. Lights Introducing our latest visual update, a complete overhaul of the cockpit lighting system. We have removed every single light within the cockpit and redone everything from scratch, resulting in proper reflections on all materials. Our flood lights now cast ambient light, thanks to reference data and the hard work of our contributors (especially FinalLight and MoreRightRudder). The dome lights have also been enhanced. In addition, we have made changes to the clock power behavior, wing lights and added new glass textures, giving the cockpit an even more realistic look and feel. We are proud to have such a talented community of contributors who have helped us make these significant improvements. Now available in both Dev/Exp versions! Fuel System Architecture We have reworked the old default Asobo fuel system that was incorrectly based on the A320CEO. Fuel is transferred correctly from the center tank to the inner tanks from where it flows into the engines under the correct conditions. We’ve also implemented more realistic features both new and reworked: Crossfeed capability has been added. Fuel will be correctly drawn from the correct inner tank to feed both engines. Mode selector is now operative. Center tank fuel pump pushbuttons on the overhead panel have been changed to control center tank transfer valves as on the real A320NEO. Center tank fuel will now transfer to the inner tanks rather than being fed directly to the engines. Mode Sel switch in manual mode all center tank fuel transfer is controlled manually by the flight crew. ECAM fuel page has been updated to show fuel quantity changes, correct valve positioning, and correct coloration. Now available in both Dev/Exp versions! Happy Flying! PS: Also the wipers work now and the CG trim markings is fixed (yes the wipers wipe)
  18. Hi there, We finally can announce we finished fine tuning the wing flex system! It's the first time ever you will see a true simulation of how the real A380 can achieve this incredible amount of lift. See video: https://streamable.com/5ov7sc
  19. Hi there, We made some changes to the A32NX Development Version for better integration with GSX Pro. when the ramp agent inserts the bypass pin, nose wheel steering is disabled and the associated message is shown in the upper ECAM GSX chocks and cones are no longer used. You can now use the A32NX own chocks and cones and leave the parking brake off, when at the gate. To do so, you have to activate the chocks and cones in the EFB settings again (Settings > Sim Options). Remember to set the parking brake before the tug will be connected though. and finally we changed the refueling process with GSX so that the aircraft gets fueled as soon as the service personnel connects the hose (no need to activate the fueling on the flypad anymore) Happy flying.
  20. Hi there, We are happy to announce that we will be present at FSWeekend 2024 in Lelystad, The Netherlands! If you are in the area and wish to meet some of our team members, play with some cool software and hardware or come ask a question, you will be welcomed at our booth during the 16th and 17th of March at the Aviation Museum Aviodrome. We hope to see you there! About FSWeekend: https://fsweekend.nl/
  21. Hi there, Read how we ensure the efficient delivery of the A32NX to our users and how a large release, like our improved cockpit, affects the use of this infrastructure in our latest NOTAM. https://flybywiresim.com/notams/all-the-downloads
  22. Hi there, The whole team at FlyByWire Simulations wishes you some relaxing days after this exciting year and all the best for 2024. As sort of a last surprise, we did something with the A32NX in the latest Development Version, but we won't tell you what it is - you'll find out that some glaring issues were fixed when entering the flight deck. Enjoy and happy flying!
  23. Hi there, as most of you are aware, our API is bombarded by invalid METAR API requests which required us to limit access to the METAR functionality. To protect ourselves from such events in the future, we are making a change to our infrastructure between 15:00 and 16:00 Zulu today, if everything goes as expected no impact should be noted. After the change we will carefully monitor our website, documentation site and API. Once we are convinced the change has the expected result, we will open up the METAR API again in the 24 hours following, restoring all API functionality. Happy Flying!
  24. Hi there, we're just days away from FSWeekend 2024 on March 16th & 17th at the Aviation Museum Aviodrome, Lelystad, The Netherlands! If you're going to be attending you'll get a chance to: Connect with our passionate team, ask questions, and learn how to contribute! Progress on our A380X and A32NX projects. We hope to see you at this community gathering of aviation enthusiasts! We have two events scheduled on the main stage: Saturday (2 PM Local Time) on the main stage Sunday afternoon: live VATSIM flight About FSWeekend: https://fsweekend.nl/
  25. Hi there, We have recently streamlined the way our aircraft is integrated with Navigraph services in the Development version. There is now a single login for all Navigraph services, including Charts, SimBrief and (in the future) airport mapping data for OANS (onboard airport navigation). Here is what changes for you, depending on your situation: If you already have connected the flyPad to Navigraph for the Charts functionality: Nothing will change for you - SimBrief integration will now use the Navigraph account you have already linked. If you have not connected the flyPad to Navigraph already: You will need to link your account to use SimBrief integration. You do not need a paid Navigraph subscription - this integration is still free! If you do shared cockpit flights and often use someone else's SimBrief user ID: There is a new setting allowing you to temporarily use a different user ID for importing the OFP. Note that this may restrict some more advanced upcoming functionality. More informations here: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/fbw-a32nx/feature-guides/simbrief/ Happy Flying!
