Black marble is indeed most impressive, and it covers the entire world. However, is Vector really needed if a user has a decent mesh installed? By vector, do you mean that the lights follow the roads accurately uphill & down dale as they say? If it does, then would the only benefit for my immersion be the 3D bridges? Don't get me wrong by my use of the word "only" - there is an absolutely huge amount of illuminated road bridges in the world!!

Try again... over breakfast... ...it was dark last time, and all big white buildings look the same to a tourist in DC! I made sure the prop tips were supersonic at least! Now i know how one of those poor, undeducated American citizens feels when they can't find England on a map (no, not New England!!) Wow! They've sure let the property go since I last saw it on TV - look at the grounds - Agent Oranged to death!

Playing about with a freeware C-46 piqued my interest about "the Hump" so I generated a quick & dirty FSX plan from Chabua to Wujiaba (Kunming's airport up until 2012) just going from the available NDBs and VORs in the sim. This should give me a "feel" for flying over the inhospitable terrain I think. I've no idea which beacons were available near the close of WWII, but surely some form of direction finding was used - it wasn't all on a paper map which is no use in IMC Ignore the fuel burn - that's for the default Cessna!
