Having just gotten the Mirage and had a quick flight around LDDU, I thought Paris seemed the obvious place to visit. Started out from LFBD for no reason other than it caught my eye on the world map at start time. Heading over Bordeaux itself Heading north. Was originally planning to just cruise up the coast Climbing. Forsaking my usual "low n' slow" Up around 20,000 now I've always liked the look of this family of aircraft After a bit I decided to head for Paris. Possibly couldn't do that for real in terms of fuel etc but I don't do "real", so I pointed it in the vague direction of Paris and left it flying while I did some stuff on my other PC. After about 20 minutes or so I was getting near so dropped down a bit for a better view. I'm encouraged to see how well France seems to be doing converting to electric cars. I assume that's what's happening as those roads down there look pretty green to me <grin> Police headquarters down there? Seems familiar from the "Spiral/Engrenages" TV series OK, let's see if I can get barred from French airspace Easy! I thought about it . . . (done it in slower beasts, but . . .) Thought I'd go and get an eyefull of the Eiffel instead And if you think flashing those lights at me is going to have any effect . . .

Went to check if LDDU had gotten any attention in the last update. Doesn't look like it. Orbx used to have a nice one for P3D but we know how that works. While I was "purchasing" the update in the markteplace I spotted the Mirage going for about £6, and although their stuff is a bit ropey the external model is nice and I like the aircraft so . . . heading up to Dubrovnik I thought "what on earth is that?" So I went down to take a look One of the things that struck me was that it felt a bit like the LODs had been messed with again. The hills in the background here look a bit vague on my big screen, and I don't mean because of any atmospherics or hazing, just out of focus. The PG here is not too bad But I couldn't get any closer than this to this lot a bit further up the coast. It all got very melty and ugly if I tried I don't know how well this will show up for you, but on my big screen at 4k it's horribly obvious that this is a coastline of two halves. Pretty much split in the middle of this shot, to the right the PG and vegetation is good, but to the left we're in vegetative uglifact mode, big time. But to be honest, this is what I expect from MSFS these days. It's a real mixed bag as far as the PG goes - some great, some appalling. And not even necessarily consistently so as it seems to vary depending on network resources. Still, way more good than bad though.
