I've been waiting to see how this Orbx offering turned out. I've found myself less impressed with some of their modelling since MSFS came along and I don't know if it's because of any intrinsic issues with their products or just that MSFS has raised the barriers so much higher. For instance, I used to be pretty much gob-smacked by their London scenery in the True Earth on XP, but looking at it now it feels a bit more Lego-like than I remember. I suspect it is just raised expectations, but on first impressions I feel the same about this Paris add-on. The buildings feel a bit too squeaky clean and stick out of the landscape as more obviously models than some of the background buildings. But then I probably like to get much closer to the scenery than most folk, so I suspect my opinion is a bit off the normal percentile scale (as it is in a lot of things <grin>) Anyway, for any interested parties, here's some pix. I couldn't decide at first if this was a dodgy piece of modelling - but then I saw this and realised I probably just have a non-Parisian opinion about architecture! Still in touch with my inner hooligan You do know what's coming, right? Crashed and burned shortly after this. Still, it saved the Arc de Triomphe from potential unpleasantness. For now . . .

Having just gotten the Mirage and had a quick flight around LDDU, I thought Paris seemed the obvious place to visit. Started out from LFBD for no reason other than it caught my eye on the world map at start time. Heading over Bordeaux itself Heading north. Was originally planning to just cruise up the coast Climbing. Forsaking my usual "low n' slow" Up around 20,000 now I've always liked the look of this family of aircraft After a bit I decided to head for Paris. Possibly couldn't do that for real in terms of fuel etc but I don't do "real", so I pointed it in the vague direction of Paris and left it flying while I did some stuff on my other PC. After about 20 minutes or so I was getting near so dropped down a bit for a better view. I'm encouraged to see how well France seems to be doing converting to electric cars. I assume that's what's happening as those roads down there look pretty green to me <grin> Police headquarters down there? Seems familiar from the "Spiral/Engrenages" TV series OK, let's see if I can get barred from French airspace Easy! I thought about it . . . (done it in slower beasts, but . . .) Thought I'd go and get an eyefull of the Eiffel instead And if you think flashing those lights at me is going to have any effect . . .

Now that they've updated their Paris Landmarks package to work with the recent World Update, I thought I'd go check it out. As usual for me, this is with photogrammetry OFF, all 4k, all settings ultra plus LOD 350. It was a rainy day, and we start approaching the Defense buildings from the south-east Some nice detailing on some of these models Don't know what this building is actually used for, but I seem to remember it was used as a police HQ in the last series of "Spiral" ("Engrenages") Heading out to LFPG, over the National Stadium Approaching (the default) LFPG I think this is a really nice place to visit in MSFS. I recorded an hour's worth of just pootling around, out of LFPO to LFPG. I've replayed it a few times and there's always something else to go explore. Enjoy! cheers, Andy
