On a fair few FSX native aircraft, I'm getting self-shadow problems that no combination of Fixer shadow settings seems to cure.
I started a thread over at SOH (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?86833-Self-shadow-oddities&p=879027&viewfull=1#post879027), but thought I'd flag it here.
PJ suggested (in that thread) that I change the textures over to DXT-1, which gets around the problem but won't address the fact that many of my native payware and freeware aircraft that use dds/DXT-5 textures by default and would therefore (all) need editing.
One of my worst culprits is the A2A P-51D (see top pic, below the cockpit):
The false shadow on the cockpit wall comes and goes as you zoom in or out.
Is this a .mdl transparency problem or something weird about the way DX10+Fixer is handling DXT-5?
Adam.
