MCE X-Plane "Looking for changes to current aircraft"

Featured Replies

I recently purchased MCE X-Plane which states it has support for Flight Factor / VMAX 767-300. I launch X-Plane with FF/VMAX 767-300ER aircraft, select MCE X-Plane from plugins menu. MCE starts up then I get the following on screen message: {"MCE} Looking for changes to current aircraft", the screen freezes and I am forced to exit X-Plane. I appreciate any suggestions to solve this problem.

I am operating with Windows 8.1. X-Plane version 10.45. MCE X-plane 1.2.6.0

Thanks,

Dave Bernstein

Hi Dave.

This happens when MCE installation is incomplete on the X-Plane side. Often caused by users running "PackXP.msi" instead of the expected "InstallMCE".

Suggest you just un-install MCE via Windows Control Panel, then run "InstallMCE".

With UAC enabled (it's the case when you don't know what that means), you must.

1 - install MCE to default C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder.

2 - Set  both "X-Plane.exe" and "x-Plane-32Bit.exe" to run as administrator.

At the end of the installation, you should see these files and folders.

\XPlane 10\Resources\Plugins\xpInsider64.xpl

\XPlane 10\Resources\Plugins\xpInsider32.xpl

\XPlane 10\Resources\Plugins\xpInsider.cfg

\XPlane 10\MCE dlls\64 Bit\ about 15 dlls here, one of them to handle FF 767 (in 64 Bit X-Plane) named "xmcff767.dll"

\XPlane 10\MCE dlls\32 Bit\ about 15 dlls here, one of them to handle FF 767 (in 32 Bit X-Plane) named "xmcff767.dll"

Only then will you be able to use MCE, which runs externally to the simulator for better stability of the latter, with either 64 Bit X-Plane or the 32 Bit version.

Important: If you have many X-Plane installations, pay attention when the installer prompts you about that and direct it to your other installation. Otherwise files won't be copied over.
