The Glitch - A Mystery

Recommended Posts

Have you ever had a "glitch". This has become a common word that is used to dismiss a myriad of problems people encounter with technology. A glitch is rarely fixed. A glitch is usually resolved where the resolution is to reload, re-boot or some similar remedy. The glitch is still there. We have been trained to appreciate the resolution and not seek the remedy. We move on, leaving behind something that may trap us again. Glitches "seem" to mutate. That is, they cause problem A and some time later cause problem B which is entirely different. We are told this is a new glitch - reload. Hmmmm.

Glitches are costly issues in technology. They are difficult to fix since they appear in a wide variety of environments. - PC, tablet, smartphone, security system, even your new "smart" refrigerator can have a glitch. So what happens when a glitch "glitches"? Well many events can happen. A screen goes blank, a program loops/repeats, you loose data, a program no longer works, etc. Or, you get some cryptic message with a meaningless number on your screen.

Your best hope is that some skilled programmer finds a real fix and the next update kills the glitch. If not they pile up and that program's customers seek other avenues for entertainment or commercial support.

Where do I start....

1. Pmdg left click on fmc 777 p3d ctd

2. Pmdg Dome light ctd 777 p3d ctd

3. Aerosoft 32x pressing z doesn't disengage the A/P all the time

4. The pause just before touchdown at Egkk when using uk2000 scenery

5. The aerosoft a32x issue of the aircraft not following a tight turn on a sid. It just goes straight ahead. The right turn out of Lfmn off the 4s for example

6. Proatc x sending you to random fixes instead of vectors at various airports when being snatched off the star. Lsgg is a good example.

7. The pmdg 777 going through a flight level when descending then zooming back up again. Had it yesterday going into kmco. Inputted in 4000 as a level. It descended past 4000 to 3500 then realised and raised the nose back up and climed to 4000 at so.e ridiculous rate of climb.

8. Vpilot simconnect out of bounds message that comes up.

9. the p3d debacle of having dll and exe cfg in 2 places roaming and program data and developers not sticking to one place.

10. Usa controllers on vatsim not understanding what an icao type flightplan is even though icao flightplans have been regulatory for about 10 years.

There you go

Let me know if you want 10 more
