February 8, 200323 yr I am looking very foward to this project, can these guys knock 767 PIC out of its place :-) I think they can...BTW are the gauges implemented with the new technology that allows faster refresh rates and image rendering, eg Reality XP have developed this and will be included in the Flight 1 merdian.
February 10, 200323 yr WOW! I really hope this aircraft will have a "Active Virtual Cockpit" so you can fly it 100% from the fantastic VC!
February 11, 200323 yr Love the quality of the gauges and I am standing by to see how fluid their motion will be. The only thing that I have not seen and I hope that the panel will have is a perpective from the left seat as if you were seating in the Captain's seat. In this perspective the Captain's ADI aligns with the runway centerline. The landing view shown always has the ADI to the left of the centerline. In any case I love what I'm seeing so far... Pedro
February 12, 200323 yr >Has PMDG made a decision on whether the Aerosoft 747MCP will >be useable with the 737NG? I was wondering the same thing :7 this would be cool.
February 12, 200323 yr To Be honest I think that the blue readouts look better and clearer than the orange/red on the older aircraft. Would be nice if PMDG gives the option to load which colour, hint, hint :-lol Alaister Kay
February 12, 200323 yr Its not just a color change its a whole new MCP. It has changed from honeywell to collins.
February 12, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi WallaceDo you know why the honeywell AP's were replaced?A little inside info would be really appreciated! Thanks,Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
February 12, 200323 yr Well there's a few reasons ;1)CAT3B capability2)Integrate the autothrottle into the fcc instead of having a seperate autothrottle computer.3)Progress ,it provides better software integration and capability for future upgrades that are coming. Also this was the only Boeing aircraft still using a honeywell MCP ,so cost is another factor. Basically that MCP was a carryover from the 737 classic, so it was bound to be upgraded eventually, to match the NG's capability.
