April 20, 200323 yr Its looking really good so far, I like the different view perspectives, especially the ability to have the enlarged displays. The overhead looks excellent also. Is it possible to show a shot with a route displayed? Thanks guys.

April 21, 200323 yr Matthew, as one of the two painters responsible for the liveries for the PMDG 737NG series I can tell you that this is one the most stunning visual model you'll ever see. I've spent countless hours tweeking the liveries of the Lauda and Air Algerie and after a while, I usually go numb seeing the same model time and again as I work out the details of a paint job. This has not been the case with the PMDG 737NG model. Vin Scimone has put a lot of work into this package and Bob Jones' excellant work on providing the basic paint kit for me to work with has resulted in what you now see. The screenshots do not reflect the amount of detail and "eye candy" provided by these aircraft. Vin has now locked the 600 model and Bob and I have now finished the initial release paints. If there are any changes to be made to these they will have to come from the beta team, as we're confident that we have 'nailed' each respective livery. We've been given the 700 model and Bob is working his magic for the 700 paint kit, which because of the lineage of the 600-700-800-900-BBJ series, there is relatively minimum to do(Bob might not think that }( ). The fuse is the only change from the 600 that needs to be addressed, as well as winglets, airstairs, etc., but these are going to be a one time development effort that will be transferrable to the remaining 800, 900 and BBJ series. The 700 screenshots should start appearing on the web site within the next two weeks, as we start processing the model through our paint process. Since I've joined the project, I've seen rapid progress in it's developement. I started a flight out of EGLL, set course, altitude and speed on the A/P then left the airplane running while I left to run some errands. Returning an hour and fourty five minutes later I found the aeroplane on course, at speed and at altitude. The basic A/P has been fine tuned and you can set your climb rate and have the aeroplane climb at your desired rate and not shoot up at unrealisticly as someone had mentioned earlier. I think I'd better stop here or Robert might take to hitting me over the head :( PeteGraphic Artwork DeveloperPMDG http://www.precision...GX_Dev_Team.jpg PMDG Graphic Designer

April 22, 200323 yr >>Will this work with fsnav?>>My God.... Some people still dont get it?>>Why would You use FSNAV when you have such a great FMC anc>navigation system?>>Come on lets be realistic here...>>-SeanSorry I'll go flush my head now. Such a great FMC and nav system often comes with such a great FMC and nav system manual which is often many pages.
April 22, 200323 yr Lee,I don't know if it's of any help, but we are adding some step-by-step tutorials for beginners to become familiar with the 737NG systems and the FMC. In addition, the comprehensive operating manual will cover all the details on every aspect of the plane. So if you don't feel like reading all the manual pages, just print out the tutorial and follow the steps... and voila, you'll be able to master the FMC.Sincerely,
April 22, 200323 yr Hi excellent. I don't have a problem with pages of documentation but not everyone wants to have to go through a whole operation manual to figure out what speed to take off or land at, nav etc... Fsnav just simplifies some of the nav problems encountered by FS but since you have already considered a solution to it I will go quiet and wait for it to be released. It is looking very good. The tutorials are an excellent idea.
April 23, 200323 yr but not everyone wants to have to go through a whole operation manual to figure out what speed to take off or land at First, a manual will not tell you these items. After inputing all flight info into the FMC, V speeds are shown on the CDU for takeoff and landing. Each takeoff and landing will show different v speeds because of many factors like weight, outside tempt, altitude etc. This is what makes this so exciting, that one can fly like the real deal and I for one want to fly as real as possible. April 23, 200323 yr You have to read the manual to figure out what to do with the FMC though. I like the realism part a lot and I agree with you that making it as real as possible is good. I just feel that some people will be put off because there isn't a 'click here to fly' option.Still just my opinion.
