April 23, 200323 yr I see what you are saying, but one must understand that even if they can just jump right in and start flying, if they have no clue on how to do anything, what's the point in using such an intricate aircraft? Why not just use the default 737? I can tell you Lee, that I plan on being a avid forum contributor, and many of us who do know the inside and out of the NG will for sure give a helping hand in this regard. I think that flying is the reward of one's studying and I am always learning something new. This aircraft will no doubt set a new standard for it's series in flight simulator and I am overjoyed knowing that I will have a chance in a couple of weeks to fly this beautiful aircraft by PMDG.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. April 23, 200323 yr >but not everyone wants to have to go through a whole operation >manual to figure out what speed to take off or land atWell Dont Buy the Product..Simple..Sean.
April 23, 200323 yr Impressively agressive attitude you have. Maybe you should calm down and remember it's only a simulation. I intend to buy it and I will enjoy flying it. My original point was that some people might be put off by the complexity of this product and that it doesn't work with some of the 3rd party products that help to simplify FS. It is however a sign of the times that people want more and more realism in games which ultimately is good for the advanced user but harder for the basic users to get into.I bought the PMDG Fly! 757 and Fly!2 777 and there were both outstanding products. The 737 package should be excellent. Apologies for being off-topic.
April 23, 200323 yr Commercial Member Gents-no in-house fighting, please! :-) :-)You'll be pleased to know that we, as many of you, are also flight-simmers. At the same time, we, as many of you, sometimes don't have hours on-end to spare following the "proper procedure" etc. for starting up the bird.So we've also come up with "shortcuts" and easy ways of pre-started situations, for those times we're simply "out-of-time".This plane will satisfy the novice and the advanced alike, rest assured!Cheers, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
April 23, 200323 yr Thank you for understanding this. I too will put in a plug for FS Navigator compatibility. I love the program and I am so pleased at how well it exports into PIC format. The military guys and gals plug in their flight plans using essentially programmable video game cartridges in their high tech jets - I see no reason why we can't have a similar shortcut. Also, I think the jets are already programmed with company routes, unless I miss my guess here. So, the real pilots may not spend all day plugging in 50 waypoints for their flight from Logan to Denver. Thank you also for not forcing me to wait 10 minutes while the INS spins up. Much appreciated. Thanks guys. Looking forward to the plane. Colin
April 24, 200323 yr Commercial Member Colin-No worries here. You'd be amazed how much stuff we thought of before we started development.... ;-) Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
April 24, 200323 yr Commercial Member The answer is "most likely, yes". I've been in discussions with Andrew McLean for the production of an MCP747 extension DLL that will come to you (most likely at no charge, but it is slightly possible that it will be an extra cost, albeit very small).Watch this space for more news in the coming days... April 24, 200323 yr My apologies if this has already been asked. Will you be releasing a downloadable copy of the manuals before you release the airplane?Tom
April 25, 200323 yr Tom,We are still discussing this issue- most likely you will see the operating manual released earlier, and the rest of the documentation (e.g. tutorials, etc.) will be included in the product download.
