Come on Martin, give the guys a break, they're dealing with things as well as can be expected at thhis busy time. :)Why not try it first? If it doesn't work, you can then assume it won't. I somehow doubt (Please correct me if I'm wrong) they're about to release a fix to allow their software to be used with others' aircraft

Martin,the load editor does only work with the PMDG 737NG Series and is not intended to be used with any other aircraft.The product internally connects all the various components, which means the PMDG panel has to be used with the PMDG exterior model. We do not support any type of file merging or file experimentation. There is a big note posted on the main page of the documentation.
