Something on the real handling of a Boeing 737NG

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I thought I would start a fresh post with this bit of information. I just read the post where people were talking about the handling of a 737NG. Let me tell you the one things that I have found funny. The fact that we can fly FS jet aircraft is nothing compared to the real thing. I once saw a video of 2 pilots a Captain and F/O in a 737NG sim. They were current 737-300 pilots and were converting. Wow you should have seen the mess that they made. The captain blew out tires I think, and as for the F/O......lets just say its stopped in the end, straight??? not a chance. All over the place. My point is, if these guys find it so hard changing from one series to another it must say something about the handling of the aircraft. We on FS will probably be able to get it in and hour. This compared to 10 hours speaks for its self. However I will in no way to bash the PMDG project as Im a massive fan! Just though that would show something to us, then again maybe im wrong.Keep up the amazing work on this bird! I love it!Simon Lloyd

Hi Simon,Boy, I wonder what they thew at those poor guys :-) (new seat covers please) This is the reason real pilots get 6 weeks of grd school and recurrent training before they hop in a 737NG with a boatload of people ;-) . Fact is Simulation can never match reality (but it is getting closer all the time) :-) In all honesty, a lot of the graphics in FS far exceed the graphics in our Full motion sims. (scenery only of course) They exterior graphics have this horrible 65 hz refresh rate and virtually no scenery except the basic airport and after a 4 hr session your eyes hurt so bad, you are ready for a drink. :-) (of course the 25 emergencies that popped up didn't help either). Now if we could just figure out a way to tie the FS scenery and weather to the full flight deck instrumention of the Sim LEFTERIS :-)RegardsPaul:-coolPaul GollnickTechnical Operations/Customer Operational SupportPrecision Manuals Development Groupwww.precisionmanuals.com

Hey Paul-this is no joke- we have been in talks with one major airliner in the past year to actually do exactly that... the deal fell through, but this does not mean we cannot do it - they had simply decided they couldn't afford it back then... If, on the other hand, someone you know (:-)) wants to do it, just let me know...

It's funny you guys mention this, take a look here, this is a RW 767 pilot who just posted some interesting simulator pictures {brand new simulator for his airline Quantas) and the scenery looks fantastic. http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=16003&page=[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J.
