Some feedback on the SOUND discussion....

Captains-There was a lengthy discussion in an earlier thread regarding sounds... I thought I'd give you an overview of what we are trying to accomplish with the sound package for the NG.1) Multiple switch action sounds that are played depending on the switch type.2) Ambient noise generated by: Electrically operated systems in the cockpit when appropriate power is available.3) Ambient noise generated by: Pneumatically operated systems in the cockpit when appropriate pressure is available. (example: pack-flow air.)4) Noise generated by activation of generator contactors, busses, etc.5) Strong ambient noise level generated by aircraft slipstream.6) Ambient noise generated by spoilers deployed in flight.7) Typical warnings/annunciations/alert tones for the 737.8) Specially produced engine internal/external sound package for the engines.9) Some other things I'm forgetting at the moment. ;-)The sound package as a whole is being tuned to reflect the general noise level you would experience in the cockpit of the actual aircraft. This means that many of the more gentile sounds will only be audible to you when the aircraft is stopped, or when the cockpit ambient noise level is low.You will experience a higher noise level at cruise than you will during approach when speed and engine power is low.....Some things that you will not experience in our soundset: Cabin announcements. Cabin Attendant Interphone chatter. Passenger cabin noises. (no- you cannot hear them from the cockpit...) Noises that you would hear from the cabin or outside the airplane that you wouldn't hear from the cockpit. In other words- we are looking to make the sound package immersive- so as to icrease the level of realism in the package as a whole. Although we recognize that some folks enjoy "ear candy" such as Interphone Chatter- we do not feel that it adds to the realism of the simulation package- so we don't intend to add such items. ;-)I am currently working on sounds for the flap handle and spoiler handle.... MSFS has a tough time working nicely with them- but I'll see what I can do for you....Okay- back to your regularly scheduled program....

Jamie, Ha! I beat ya to it. I'm first in line. I'm not only one of the painters, I'm a customer. No, wait. That's that guy with the hair club for men. Never mind, you're first. :+

Any news on when to expect this increasingly impressive aircraft?

Sound great! :9
