July 3, 200322 yr Hello,Has anyone notice that the 737NG is underpowered on takeoff. In the DF 737 I'm able to take off at max weight in roughly the first third of the runway. 737NG I am barely able to get off with 3/4 of the runway length (KPDX, KSEA) main runways.BillyBooob
July 3, 200322 yr That's because it follows the real 737 NG to the extreme, please do not judge it by DF product but by real world data and you will be very pleased.EDIT: You can follow true NG V-speeds (with proper weight etc) from Boeing preformance manuals if that helps convince you ;)[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. July 3, 200322 yr I've only managed to squeeze in one take off so far but the power seems right-on to me. The a/c is not overpowered like the Ariane 737 and you don't have to retard the throttle right after Vr like on the Ariane (and most all other FS a/c). The NG starts to roll slowly just like the real thing. I lifted off at 153 kts and climbed out at 2100 fpm at around 180 kts. Beautiful. I can't wait to fly it over the 4th weekend!!!!!
July 3, 200322 yr All in all, I think it displays the best takeoff characteristics of any jet made for MSFS. Most of them have to EITHER barrel down the runway and lift off way early, OR not have accurate climb speeds after a realistic takeoff run. PMDG seems to have found some way to fix this. :)-Shaun
July 3, 200322 yr Agreed NOT UNDERPOWERED... the NG one of the first A/C to actually rotate at VR .. and not require another 1000 feet and 40 knots to get off the ground. I'm not a pilot but feels right .. climbing past 10000 ft, at 2500 fpm going from 250-301 kts .. seemes to be just fine to me.I added a little trim ... maybe that helped ... but from all the 737 6/700 video I have seen, this aircraft is very quick off the ground.I would like to see the charts at some point. Hopefully the doc will contain some performance info.
July 3, 200322 yr Really doubt it's not set to the real a/c adjustments. BTW Could anyone post a link to get the ref speeds for this aircraft and calculate the correct value to be inserted in the FMC?Thanks,Gustavo B.Copa Virtual Airlines http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/20813.jpg
July 3, 200322 yr You can use some magic before getting the manual :Just click on the corresponding LSK with empty scratchpad and the right number will appear...anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com
