July 8, 200322 yr Being that the FMC is not working properly, (no sid star data base and no import of flt plans), Is there a Nav|GPS switch on the panel which I can at least use Reality Xp GPS to drive the Auto pilot?? July 8, 200322 yr Hey Bill, You can manualy input waypoints into the FMC. I have done this everyday and have not found one problem. I have flow out of KBFI, KJFK, KBOS, KSJC, and KSFO with no waypoint problems.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]The Next Great one? July 8, 200322 yr Hi i have a sid and star database loaded in the FMC,these sid/star files are on the PMDG website. You just have to set up Netbios on your machine to view sids and stars. If you look under the thread unable to read Sid/stars i have written a tutorial on how to view these Sid/star files. Regards Paul Cooper
July 8, 200322 yr Author Thanks again for the response, But this still don't answer my question about the Garmin and Nav/GPS switch. Also there are no Sid/Stars avalible on the download site. July 9, 200322 yr Commercial Member It's a custom autopilot not tied to the FS2002 default one at all and thus can't be commanded by the RXP or FS GPSs...Ryan Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 9, 200322 yr Commercial Member Bill,The addon you referred to unfortunately uses the default autopilot which we found to be of-a-not-very-acceptable standard for most pitch and roll modes. We had to design our own (from scratch).Furthermore, the NG is out for about 10 days or so. I remember I had to key in all SIDs/STArs when PIC came out until users all over the world started sharing their SID/STAR files. It is therefore a matter of time. Furthermore, I err..don't really know how to answer the suggestion of using a Garmin (or the default GPS, yak !) in a jetliner equipped with an FMC. All I can say is that compatibility with high quality products (such as the one I think you refer to), however, is welcome by PMDG but has to go through proper channels (contact manufacturer etc) and definitely under consideration.Cheers,Vangelis=============================================== E.
