July 9, 200322 yr Hello,I'm surprised that in this high level and high realistic "737 NG" I can't break take off before V1 if there is an emergency!!!If I press TO/GA or N1 during takeoff (like in the real life..) and I want to stop take off before the V1, I must close the thrust levers but..nothing appens! In the 767 PIC there is an option in Menu "Pic - Settings - Preferences": A/T inhibits manual throttle! If I don't chek this, I can close the thrust lever after 80 Knots and before V1 also if the A/T (N1) is engaged and aicraft stops!!!Can you add this feature in your next patch?Thank you,MirkoITALY
July 9, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi Mirko!I was having the same problem until I talked to Anthony from PMDG and told me to right click the MCP screw that you click for TO/GA.Works for me!While I must say that it would be easier to be able to reduce power to idle using the joystick's throttle lever, it is possible to press F1 after 80 kta. Maybe at a later date this could be implemented?Regards,Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
July 9, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hopefully they'll do a keymap utility at somepoint and allow us to flip the A/T switch with a joystick button, that way you could hit the disconnect switch and pull the throttle back real fast to abort.Ryan Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 9, 200322 yr Hi, there is a tool at http://www.wideview.it/key2mouse.htm which allows you to map keypresses to mouseclicks. If you can map a keypress to your joystick button, then this should be a workaround until PMDG is offering something.Works for me (so far only tested for keyboard, not with joystick).bye,Thomas
July 9, 200322 yr Just a thought here (and I don't have this particular aircraft YET :-) ), but what happens if you hit the brakes? Does that automatically disengage the TOGA? Some aircraft (RW) I believe will have an auto-disconnect the minute you touch the brakes and you can then go to idle, then reverse. Just a thought on that that you might try.Glenn
July 10, 200322 yr Hi Automatic braking will only occur above 80knots during a rejected take off and not before, this is normal. If you read the manual it tells you this.So if you are below 80 knots you will have to brake manually to bring the aircraft to a stop. Regards Paul Cooper
July 10, 200322 yr Commercial Member Mirko,LEFT click on the "screw" will set TOGA.RIGHT click will abort take off.And why not throttle retard ? Answer : as in the real aircraft, servo motors are disconnected when THR HLD appears after pressing the toga button. Abort take off is initiated by throttle retard. However, in the real aircraft, the equipment is *standardised*, throttle has no noise and most important pilots cannot calibrate their throttles, including sensitivities and null zones. By contrast in FS throttle movement is translated to ==================================== E M V Precision Manuals Development Group ====================================
July 11, 200322 yr >Mirko,>>...>>Bottomline : Can all PMDG NG owners agree on a standard>setting ? And all buy the same joystick/yoke ? NO !>>The right click on the other hand will always work regardless>of control hardware. Hope this helps.>>Cheers,>>Vangelis>Hi Vangelis and thanks for your quick reply, but I think if Wilco has made the "throttle retard" solution to stop takeoff, PMDG also may try.., or not ;-) ?I also think is not important the personal settings of Yoke sensivities, min/max values or null zones, because FS reads theese values everytime it starts, and assigns each parameter to a specific numeric variable (f.e. MIN, MAX, etc.).SO, WHEN PILOT RETARDS THROTTLES TO "MIN": ABORT TAKEOFF! MIN =-4000, -4096, -2000, -3900? IS NOT IMPORTANT!Is right? Thanks,MirkoITALY
July 31, 200322 yr Mirko: The aforementioned wideview utility works great for me. Just assign the mouse click to a button on your throttle or keyboard. I use this for the autopilot disconnect, also. Keith Whyte
