July 11, 200322 yr Hi,Enjoying the manuals immensely. I was looking through the FAQs as I am having the fuel imbalance problem (left fuel selector only, right selector only, right engine runs out of fuel when main tank empties, etc. etc.) and I noticed that the FAQ indicates "users have reported this very infrequent issue."Is this a downplay or am I really among the minory who experiences fuel imbalances and oddities with fuel in the -600 and -700? I assume this would be patched later in the month, but is this phenomenon really a rarity?Jeff
July 11, 200322 yr hi,I have that problem also :-( I don't think it's that rare. It happens every flight I do. I don't think theres anything I can do to stop it from happening, I always end up with one tank running way lower than the other.Andrew
July 11, 200322 yr if you start with an standard fs-aircraft (e.g. cessna) for cold and dark, don't close the fuel tanks. Set it to both. It is the same like the avionics switch. When you switch off, the you don't have radios available.read you... Migh
July 11, 200322 yr I too have the fuel issue. I believe its going to be corrected in the patch Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
July 11, 200322 yr Yes it can. If you get a fuel imbalance over 452 kg in one of the main tankes (don't hold me to that number, it's from memory) then the fuel quantity indicator turns amber and shows that there is a fuel imbalance in one of the tanks. The procedure to correct the fuel imabalnce is - in case you have fuel in the center tank, to shut down the center tank fuel pumps - open the fuel crossfeed valve, then shut down the aft and forward fuel pumps in the fuel tank with the lower amount of fuel. As you continue normal operation, the fuel levels will become equal again, and that time you must switch on the fuel pumps for the appropriate main tank, - then if necessary switch on the center tank pumps - then close the isolation valve. I am also experiencing the problem, and it does not just occur after extensive APU operation on the ground. (Which by the way should normally be fed fuel from the center tanks in such a case) It also tends to happen on a totally normal flight with balanced fuel upon departure, and equal thrust during the whole flight on both engines.Hope it helps. July 11, 200322 yr You're not alone!Same here, even on a short hop from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale.Regards,Bjorn
July 11, 200322 yr Cross feeding does not work as it is supposed to. Got the fuel inbalance on a friend's machine. Center tnak empty, about 3 tonnes of fuel in right and left tank. Cross feed valve open and shut of right wing tanks didn't help at all. still the same amount of fuel in both tanks, except for fuel used of course.Regards Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
July 11, 200322 yr Thanks for feedback.I am way past squabbling over the bugs (we all know they are there, we all know they will be fixed), I was just thrown off by the wording of the FAQ.Jeff
