July 13, 200322 yr "I am locking this thread. You guys are impossible. When we released the preview screenshots of the night lighting, the forum vultures came out to eat us alive, as we didn't have flood lights in our cockpit and that was "preposterous", "unbelievable", "second-tier quality", etc. etc. (we heard it all).We went through 240+ man-hours of reworking the bitmaps just for the FLOOD LIGHT abilities, as we deemed that forum demand was REALLY high for it.Now, you want us to go back to the old way - and you even attach a screenshot to say that it was BETTER!This is crazy...Lefteris KalamarasPrecision Manuals Development Group"I think that what these costumers are trying to ask is to implement like in DF737 ALL the possible panel light schemes : flood & backlight and dimmed. Now about my PERSONAL opinion regarding this issue is that the panel looks too "artificial" non-photorealistic. Ading to this "artificial" light a litle bit of paint, throws away all the realistic feeling of the panel, were we spend about 90% of the time with this kind of product (just compare with the DF one.) I understand that was a development decision that enabled you guys more freedom to implement some features, or to add clarity to him and i'm fine with this decision( hey I've bought the product). I knew this in advance, BUT what we (costumers) don't know is what features are for this release and the ones for the 800/900 If light switches are to be for the next version, Then it's one more item to miss this "base" product making him a litle bit more basic that desirable..Jos
July 14, 200322 yr I agree with you Mr Santos. IMO its sick that post was locked. People HAVE a right to their opinion. (I agree with what was said 100%) Ryan
July 14, 200322 yr Don't compare this one with the DF737...Also this can be done like the PIC!Where the light comes on as it gets dark, and there could be a switch for flood light...But these are really minor stuff! Please can't you see the desperation in Lefteris' words, I think some people are pushing them a bit too far!Boaz...
July 14, 200322 yr Im sure we all understand what they are goin through. But I just find it bizzare that they are making an addon (possibly one of the best) in a few different stages. Now $70 (AUS) is a lot of money for an addon. It seems that if we want to have the FULL cockpit, we will have to buy all the versions. The weird bit is that a lot of of the features that are not being implemented in the first version. Are in fact implemented in the real 600,700's. This to me is really weird. It makes this aircraft (until we get the other verions) unrealistic. IMO. I hope people are able to understand what Im trying to say....I am still going to buy this addon as I believe it will be worth it. But its just a shame on how they have gone about the verions.Thanks.Ryan
July 14, 200322 yr well i am going to buy it as well,Where in Oz are you Ryan? I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
July 14, 200322 yr Author Hi BoazRegarding PIC I don't know ( now I do ;) ) how it works since I don't have it.About pushing PMDG too far I don't think so. They started pushing us first, saying this would be a "standard setting product" with all the bell's and wistles..... Then they pushed the price of the add on market ( I know that $40 is just a dinner or a T-shirt or a nigh at a PUB) but that's not the point, the point is what you get with those $40 compared with other products in the market, and finaly they pushed (rather rushed ;) ) the 737 to the market. So if they have the right to push, so do we, they've raised the bar in a number of whays and so did the costumer "demanding" acording to the expectations.Maybe one of the problems is that they did not published a detailed list of items to be included in each fase of the product, and make us belive that the BASE product was somehow a rather complete one being the 2nd and 3rd fase, system upgrades and new models, and not being a BASIC package....If these litle things where straigtned up they (PMDG) would spare a lot of Headaches....RegardsJos
July 14, 200322 yr well i aint no 737 Engineer or pilot, but what is fundamentally missing from this package? I am not trying to defend PMDG here, sure there are a few things which need to be patched, but because the light doesnt look good at night time..., geeeez! :-roll I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
July 14, 200322 yr G'Day ClaytonAdelaide mate. I see your in Brissie. Never been there, lol.I cant really comment on the light problem since I dont have the package yet. But I would say that the fact that the lights dont look right or something.....that can ruin the feel of it.Small problems for some people can be big problems for other people. Anyway. Ive said my bit. Probably best I leave it at that. Cheers,Ryan
